Punk Group Promoter Charging $999 For Tickets For Un-Vaccinated

I got up a little late this morning, as had a touch of insomnia, so, didn’t write the 1030 post before going to work. This reminded me to do so

How so?

A Florida concert promoter is using tickets to encourage Covid-19 vaccinations by charging those without a shot $999

A concert promoter in Tampa, Florida, is offering a massive discount to vaccinated people ready to see live music again.

Leadfoot Promotions is selling tickets to an upcoming show featuring punk band Teenage Bottle Rocket for $18 to those who are vaccinated, and $999 for those who are not.

Paul Williams, the man behind the idea, told CNN that it all started when Brendon Kelly, the lead singer for another punk band, The Lawrence Arms, was thinking of kicking off a tour if it was safe this fall.

Williams said he started brainstorming ways to get the band to come to his venue with their manager, Tobias Jeg. Since the show was set for August they still had plenty of time to figure out the details until Jeg pitched the idea of an earlier show for Teenage Bottle Rocket in June. (snip)

So he spent the next week thinking of how to make the show as safe as possible, at the same time Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis signed an executive order banning vaccine passports, or the ability to verify another person’s vaccination.

Williams decided that his idea did not violate the order and went ahead with his plan, offering four tickets at almost $1,000 apiece to non-vaccinated people, but offer those willing to verify their vaccination tickets for $18.

Remember when punk was about counter-culture (like so much of rock), about sticking it to the man, rebelliousness, government out of our lives? Yes, yes, rock was much like that, put, Punk took that to an extreme.

To purchase tickets, concertgoers must agree to bring their government-issued photo ID and their vaccination card. When they purchase their tickets, the language states what is required and how to get a vaccine if someone needs one, as well as how to replace a vaccination card.

It reminds me of the anarchists in Greece during the 2008 economic meltdown who took over a hospital demanding…more government healthcare.

So punk rockers used to favor lethal pandemics? Who knew?

    Jeff,
You have been very vocal about the COVID. So I guess that you agree with the rest of us in feeling that Fauci should face charges. After all, he was instrumental in gain of function efforts that he collaborated with our enemy China. His recommendations were responsible for shattering our economy, marked disruption of business, prohibition of use of drugs at an early stage which obviously would result in lower mortality and morbidity. I am sure you feel that governors that put ill individuals in long term facilities should face murder charges. Then all leaders that took away our rights should face retribution. Finally the CDC, FDA, DEA and other organizations should face review and consideration for defunding.

    • Elwood P. Dowd says:

      Doogie hoser,

      Is your ignorance boundless?

What charges would you recommend for Dr Fauci?

There is no evidence that NIH, Dr Fauci or EcoHealth Alliance were involved in or supported gain-of-function research at the Wuhan research facility. That’s a right-wing rumor started by right-wingers Nicholas Wade and Tucker Carlson.

Dr Fauci did not shatter our economy. Hydroxychloroquine was tested in Covid patients early in the disease and also late in the disease and was ineffective, but you knew that.

What rights do you feel were taken away? You can always vote for the other person next election, or do you have other form or retribution in mind? Your KKKomrades on Jan 6 wanted to hang VP Pence for following the Constitution.

If officials made mistakes in their handling of the pandemic, voters can remove them (as they did tRump). If they committed crimes they can be prosecuted.

If you can vote enough Marjorie Taylor Greenes, Gym Jordans and Matt Gaetzs into office you may be able to defund the CDC, FDA, DEA and other organizations.

Rimjob: Hydroxychloroquine was tested in Covid patients early in the disease and also late in the disease and was ineffective, but you knew that.

Except the documented evidence for all the patients successfully treated worldwide by thousand.

But nevermind, we’re dealing with Rimjob here, dipshit that he is.

But as Professor Irwin Bernstein said in 1988: The plural of “anecdote” is not “data.”

No matter how many good doctors/bad scientists treated patients with hydroxychloroquine and claimed their patients were cured, those were not controlled trials. Note that most patients with Covid recover. So when a good doctor but lousy scientist treats 8 patients with HCQ and 7 recover he declares victory, but without knowing that 7 would have recovered without HCQ. “Gold standard” clinical trials, i.e., double blinded, randomized, placebo-controlled trials with hundreds of patients showed that HCQ did not significantly improve either late stage nor early stage progression of Covid. Why didn’t tRump’s blue chip medical team treat him with HCQ after he was airlifted to Walter Reed?

Remember: The plural of “anecdote” is not “data.”

        Jeff,
So you have a man crush on Fauci. You have zero knowledge of medical issues, maybe the janitor has more.

        • Elwood P. Dowd says:

          doogie hoser,

We learn so much from your well-reasoned explanations of complex medical issues. We’re in your debt.

          • david7134 says:

            Jeff,
Thanks, I put things in terms you can understand. But it is hard in trying to explain simple medical issues to a pile of steaming shit.

  7. david7134 says:

    Jeff,
What are you debating? You have zero knowledge of clinical medicine. You go on and on about why the US has so many COVID deaths compared to other countries. Well the answer is our failing CDC. Other countries that did better instituted early treatment, within the first few days of symptoms. In the US we were prevented from doing this by our boards instituting a strict guideline policy that prohibited early treatment. This went as far as withdrawing the required drugs from pharmacies. Now, it seems HCQ has a great benefit in early treatment. Do studies support this? No. But doctors have always used drugs off label to the benefit of their patients. This is ok as long as the drug side effect is mild and there is little draw back to HCQ. So what occurred is the liberals racked up increased deaths and harm to hurt Trump. You can’t get much worse.

    • Elwood P. Dowd says:

doogie hoser typed: it seems HCQ has a great benefit in early treatment. Do studies support this? No.

There is no evidence that HCQ has any benefit, yet you advocate it as if you believe in magic. Or because you believe in magic.

Perhaps it’s you that has little knowledge of clinical medicine.

      • david7134 says:

        Jeff,
Now you have no knowledge of how to do a study. I thought that was your thing. Are you aware that beta blockers were used in heart failure before a study firmly indicated benefit. No, you are not. I sense you are frustrated and filled with hate yet it is all due to your ignorance. I bet that if Biden said licking ass would stop the disease you would be right out there. Trump may return to office in the next few months, until then why don’t you calm down.
