California Government Pushing Private Entities To Require Vaccine Passports – Just Don’t Call Them That

This will probably be the way it breaks down in most Deep Blue states, while Republican states will restrict the use of vaccine passports

California encourages venues to require vaccine ‘passports’ — just don’t call them that

California health officials have repeatedly said they have no plans to institute COVID-19 vaccine “passports” — digital or paper passes that allow vaccinated residents or those who’ve tested negative into concerts, baseball games and other sports arenas.

But this month, the state announced reopening rules for indoor live events that give businesses an incentive to demand such proof from ticket holders. Businesses can hold larger events when they verify either of the safeguards.

“Of course, it is a form of a vaccine passport,” said Dr. John Swartzberg, a UC Berkeley infectious-disease expert.

That California has not embraced the label is unsurprising, he said.

“What is happening to vaccine passports is the same thing that happened with masks,” Swartzberg said. “It has become politicized, and that is really just unfortunate.”

Why would masks and vaccine passports be politicized in a vastly left voting state? Shouldn’t the little Democrat voting sheep follow what Government tells them? Surely they ignore the information that COVID cases skyrocketed after all these states mandated masks, and even tightened requirements over time. Cases were worse than the pre-mask time of the 1st wave. And we’re told that even with the full vaccine we aren’t really supposed to change our behavior.

As the pandemic continues, vaccination requirements by California employers, colleges and others will probably grow, particularly once the vaccines can be easily obtained and win formal federal government approval. Private companies and medical and education institutions are already working to produce a pass, akin to an airline boarding pass, that could be used digitally or printed out.

Just don’t call them that.

Scores of countries require that travelers carry “yellow cards” verifying inoculation against yellow fever or other diseases. In the United States, children have long been required to be vaccinated to attend schools and camps.

“What is new and different and what is scaring some people is the idea of vaccine verification not for employment or school registration but for daily activities,” Longhurst said. “You need to show it more frequently.”

And that’s where it breaks down. Get the vaccine for the mumps? School knows, and that’s it once. Now, want to go to the movie theater, the grocery store, the convenience store to grab a hotdog and drink while filling the gas tank? Show your papers.

UCLA constitutional law professor Eugene Volokh said a vaccine pass might have generated less opposition if it hadn’t been dubbed a passport, which is a government-issued document and “makes it sound like the government is controlling your movement.” (snip)

“It’s just not an American thing to be constantly told, ‘Your papers, please,’” he said.

Well, the horse has already left the open barn door at this point.

At the end of the day, it is up to a private entity on whether they require this or not. I think we can agree on that. Government playing games doesn’t help.

This is a great idea. A universal card listing all of your privileges and identities.

Place of residence and citizenship. All vaccinations. Rights that are in effect such as ability to drive a vehicle, vote in elections, practice law, collect public benefits, own and carry guns, etc.

One card to rule them all and in the darkness bind them.

Perhaps an electronic chip implant or a barcode tattoo that allows you to be scanned everywhere you go with little effort (government employees exempted of course).

Maybe we could call it The Mark of the Beast.

Just an idea. What could possibly go wrong?

      Bwaha! Lolgf https://www.thepiratescove.us/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_cool.gif

      • Professor Hale says:

As long time follower of the Risen Christ, I have come to understand, after considerable study on the subject, the the “mark” will not be something as simple as an administrative ordinance, key fob, credit card sized object, or even implanted microchip. It would be an unmistakable mark of an unmistakable pledge of obedience to Satan. No one is going to hell for cashing their social security checks at the wrong ATM. Not meaning any disrespect to the imagination of Mr. Tim Lehaye.

      • Kye says:

Crap. We’ll just end up being called “Mark of the Beast” deniers by The Red commenter and all those gay “Karen’s” and “Kevin’s” out there looking to signal their fealty to The Beast. Soon it will be a Misdemeanor to not wear 3 masks and a felony not to carry your vaccine passport. Can The Mark be far behind?

        • Elwood P. Dowd says:

Mark of the Beast. LOL. Everyone will be forced to drive the Tesla 666.

          • Est1950 says:

The mark of the beast is not 666. The number refers to the emperor of Rome and was written using numerical sequencing by John so that only Christians of the time would know what he was actually referring to when he coined 666.

666 numerically in greek refers to nothing but when translated to Hebrew means the Emperor of Rome.

Therefor the true Mark of the Beast as revealed by John In Revelations is not the actual number of 666 but refers to one in power who has absolute control over the people he rules.

A direction being taken as we speak by the world order new Reset. Who will emerge might possibly be the 666 as Covid-19 is the first of many plagues unleashed in the end days. Not my God but by man.

Scary stuff. I find it funny that the scholars of today are trying to prove that Jericho didn’t exist when it was written in exodus and yet when the town was unearthed in the 1950’s the walls had indeed tumbled down and were resting at the base of the stanchions and massive evidence showed that the town burned as described in Exodus as well as home after home unearthed showed rice still in bowls which means the event was sudden and dramatic rather than a long standing siege.

I say that to say this. The more people try to disprove the bible the more those doing the disproving end up validating what was written 1000’s of years ago. 666? It only means he/she who has dominant power over those who are powerless to resist.

I remember the outrage from the right when Reagan forced states to enforce wearing seatbelts
    Freedom!!! Regan took our freedoms!!!!

    • Kye says:

Why do you think it’s the federal govmnt’s job to make you wear a seat belt? Are you not able to decide that for yourself? At what point are you responsible for yourself?

    • Est1950 says:

Once again Hairy who benefited from the seatbelt law?

Insurance companies. It was the insurance industry that pressured congress to pass the seatbelt law.

Additionally REAGAN DID NOT force the states to do anything.

Title 49 of the United States Code, Chapter 301, Motor Safety Standard, which took effect on January 1, 1968, that required all vehicles (except buses) to be fitted with seat belts in all designated seating positions.

New York was the first state to pass a law which required vehicle occupants to wear seat belts, a law that came into effect on December 1, 1984….Hardly Ronald Reagan.

JUST FOR YOU HAIRY so you informed.

Just like the seat belt requirement. There’s no federal law that you wear a seat belt – however the states enact seat belt laws so they can get a bite of that huge Transportation bill funding.

By the end of 1987, several states had a mandatory seat belt law, including California, Florida, Indiana and Pennsylvania. By the end of the 1980s, South Carolina, Virginia, Wyoming and Illinois had laws as well.

SO HAIRY it was not REAGAN it was the states who mandated seat belt laws and the first law on the federal books only said automakers would include seat belts in all new cars beginning in 1968.

So now you know the rest of the story. I hope you take the time to read this Hairy so you are a little less of an ignorant Chinese water army soldier.

    • Est1950 says:

The District of Columbia and Montana(Women only) require a blood test to determine if you have STD’s when applying for a marriage license.

In Florida, Tennesse and Washington state HIV specific laws were passed.

Iowa, knowingly infecting an uninfected partner with an STI is a class D felony if there’s “a reckless disregard as to whether the uninfected person contracts” said STI.
If that person does not become infected, it’s a misdemeanor.

HEAVILY BLUE MASS…….In April 2019, legislation protecting LGBTQ youth from conversion therapy was passed.

IMAGINE THIS…….MISSISSIPPI……In 2018, the Mississippi Supreme court ruled that married same-sex couples have the same parental rights as different-sex couples…..Gee a conservative state loving them some Gay people. Imagine that.

A Nebraska statute dating back to 1944 says that no one “afflicted with a venereal disease shall marry in this state.” An annotation adds that anyone knowingly entering into a marriage with an STI is barred from getting an annulment.

This year, a bill was introduced to ban prostitution in Nevada, which is the only state where sex work is legal….and to think before the ME TOO MOVEMENT there as a huge drive by women to legalize prostitution.

New Mexico law allows teens between 14 and 18 to consensual sexting—which means the sexts have to be “knowingly and voluntarily” sent and received.

Sex education is not mandated in Wyoming, but when provided, it must include life skills for avoiding coercion.

And there you have the sex laws on the books that do not deal with abortion. I hope this is helpful Hairy as I know you are now just throwing stuff out there because its the internet and all irresponsible people such as yourself love to make stuff up and laugh at the resulting comments.

I choose to attack lunacy with facts.

Uhhh, just where is that the case? Heck, you’re supposed to be of age — which varies from 16 to 18, depending upon the state — before you can legally consent to copulation, but few people check the other’s driver’s license to be sure.

The Pyrite State recently repealed its law making it a felony for a person who knows that he is HIV positive to engage in sexual congress without telling his partner that he carries the virus.

Ok, as usual, John is confused as to a subject of any kind. I am not sure about now, but in the past you had to secure a test for syphilis in order to get married. This was at the state level, as the states were the ones who could pass such an ordinance. The reason for this was that we were experiencing a syphilis epidemic in the 20’s and this was one of the only means of control until antibiotics. For that matter, if you entered a hospital as late as the 70’s you had a syphilis test whether you desired one or not and if positive it was turn over to the state control agencies. Was this socialism, hell yes. If you read your history you will find that Wilson and FDR were big into socialism and their attitudes effected the states. But, syphilis was a much bigger disease than the minor virus that has the liberal hysterical.
