California encourages venues to require vaccine ‘passports’ — just don’t call them that
California health officials have repeatedly said they have no plans to institute COVID-19 vaccine “passports†— digital or paper passes that allow vaccinated residents or those who’ve tested negative into concerts, baseball games and other sports arenas.
But this month, the state announced reopening rules for indoor live events that give businesses an incentive to demand such proof from ticket holders. Businesses can hold larger events when they verify either of the safeguards.
“Of course, it is a form of a vaccine passport,†said Dr. John Swartzberg, a UC Berkeley infectious-disease expert.
That California has not embraced the label is unsurprising, he said.
“What is happening to vaccine passports is the same thing that happened with masks,†Swartzberg said. “It has become politicized, and that is really just unfortunate.â€
Why would masks and vaccine passports be politicized in a vastly left voting state? Shouldn’t the little Democrat voting sheep follow what Government tells them? Surely they ignore the information that COVID cases skyrocketed after all these states mandated masks, and even tightened requirements over time. Cases were worse than the pre-mask time of the 1st wave. And we’re told that even with the full vaccine we aren’t really supposed to change our behavior.
As the pandemic continues, vaccination requirements by California employers, colleges and others will probably grow, particularly once the vaccines can be easily obtained and win formal federal government approval. Private companies and medical and education institutions are already working to produce a pass, akin to an airline boarding pass, that could be used digitally or printed out.
Just don’t call them that.
Scores of countries require that travelers carry “yellow cards†verifying inoculation against yellow fever or other diseases. In the United States, children have long been required to be vaccinated to attend schools and camps.
“What is new and different and what is scaring some people is the idea of vaccine verification not for employment or school registration but for daily activities,†Longhurst said. “You need to show it more frequently.â€

At the end of the day, it is up to a private entity on whether they require this or not. I think we can agree on that. Government playing games doesn’t help.
This is a great idea. A universal card listing all of your privileges and identities.
Place of residence and citizenship. All vaccinations. Rights that are in effect such as ability to drive a vehicle, vote in elections, practice law, collect public benefits, own and carry guns, etc.
One card to rule them all and in the darkness bind them.
Perhaps an electronic chip implant or a barcode tattoo that allows you to be scanned everywhere you go with little effort (government employees exempted of course).
Maybe we could call it The Mark of the Beast.

As long time follower of the Risen Christ, I have come to understand, after considerable study on the subject, the the “mark” will not be something as simple as an administrative ordinance, key fob, credit card sized object, or even implanted microchip. Insurance companies. It was the insurance industry that pressured congress to pass the seatbelt law.
Additionally REAGAN DID NOT force the states to do anything.
Title 49 of the United States Code, Chapter 301, Motor Safety Standard, which took effect on January 1, 1968, that required all vehicles (except buses) to be fitted with seat belts in all designated seating positions.
New York was the first state to pass a law which required vehicle occupants to wear seat belts, a law that came into effect on December 1, 1984….Hardly Ronald Reagan.

Just like the seat belt requirement. There’s no federal law that you wear a seat belt – however the states enact seat belt laws so they can get a bite of that huge Transportation bill funding.
By the end of 1987, several states had a mandatory seat belt law, including California, Florida, Indiana and Pennsylvania. By the end of the 1980s, South Carolina, Virginia, Wyoming and Illinois had laws as well.
SO HAIRY it was not REAGAN it was the states who mandated seat belt laws and the first law on the federal books only said automakers would include seat belts in all new cars beginning in 1968.

Ok, as usual, John is confused as to a subject of any kind. I am not sure about now, but in the past you had to secure a test for syphilis in order to get married. This was at the state level, as the states were the ones who could pass such an ordinance. The reason for this was that we were experiencing a syphilis epidemic in the 20’s and this was one of the only means of control until antibiotics. For that matter, if you entered a hospital as late as the 70’s you had a syphilis test whether you desired one or not and if positive it was turn over to the state control agencies. Was this socialism, hell yes. If you read your history you will find that Wilson and FDR were big into socialism and their attitudes effected the states. But, syphilis was a much bigger disease than the minor virus that has the liberal hysterical.
