Dem Georgia Senate Wins Could Push Through China Joe’s Climate Agenda Or Something

Of course, this all depends on the challenges to the results in the Georgia senate races. And for Democrats to get rid of the filibuster for everything. And the poor optics of Vice President Kamala Harris voting with the Democrats on every bit of legislation, which, while Constitutional, the optics of the Executive Branch being the deciding vote in the Legislative Branch will not be a good one

Control of Senate allows Democrats to act on Biden’s climate change agenda

Without a GOP-controlled Senate, Biden has greater leeway to pass climate change legislation. The former vice president’s climate action pledge includes an ambitious $2 trillion economic plan that would accelerate a clean-energy transition, cut carbon emissions from the electricity sector by 2035 and achieve net-zero emissions by 2050.

The goals of Biden’s climate plan are in line with targets set by other major economies including China and the European Union. However, many of the policies would have been blocked by a Republican-controlled Senate.

The $2 trillion plan will still be a tough sell even as Democrats take over the White House and Senate. But experts are optimistic for some broader bipartisan-backed climate legislation to pass in upcoming years.

“Democratic control of the Senate means funding for climate action and the energy transition through appropriations, policy advances through the reconciliation process, political support and messaging from Congressional leadership, and potentially, if one is being highly optimistic, big ticket climate legislation with some level of bipartisan support,” said Michael Burger, head of the Sabin Center for Climate Change Law at Columbia University.

Bipartisan climate legislation could address policies that target wind and solar energy, carbon capture and tax incentives for clean energy, among other things.

“For years people have been talking about Republicans in the Senate who favor climate action waiting for the opportunity to make a jailbreak from the party’s anti-climate, anti-environmental agenda,” Burger said. “Here’s the time to make the break.”

Any Republican who crosses over and votes with the Democrats on climate scam legislation will be primaried, and primaried hard, especially after all the election shenanigans from the Democrats that gave China Joe the win. Anyhow, if Democrats are super interested in passing legislation that is going to harm the economy, they’ll have to get rid of the filibuster. Do they have the cajones to do that? We’ll see. They should remember that they won’t be in control of Senate forever.

Climate change legislation has always been about the theft of money on a massive scale. Democrats have never been shy about massive corruption and theft. Now that they have unrestricted power, they will exercise it without restriction. Now that Democrats are in charge, we don’t need checks and balances or constitutional limits anymore.

The perfesser is worried about the nation now that Dems have narrow majorities in the House and Senate. This after the lawlessness of the trump regime.

Elections have consequences. The GOP needed to do a better job of suppressing voters.

      • Professor Hale says:

You still have nothing of interest to say on any topic. Troll the other guys who still enjoy your form of drivel.

        • Elwood P. Dowd says:

          Back atcha, perfesser. Back atcha…

But just because you don’t like your stupid lies being corrected doesn’t mean I’ll stop correcting your stupid lies.

“Climate change legislation has always been about the theft of money on a massive scale” No, it’s always been about slowing global warming.

“Democrats have never been shy about massive corruption and theft” No more than the GOPhers, and less than the trump regime.

“Now that they have unrestricted power, they will exercise it without restriction” No, the Dems do not have unrestricted power as they have narrow majorities in the House, Senate and the White House. The Constitution and the Supreme Court are restrictions on their power. Their decency compared to the lawless trump regime is a restriction.

“Now that Democrats are in charge, we don’t need checks and balances or constitutional limits” False. We always need checks and balances and constitutional limits. The lawless trump regime pushed American norms to the limit, but the Constitution held, but barely.

The new administration, House and Senate will attempt to advance policies they were elected to advance, including those on slowing global warming. The States, the courts, Supreme Court, Constitution and American norms are all restrictions. Just because you disagree violently with a particularly policy doesn’t make it unconstitutional.

Under Trump and Bush the budget was blown up. Deficit spending ran amuck. Under Obama the same thing happened.

We justified it with Katrina, 911 and then the pandemic and such. But in the end the deficits were out of control since Reagan with the exception of 2 years under Clinton. But our economy cannot expand without stimulus. The fed pumping trillions into the economy every year.

Right now 1/3rd of the dollars EVER PRINTED have been printed in the last 10 months. Something to think about. No party has a mandate right now. The Dems lost seats in the house, hold a 50-50 senate and stole the election from Trump because the billionaires willed it to happen.

Under Biden the GOP will suddenly find their fiscal responsibility again and holler about our Grand children as if they give a flying fuk about future generations.

NO one on Capital Hill cares about next week let along next decade or next century. They are too busy drinking cocktails and rubbing elbows with the few 1000 people that matter in America. The rest of us are just little people, with inconsequential hopes and dreams.

There is nothing worth saving in the current GOP. In the coming Months you will see the right express that openly and angrily.

      • Professor Hale says:

        Est1950,
The “mandate” isn’t a real thing. Under our current laws, every lever of power is now held by a single party, even if only narrowly. They will use it. They will not be conciliatory. They will not be moderate. We don’t need to guess how they will act when in power, we have plenty of examples of how they actually do it from cities to state governors. There is no need for checks and balances when all the checks and balances are on the same side.

      • Elwood P. Dowd says:

No, the election was not stolen, although the fuking traitor trump tried.

      • david7134 says:

I feel the US is gone. It matter little what horror awaits us with the stupidity of the liberals. We have found that the Dems have corrupted the voting process, subverted the laws, and announced an agenda which will complete the destruction of economic well being of our lives. The next logical step is to begin organizing groups to fight back. We would turn to the opposition party, but the Republicans have joined the Dems as a uniparty, their response to the steal was horrible as well as their inability to protect the vote in Georgia.
