Who’s Up For A Radical Proposal To Stop An Imaginary Issue?

I mean, I know what my recommendation is in order to stop the climate crisis (scam). I’ve mentioned it enough over the past 15 years

As Climate Disasters Pile Up, a Radical Proposal Gains Traction

As the effects of climate change become more devastating, prominent research institutions and government agencies are focusing new money and attention on an idea once dismissed as science fiction: artificially cooling the planet, in the hopes of buying humanity more time to cut greenhouse gas emissions.

That strategy, called solar climate intervention or solar geoengineering, entails reflecting more of the sun’s energy back into space — abruptly reducing global temperatures in a way that mimics the effects of ash clouds spewed by volcanic eruptions. The idea has been derided as a dangerous and illusory fix, one that would encourage people to keep burning fossil fuels while exposing the planet to unexpected and potentially menacing side effects.

But as global warming continues, producing more destructive hurricanes, wildfires, floods and other disasters, some researchers and policy experts say that concerns about geoengineering should be outweighed by the imperative to better understand it, in case the consequences of climate change become so dire that the world can’t wait for better solutions.

“We’re facing an existential threat, and we need to look at all the options,” said Michael Gerrard, director of the Sabin Center for Climate Change Law at the Columbia Law School and editor of a book on the technology and its legal implications. “I liken geoengineering to chemotherapy for the planet: If all else is failing, you try it.”

What could possibly go wrong? No worries, they’ll soon figure our a way to tax people for this while restricting their freedom, liberty, and choice.

Or, hear me out, climate cultists could

No fossil fueled flights. Practice what you preach. Live like it’s 1399.

The words ice age ring any bells?

    Tax !!! OMG
Teach at the current carbon footprint and cost of offsets it would cost only 150$ for the average American
    Would you even notice that?
Long fossil fueled air flights? The offset for that would be about 2% of your ticket price.

So what happens to the carbon produced by the JET that STILL FLIES?

Does paying a 150 bucks turn the dollars into Langoliers and eat the CO2 magically?

Who gets the 150 dollars? AOC? Bernie Sanders? What do they do with that 150 buks?

    • Jl says:

John doesn’t get that even if one paid a tax, the airplane will still fly. So the amount of CO2 expended would be exactly the same whether a tax was paid or not. These concepts are very difficulty to understand….

      John,
You do realize your excessive ignorance in presuming that a climate tax would be very limited in scope. Or are you stupid enough to think that the people here do not understand the consequences of such a recessive tax. Either way, you rank up there with Jeff in ignorance.

This is typical of the thinking of some people. (Actually the lack of thinking.) People who want to reach into the pockets of others and take and increased share of the people’s hard earned money always say “its only……”

The fact of the matter is that all of the little “its only’s) add up until people are bleeding from a thousand cuts.

Here in my little town, there was a proposal to tax people and the people supporting it said “it’s only a few Little Caesar pizzas a month.”

      We did the math.

The number of pizzas in our small little town this tax would take would cover a football field side to side, end zone to end zone and a height of 180 feet. We made a graphic with pizza boxes covering the local high school field. We then used data on the amount of pizza sold by the average Little Caesars and discovered that removing that many pizzas from the market would force the closing of every Little Caesars in the area, a Dominio’s and a Pizza Hut.

All those corporate pizza brands suck
It doesn’t help your argument to use pizzas that don’t taste significantly better than the cardboard boxes they gone in
Maybe a better comparison might have been 1 medium Dunkin’ Donuts coffee

        • Nighthawk says:

Leave it to you to miss the point. (not surprising)

Maybe think of it as something else that you probably hate as well.

How many kid’s lunches? Or how many breakfasts? Or how much baby formula?

If a perceived problem doesn’t exist just make up one along with a made-up “solution”.

“As climate disasters pile up…”. What climate disasters? These clown are just flat out lying-as far as disasters go they were much worse with less CO2.

It has been MUCH warmer in the past when people supposedly didn’t claim the planet and even a few times since man has. So why the hysteria? This too shall pass. People may have to move from the coasts. Stuff happens. in the late 60s we were told an ice age was coming, and recently it was announced that a colder period is coming. Will it make any difference? Probably not. Besides, I didn’t make the climate change any more than you did. It’s been proven for years that the earth heals itself (no more cries about the ozone levels, right?), so everyone should just chill out. Just like a virus, the climate is going to do what the climate is going to do, and no about of giant masks is going to change it.

Cindy, you must be one of those radical white, Christian science deniers that vote for Trump. You are cruel and insensitive. You don’t want to live in your private hell with lockdowns, riots and the government telling you what to buy, drive, how and where to live. You are a raaaaacist too. And a white supremacist. And ironically, a misogynist.

Welcome to the club! The Club of Distinguished American Patriots.

Trump 2020 any other vote is for BJ Harris and she’s as red as Mao.

The bait and switch plan seems pretty obvious to everyone by now….
    1) get behind Joe and try and get him elected. He is needed to assure the vote of moderate democrats….otherwise they lose.
    2) After ol’ Joe gets in, have him declared non compus mentis (which should be pretty easy)
    3) Kamala Harris, the most left wing member of the Senate, picked by the DNC, not Biden, becomes president.

Now, think for a moment, if you are a die-hard democrat (probably none reading here, lol}:
The most dedicated democrat voters are the ones that always participate in the dem primary. They are the most activist types. Well clearly, these people didn’t want Kamala. She never got beyond single digit percentages of the vote. She was forecast to lose her own state by an embarrassing margin, so she bowed out.

But if you are the oligarchs that run the DNC (read:Nazi Pelousy and Upchuck Schummer), they say “SCREW YOU, dedicated dem voters. We’ll install the person WE want”.
With each passing day, the DNC reminds me more and more of the old Soviet Politburo.
