I had this happen in Europe and they came away with all my credit card info. In this case he was getting communication information for the squad. The cops reacted appropriately. I am 70 and clearly know not to approach a bunch of cops in riot gear. He obviously learned his lesion.

We have not been told the whole truth about this story.
The police are trained to handle arrest suspects with care, and someone who does not resist is handled as gently as can be, because officers know that there are always people with cell phone cameras watching, and the officers don’t want to get in trouble. The police say that Mr Floyd resisted arrest, and that’s the only sensible thing to believe.
Now, once they had him secured, there was no reason for Officer Chauvin to persist the knee restraint, and since Mr Floyd died from it, he’s in big trouble. However, for Officer Chauvin to do that, there would almost have to be another reason. Eventually we are going to find that Mr Floyd was ‘known to the police’ for some reason. he had both meth and fentanyl in his system, which means he was a drug user, an active criminal. A 6’6″ tall and strong black guy, a previously convicted felon, using drugs and living in the ‘hood? What are the odds that he was this “gentle giant” he’s been portrayed as being? (The same tag was hung on Michael Brown, even though Mr Brown had just roughed up a shopkeeper half his size. Mr Dowd’s home state is better off with Mr Brown in the ground rather than above it.)
Whatever we eventually find out about Mr Floyd will not keep Mr Chauvin out of jail; he’s not just toast, but toast which fell on the floor, buttered side down. But he sure wasn’t an angel, and a guy that size who uses drugs, one who had lost his day job, just might be one of those selling them as well.
