    I don’t have any virtue signaling. I grew up in the Baltimore area and had lots of blacks as schoolmates from first grade on through college.

    It was in first grade I learned that they were violent, defensive, threatening, and wanted to fight over any little thing. They had a gang in first grade. With gang names. So fighting blacks became normal in every school I went to from first grade on. They were violent in elementary school, violent in middle school, violent in high school, and so on, until I got a college degree and moved away.

    I’m still friends with a few of the smarter ones thirty years later. One of them ended up as a celebrity photographer. The next door neighbor’s daughter married a black actor who was “the number one box office draw in Hollywood”. Another was a successful bicycle racer, another an organic farmer.

    A large part of the rest went to jail for assault, rape, theft, drugs, armed robbery, etc. I had to borrow guns to defend myself, even had to weapon up to get home from a christmas party in one piece. Barely. My brother got robbed and beaten unconscious by blacks, then the cops but HIM in a jail cell because he was incoherent from his head injury and had no ID. My brother ended up with permanent lesions on his brain which caused lifetime nerve problems and anger issues.

    The worst part of it all are the whites who still live in my old neighborhood who call anyone racist who doesn’t agree that growing up with all those blacks was good for us all. Enriching.

      And I grew up in the South, in a small town in Kentucky, one in which the public schools were integrated between my fifth and sixth grade years. The black guys weren’t in any gangs of which I was aware.

      We had a new locker room built for the football field for my senior year. It was a long rectangle, with the open locker stalls along the west, south and east walls. The black players had their lockers along the south and lower half of the east walls, with one exception: my locker was in the dead southeast corner. It wasn’t a deliberate choice, but it turned out to be a real advantage: while the white players played practical jokes, like putting atomic balm in other guy’s jocks, the black players did not mess with each other’s stuff . . . and my locker being in the middle of theirs left my equipment unmessed with.

      There were very few racial problems in our small town, because everybody knew everybody else. I am convinced that the problem isn’t race, but urbanization, with too many people packed too closely together.

      In quoting Thomas Jefferson and the Declaration of Independence, the esteemed Mr Dowd is, inter alia, quoting a document supporting armed rebellion.

      Was that your intention, Mr Dowd? Are you calling for armed rebellion? Do you want to see a political revolution decided upon by men with guns?

      If so, you might want to reconsider; the people with the most guns and ammunition in this country are the ones who would not be on your side, and the ones who have learned to actually aim their weapons before they shoot.

        Anyway, a social revolution has been simmering for decades, a result of government policies that overwhelmingly favor the concentration of wealth at the expense of the poor and working classes. A pandemic cratered the economy, harming blue collar workers more than white collar, and killing the Black, the poor. And the president is a frightened, insecure sociopath whose only response is hatred for the “other” – immigrants, Chinese, THUGS, Antifa, WHO, CDC… The murder of a black American by rogue police officers lit a fuse.

          Have you not told us, many times, that you are wealthy? ‘Twould seem to me that you’d be among the first ones stood up against the wall.

          I noted, on my poor site, that the mob are not your friends! CNN, which has been editorially supporting anything they think they can use against President Trump the George Floyd demonstrators, still had their Atlanta headquarters vandalized by the very mobs they support! Leigh Tauss, a ‘progressive’ editor of a small Raleigh liberal site, was supporting the demonstrations . . . and then they came and trashed her offices. But, like a good little sheeple, she then clarified her earlier tweets, saying “Just saying this again for those in the back: Yes, I am sad about the property damage. It’s a bummer but it’s also just a building. Black lives matter more.”

          Hope she enjoys being out of a job!

          There is a lesson for the left in the history of Maximilien de Robespierre. One of the instigators of the Terror, signing hundreds of arrest warrants, in the spring and summer of 1794, and then shortened by a head himself that July. The mob he instigated could not be controlled.

Same goes for you and your ridiculous quote of the Declaration of Independence. You ain’t no republican. I’m not sure you have ANYTHING in common with any American and I’m certain you have NOTHING in common with Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, Roger Sherman, John Adams or Robert Livingston. Their political philosophy is diametrically opposed to yours. You’re a poseur.

        The left have romanticized revolution, yet they know not for which they pine. The history of revolution is written in blood, and the American experiment is very much in the minority. Most revolutions have resulted in despotism, dictatorships which are more or less bloody, revolutions in which people like him — wealthy but elderly — shipped to the countryside to claw in the dirt with their fingers, or sent to the GULag, or simply shot.

        Despite his age, he is very much like the l’enfant terribles of the left, bitterly decrying capitalism on their iPhones in social media, living in their parents’ basements because they have no jobs.

    The longer we all rant and rave and rail about the riots and the protests the longer they go on and the more ground the left gains. They have NOTHING BUT RACISM to play on TRUMP. Hell they play that on any one right of Lenin. They play that on their own party in primaries.

    So I refuse to talk about race. At least not in this setting. Anyone want a job. I got one. White, Black, Hispanic, Asian? Leave your racism at home and lets go to work.

    As for cops. I suggest they are all hanged immediately. Lets start with the 47 percent of them that are black. Then Democrats will LOVE COPS AGAIN. //SNARK, SATIRE. I do not suggest hanging cops, but it just proves a point. This debate is so far out in left field by both sides its impossible to have a rational conversation about race in America.
