Raggy old jeans and a wife beater?

We do expect a higher class of babe here.

I don’t understand why the democrats are even having a primary season. The coronavirus is going to cause Trump to proclaim himself king and declare martial law and round up all leftist and send them to Mexico where Bernie will become the next great Mao.

Surely CNN and MSNBC have this conspiracy theory just waiting to go, along with a couple of dozen others and oh, by the way, let us not forget that soon Adam Schiff will start breaking out imaginary whistleblowers who overheard Trump conspiring with someone about something. Then there will be hidden meetings in the basement and leaks to the press that Trump is secretly an alien from Planet X and we are all being brainwashed with Flourine in our water.

*Ambassador Richard Grenell should have registered as a foreign agent for work he did for the Hungarian government, according to a new report inThe Washington Post.

The newspaper reported, “Grenell’s public relations firm was paid to do work for a U.S. nonprofit funded almost entirely by the Hungarian government led by far-right Prime Minister Viktor Orban.”

“The law requires people who advocate in the United States on behalf of a foreign power to register and disclose their activities. Grenell did not register, records show,” the paper noted.*

Big deal. It’s just a law and Trump IS THE LAW in America.

    • Kye says:

Okay, Elwood maybe he “should” have registered, maybe not. Don’t you think it behooves a stickler for law to wait for a trial before you pronounce him guilty? And BTW, what has that stupid “Trump IS THE LAW in America” shit supposed to mean? A guy did something that MAY be illegal but it’s Trumps’s fault?

You are everything that is destroying the Democrat Party. I hope you’re happy because of you Trump will wipe up the field in 2020. Thank you very much.

The WaPo says a lot of things, but fewer and fewer are true.

What Grenell’s old firm did is not his business.

Jeffery’s mad because the Demos are going down like a B-17 over Regensburg and nothing can stop it.

Even old Demo hacks like Chrissy Matthews are conjuring up memories of ’72 (toldja) because the Demos have told the world what a pack of Commies they are and how Trump never needed to rig anything against Gropin’ Joe because he’s as big a Lefty as anybody else. Add to that the Demos’ image as liars and you really haven’t got much for them to run on.

All of you, I am sure, have heard many cries about Government interference with business and about “creeping socialism.” I should like to remind the gentlemen who make these complaints that if events had been allowed to continue as they were going prior to March 4, 1933, most of them would have no businesses left for the Government or for anyone else to interfere with – and almost surely we would have socialism in this country, real socialism.
    — Harry S. Truman

    Was President Truman a communist?

  5. Elwood P. Dowd says:

I know that you have been hearing a lot of charges lately about Government interference with business, about the undermining of the free enterprise system, and about “creeping socialism.” In short, you have been hearing that the Government is doing everything possible to wreck every industry in the country.

Nothing could be further from the truth. The record shows that the Government action in recent years has been the salvation of private enterprise …

I know there are some people who still don’t believe that the policies of the Government have had anything to do with our present prosperity.

That reminds me of a story I heard on my recent nonpolitical trip. It seems that there was a rock-ribbed old gentleman of a political persuasion, shall we say, somewhat different from mine.
One of his friends asked him what man to vote for President in 1952.
“Well,” he said, “I would like to vote for Dewey.”
“Dewey!” said the friend. “Why Dewey?”
“Well,” he said, “I voted for him the last two times, in 1944 and in 1948, and business has never been so good as it is today” …

The funny thing is that this has all been said before. The current campaign is almost exactly like the campaign of the old Liberty League, back in 1935 and 1936. I was in that campaign, too, by the way. It uses the same old slogans, the same old scarewords, and the same old falsehoods. The only difference is that it sounds even more foolish now than it did 14 years ago.

    — Harry S Truman

      Quoting Truman means nothing.

He was a foul-mouthed haberdasher until he hit it lucky with the Prendergast machine.

It took Reagan to clear out a lot of the New Deal and the economy took off like a rocket.

      • Elwood P. Dowd says:

        Pendergast, not Prendergast.

Truman commanded an artillery battery in France during WWI and later served as a US Senator where he made a name by investigating corruption and waste in the defense department, saving taxpayers billions.

Raygun did not clear out a lot of the New Deal and the economy took off under President Clinton. Raygun and BushI nearly tripled the national debt by increasing defense spending and cutting taxes on the wealthy.

Much of what Cons believe to be true, is not.

        • Liljeffyatemypuppy says:

Clinton benefitted from the policies of Reagan and Bush Sr. that turned the Carter economy around.
Although it’s not very difficult to understand the muddled reasoning of a dimwitted little sissybitch who once claimed Reagan invaded Panama in 1989, he’s wrong again. https://www.thepiratescove.us/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_scratch.gif

I have no doubt that you will reject this, but during the depression and WWII, the government took over many business and the implementation of contracts. It was, socialism by any form of the word.

FDR eventually had an advisory board made up of capitalists and captains of industry because while the government was spending money, projects were taking too long and always over costs. The issue was government interference.

The industrialists said “let us loose,” and that’s what happened. Production increased. More people were slowly starting to go back to work and be productive.

There were barriers to this – namely the unions who did not care about production.

In fact, during WWII, once the government turned over production to people who knew how to produce, the “arsenal of democracy” was unleashed and the major barrier was the unions.

Against the desires of the unions, people were producing goods and products from their homes. People were earning money by having lathes, sewing machines, presses, etc within their homes.

So socialism and unions were preventing the growth of the economy as well as the war effort.

A great example of this was the barrel shroud if the .50 cal machine gun. The government specified the number of cooling holes and the location of the holes. The guns were overheating and the government estimated that it would take a year to fix the problem. A guy on the assembly line whose son was in the Army looked at the problem and innovated a different shroud which was actually cheaper to make. The government initially rejected the fix, but the private factories started producing the shroud and it worked. The government approved the shroud after thousands of the weapons were shipped.

We all get that you like government regulations (except for those on your industry. We all get that you hate the US. We all get that you hate people with ideas that are different than yours. We all get that you hate women, children and people of faith. We all get that you hate science.

Now you are starting or continuing down the path of hating history, and using meme quotes as some sort of “proof” of your ideas. The problem is that while Truman was trying to protect the power and authority of the government in a socialist form, the people had already proved that capitalism and limited government involvement was better.

If they hadn’t you’d be speaking Japanese and German now.

Your hatred is so blinding but then again, all the left has is hate.

      • david7134 says:

I might add a little. Look at the development of the torpedo. The U.S. did not have a functioning torpedo for the first several years of the war as government officials said it worked perfect, despite a lack of preproduction trials and numerous deaths attributed to nonfunction.

The the unions engineered constant strikes that froze transportation across the country, again harming the war effort.

But my favorite was when a supply ship docked at Midway island as the Japanese were bearing down on the island. The Union would not allow off loading of the ship due to a lack of Union workers. Fortunately the Marines had a different opinion.

Unions have ever been for helping out country and have outlived their mission.

      • Elwood P. Dowd says:

Much of what gitarcarver believes is nonsense. President Truman’s point was that Republicans label any program that helps all Americans as socialism or communism.

We all get that you hate regulations that protect workers and the environment. We all get that you hate the US of the people. We all get that you hate people with ideas different from yours. We all get that you hate women, children and people with faiths different from yours. We all get that you hate science. We all get that you lie.

        All you have is hate.

        • gitarcarver says:

Much of what gitarcarver believes is nonsense.

Projecting again. I have facts on my side. You don’t.

President Truman’s point was that Republicans label any program that helps all Americans as socialism or communism.

When one goes back and looks at the context of the quotes, that is not Truman’s point at all. I wouldn’t expect you to do actual research, which is why your conclusions are completely off.

We all get that you hate regulations that protect workers and the environment….

          Really? Prove it.

Amazing. Not one thing you said was true.

PS – saw this earlier from you:

I’m keeping my firearms for protection from people like you.

So once again the hating and hypocritical left demand others give up their weapons, but they want to keep theirs.

You even hate your own beliefs.

That’s what happens when you hate. It’s all the left has.
