Trump’s Budget Looks To Slash Funding To Hotcoldwetdry Centers

Knowing what the climate is doing is a good thing. Funding people who are essentially doomsday cultists? Not so much

Trump budget calls for slashing funds to climate science centers

President Trump’s budget proposes closing a network of climate science centers, prompting concerns the administration will hamstring climate change research while booting employees from the federal workforce.

Trump’s fiscal year 2021 budget would slash funding for the National and Regional Climate Adaptation Science Centers, eliminating all $38 million for research to help wildlife and humans “adapt to a changing climate.”

Rather than fund all eight regional centers along with the national one, the budget instead calls for just one center, at a cost of $20 million.

The restructuring plans follow similar steps employed by the Trump administration, where agencies with research ties are reshuffled or relocated, often prompting a reduction in staff.

Um, wildlife has always adapted to climate changes. They don’t need mankind’s help. Of course, what these centers really do is come out with doomsaying prognostications and recommendations to spend even more money, with the taxpayer funding them. Do we really need 8 apocalyptic centers?

Why stop there? Get rid of the EPA, it has served its purpose as defined in the 70’s and has been weaponized by Obama and the communist. For that matter, demand that all aspects of the government justify their reason for being and ax them if they are useless, like most. Imagine the tax savings.

      • Elwood P. Dowd says:

Defense, Medicaid, Medicare, Social Security and Interest on the exploding debt account for 75% of expenditures. Eliminating EPA, FBI, CBP, ICE, NOAA, NASA, CIA, FTC, FCC, SEC, State, Energy, Congress, the courts, DOJ, unemployment pay, Space Force!, Secret Service, UN, Treasury, FDA, USDA, HUD, Veterans Benefits, fed pensions, NIH, NSF, NCI, Nat Park Service and on and on will save some 25%.

What would you keep? Veterans Benefits? DOJ? Courts? ICE? FBI?

        • Chumpchange says:

If that is so Elwood how you gonna pay for FREE COLLEGE…FREE Medical CARE. Free Housing. Guaranteed income?

IF the budget is so horrific how you gonna pay for all the LIES your side is promising?

You know they are lies. Democrats aint got shit to offer people except a 3 percent raise on their welfare as long as the poor blacks and whites and asians get back on the plantation where they belong and vote for democrats.

          • Chumpchange says:

Oh yeah Elwood and how you gonna forgive 1.6 trillion in student debt? How are you gonna pay for AGW.

I know lets tax everyone including the corporations by 100 percent and then we can all live in apartments like China.

You First. Give up your home and guns and all your nice stuff that cushy life has given you and move into a high rise in Detroit and submit to the collective.

You first elwood. Really. You first.

Not sure if you’re trying to make a point. Mine was that 75% of our gov’t spending is on very popular programs. Unless you’re interested in making minor reductions you’ll need to attack the big 4 programs (we can’t cut interest without defaulting on our obligations).

How did we get here? Reagan and George HW nearly tripled the national debt with tax cuts and defense spending, Clinton raised taxes and rode a good economy for finally balance yearly budgets, George W cut taxes and invaded Iraq. Obama cut taxes and increased spending on Medicaid and unemployment. tRump cut taxes and plans to increase defense spending.

How large a tax cut are people like david and you wanting?

          • formwiz says:

No, 75% is to people who don’t produce. If you dropped Medical Assistance and welfare and privatized Social Security, the Demos would lose their cash cows.

Democrat politicians are the only ones with whom these things are “popular”.

            “We” didn’t get here.

Zippy spent on everything. The Demos have been spending since Franklin Roosevelt and taxing anybody they didn’t like. That only attenuates bad times.

Get rid of welfare and Social Security. And the income tax. Thne budget will balance itself.

And cutting taxes creates revenue. Raising them lowers it.

Just ask the IRS. People like to spend when they have money which provides more opportunities to collect revenue .

How large a tax cut are people like david and you wanting?

If the government wants to return some of my money, I never say, “No”.

BTW How large a tax cut do you want?

        • formwiz says:

Can’t eliminate Congress and the courts. Defense, either. That Constitution thingy, you know.

That leaves Medicaid, Medicare, and Social Security.

A lot of that could go and we’d be better for it.

And, if the Lefties are so worried about the debt, why isn’t the Squad screaming about it?

Rep. Jim Banks (R-Ind.) told The Epoch Times “the way to stop this from happening is to go through the budget-making process,” but “Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and House Democrats were so busy trying to impeach Trump last year that they forgot to write a budget.”

    • Kye says:

That’s all part of their master plan, Liljeffy. The 332 billion went into the pockets of managerial state and administrative state supporters of the left as well as their lobbyists and power brokers, and judges and paid subversives. It’s unreported campaign payoffs for leftist Democrats now openly known as communist pigs, traitors.

Trump 2020 Throw out the Deep State!

You live in a fantasy world not based on reality. All conspiracies and disinformation. Sad. Where do you get your information or is it all made up? Do you have a source?

        • alanstorm says:

‘You live in a fantasy world not based on reality. All conspiracies and disinformation.’

Says the one who thinks “climate change” is “settled science”.

  3. formwiz says:

    As opposed to you.

And this “disinformation” comes from the CBO. Now that’s sad

So the question goes back to you, where do you get your information?

We know better than to ask for sources. Area 51 is tough to reach on weeknights.

  4. alanstorm says:

Slashing the funding of groups whose purpose is to secure more funding?

    More of this, please.
