FYI: Amy Klobuchar Is Not Moderate

With her nice showing in New Hampshire, and Elizabeth Warren fading, the media and the #NeverTrumpers have taken to calling Klobuchar a moderate. She’s anything but. Back in 2006 she was all for border security. In 2020, she’s completely flipped, wanting all border fencing done away with. She will no longer support E-Verify unless it is paired with a blanket amnesty. She further wants to dramatically increase bringing the dregs of 3rd world nations into the U.S.

Here’s her climate page

Amy is deeply committed to tackling the climate crisis and believes that it is an urgent priority for our communities, for our economy and for our planet. She is a co-sponsor of a Green New Deal and has signed the No Fossil Fuel Money Pledge.  On day one of Amy’s presidency she will get us back into the International Climate Change Agreement. On day two and day three, she will bring back and strengthen clean power rules and gas mileage standards that the Obama Administration put into place.  And she will put forward sweeping legislation that provides a landmark investment in clean-energy jobs and infrastructure, provides incentives for tougher building codes, promotes rural renewable energy and development, supports a landmark carbon pricing system that does not have a regressive impact on Americans, promotes “buy clean” policies, and puts our country on a path to achieving 100% net-zero emissions no later than 2050. Read more about Amy’s climate policies here.

Doesn’t look particularly moderate, eh? Bringing back, or at least attempting, since it was on hold due to lawsuits, Obama’s Clean Power Plan, which would skyrocket energy costs. Giving the federal government even more control of the way we build our homes.

From her detailed plan in the above link

Make politicians accountable to voters, not special interests. Again and again, bold action on climate has been blocked by the power of special interests. As President, Senator Klobuchar will put people first by working to pass a constitutional amendment to overturn Citizens United and get dark money out of our politics, as well as establish a campaign finance system that increases the power of small donors through a matching system for small donations. She will investigate potential wrongdoings and hold energy companies accountable.

Hmm, so, using Hotcoldwetdry for the Dems pet peeve, Citizens United.

Hey, and you know how they said they weren’t trying to force people to take trains?

Strengthen transit and commuter rail networks and support low- and no-carbon alternatives. As President, Senator Klobuchar will refocus federal transportation grants to prioritize transit projects, first and last mile connections, and bicycle and pedestrian improvements. She will also develop new incentives for transit systems and school districts to replace their existing bus fleets with low- and no-carbon alternatives.

Revitalize freight and passenger rail. Railroads are an energy- and cost-effective way for producers to bring their goods to market and get people where they need to go.

Huh.

Innovate in international shipping and aviation. International shipping and aviation account for a growing share of carbon emissions. As President, Senator Klobuchar will support research and strengthen international agreements to reduce emissions from sources like aviation and shipping.

And she’ll make it too expensive for you plebes to fly.

Create a “Buy Clean” product labeling system. Many consumers are concerned about how their purchasing decisions affect the climate. As President, Senator Klobuchar will create a “Buy Clean” product labeling system to give consumers clear information about products that are produced to minimize their climate impact.

More Big Government interference. This continues on for quite some time, with her wanting Los Federales involved in everything, including farming in the heartland Democrats so hate, then getting to

Support communities that are most directly experiencing the effects of climate change. Traditionally marginalized communities including African Americans, Latinos, Native Americans, and Americans with disabilities are experiencing some of the most severe effects of climate change. Senator Klobuchar will prioritize assisting these communities as they adapt to the effects of climate change.

Same old diversity garbage, with Amy telling these people that only Los Federales can take care of them, which includes building them houses and massively increasing things such as SNAP.

She further wants a carbon tax. And increasing the corporate tax to 25% to pay for all this. And close the trust fund “loophole.” Do away with the non-existent subsidies for fossil fuels companies. Stop all new fossil fuels permits. So, don’t say she’s even close to being a moderate. She’s as Authoritarian as Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

Senator Klobuchar is certainly a moderate compared to tRump, Senators Sanders or Warren.

Taking the word of Breitbart or TEACH is risky, but we’ll assume their tales are only slightly misleading.

Only right-wingers deny the reality of global warming, so her stance there is hardly a discriminator.

She opposes the tRump Wall (as do most Americans), she wants comprehensive immigration reform (as do most Americans), she wants to bring legal immigration back to the levels of 4 years ago. All moderate, George W Bush type, positions.

Most Americans would like to see Citizens United overturned.

Senator Klobuchar is almost moderate enough to be one of those elusive moderate GOPher’s that used to exist but are now extinct. She too would be a better president than Crooked Don.

TEACH is full of shit on this one.

    • Kye says:

Klodbugger is not a moderate compared to any of the people you named. She’s a fukin’ leftist. Compared to Trump she’s a commie and compared to the other two commies she’s still a commie.

You don’t need to take Breitbarts word for anything because you willfully block out the truth anyway.

You think everybody who supports America a “right winger” so you need to be more specific when you generalize 100 million people. Since I’ve explained to you SEVEN times now I’ll try once more: conservatives DO NOT DENY global warming. We challenge the effect humans have on it and if it’s as bad as you say. Especially since not one single prediction regarding AGW has come true.

The “Trump Wall” as you call it is supported by most Americans, not opposed. On immigration she’s basically “let’em all in”. BTW, Bush’s position was bullshit.

BTW, “most Americans” don’t know Citizens United from bear shit. And those “elusive moderate GOPhers” were always Democrat lights. She too will be cheated by your own DNC.

Trump 2020 Then let’s rip the left a new azz hole.

I, for one, would love to see Klobuchar as the 2020 Demo presidential nominee.

    Explain Moderate Elwood?

There now you can take Politicos’ word.

  4. Chumpchange says:

    Democratic rules to get elected.

Lie to your own voters. Those guys in the primaries who you have to appease to get the nomination.

Tell them what they want to hear.

Rule two. Once elected, bow before AOC and the firing SQUAD. They will now tell you what you really believe.

Rule three. Do nothing, smile a lot and act like a rock star and everyone will love you.

Rule four. Don’t do anything that will harm wall street or big business. We need them to bash around and keep people voting for democrats.

Rule Five. Make sure to keep the black people hopeless and in poverty. DO NOT do anything to help them because we have convinced them that Republicans are their enemy.

Rule Six. If anyone accuses you of doing anything wrong, refer them to the Main Stream Media so they can defend you.

Rule Seven. Make lots of foreign deals and send lots of OUR people over there so we can get richer, then deny you know anything about it. No one will care. The republicans are spineless cowards and the MSM are all communist wannabes.

There now that you understand how to become a good Democratic president remember always tell a lie because Americans dont like the truth.

  5. Dana says:

    Senator Amy Klobuchar Bessler¹ wrote:

Revitalize freight and passenger rail. Railroads are an energy- and cost-effective way for producers to bring their goods to market and get people where they need to go.

Except, of course, the railroads only deliver from railroad station to railroad station, not door-to-door. Unless you have a facility which has its own rail siding, you still have to use a truck to take your goods to the railroad station, and then your customer has to use a truck to fetch his goods from the railroad station to his facility. That’s two extra times having to handle product, increasing labor costs.

And I’m guessing that I’m the only one who comments here who has had actual experience with receiving product by rail. At two different plants, we had rail sidings to receive cement by railcar. Railcars carry about 100 tons of cement, where getting cement delivered by truck means 25 to 27 tons per load.

Thing is, when I would order a railcar of cement from the plant in Roanoke, Virginia, to be delivered to my plants in Hampton and Norfolk, it would take a few days for the cars to make it to the rail terminals in Newport News and Norfolk, and then we had to wait on the railroad to find the time to deliver the cars to our sidings.

Then, after the railcars were delivered, we had to pump the cement from the cars into the silos on the plant. The one in Hampton wasn’t too bad, though it was a pain in the ass, and I have had to fix discharge valves on more cars than I care to count. But in Norfolk, because the siding was so far from the plant, we were having to pump cement a quarter of a mile through underground pipes, underneath I-264, then under a parking lot, and it required a 600 horsepower electric motor to do that. That siding had a dedicated employee to do nothing but run and maintain the siding and pumping station.

Eventually we gave up on cement by rail, when a trucking company made the bid to deliver cement by truck more cheaply than we could get it by rail.

¹ – Though Mrs Bessler has not shown enough respect for her husband to have taken his name, I will not show the same disrespect for him; I always refer to married women by their appropriate honorifics and names.

    • Elwood P. Dowd says:

¹ – Though Mrs Bessler has not shown enough respect for her husband to have taken his name, I will not show the same disrespect for him; I always refer to married women by their appropriate honorifics and names.

You certainly don’t call a woman unwanted names to show respect to her husband, you do it to show your disrespect for the woman. If it doesn’t bother her husband, why should it bother you? If her husband were to request you not call his wife names would you stop? What is gained by offending those you meet?

Does the present day Trump family disrespect their ancestors by using the anglicized Trump instead of the family name Drumpf? Drumpf Towers!

      • Dana says:

If a woman does not respect her husband enough to take his name, she is not a woman worth marrying, period.

      • Kye says:

You really can’t help yourself can you? Every discussion no matter how far remote from having anything to do with Trump you find it a necessity to introduce him some way, some how and in a demeaning or derogatory way. What on earth does Anglicizing the name Drumpf have to do with anything Bessler? You have Trump on the brain. You are getting closer and closer to a complete breakdown.

Drumpf 2020 A rose is a rose. As long as it’s not a commie leftist we all win.

      • Dana says:

And “If it doesn’t bother her husband,” well, he might be a male, but he certainly isn’t a man.

        • Elwood P. Dowd says:

You need to dominate women to be a “man”? You gotta stamp your name on her to show you own her. Hardly surprising. Why not tattoo it on her forehead?

Should women be subservient to men in all things?

Is this a religious stance or a sign of doubt about your own masculinity?

And why do you care so much about the relationships of others? Cons seem so worried about what others do.

Do you see your white male hetero privilege being eroded by tolerance and freedom? Women deciding what they want to be called! Same sex marriage!! Black Presidents!!!

          What’s next… ”

Dr. Peter Venkman: This country is headed for a disaster of biblical proportions.
Mayor: What do you mean, “biblical”?
Dr. Raymond Stantz: What he means is Old Testament, Mr. Mayor, real wrath-of-God type stuff. Fire and brimstone coming down from the sky! Rivers and seas boiling!
Dr. Egon Spengler: Forty years of darkness! Earthquakes, volcanoes…
Winston Zeddmore: The dead rising from the grave!
Dr. Peter Venkman: Human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together – MASS HYSTERIA!

          • Kye says:

Elwood, why on earth are you going batshit crazy about what Dana wants to call someone? Who cares?

I mean you got domination in there and subservience and religious tenets, tattooing, white -hetero-male privilege, same sex marriage and of course the obligatory racist black president invocation. Finally the gratuitous reference to Ghostbusters.

And you have the nerve to ask “And why do you care so much about the relationships of others?”while you’re throwing a hissy fit about Dana.
BTW, “Cons seem so worried about what others do” is your usual projection. Do I need to recount all the laws and regulations you reds want to pass to stop what others do?

That’s the problem with you leftist radicals. You’re always so sure you’re right and we’re evil you can’t discuss anything at a normal pace you go from STOP to 100mph in a NY second. You need to calm down and stop the hate. Try a cruising speed for once instead of warp.

At least you managed to get through one comment without bitching about Trump. I’ll count that as a psychological improvement for you. Congrats! One day at a time.

Now I’m gonna go pick up my new Colt 1911 .45 pistol and my new Ruger Mini and a boatload of ammo which have arrived at my gun shop. TTFN

          • Elwood P. Dowd says:

He went out of his way to publicly attack a US Senator and her husband with his bizarre beliefs.

Why not ask Dana why he thinks others should tolerate his bigotry and hatred?

Why does HE care what a woman prefers to be called? What kind of bully is he to call a woman names?

We get it, he’s being a dick, just like tRump. LOL

Let me know if you’d like to discuss the actual issue rather than going batshit crazy and going on another of your unhinged rants.

Good for you! I have two gun safes filled with firearms.

        • Elwood P. Dowd says:

Let us see if we have this right. You don’t want to disrespect the husband by calling his wife what she prefers to be called, but you’re OK disrespecting him by saying he’s not a real man?

          That sure makes sense.
