Oxford Students Demand Divestment, Get Rude Awakening To The Real World

See, some special brainwashed climate cultists at St. Johns College wanted the school to divest from fossil fuels. And bursar Andrew Parker had a reply for them

You aren’t going to be able to read the article, because it is behind a real paywall. Which is sad, because The Times Of UK has some really good articles. Anyhow, this caused the students to melt down, with them responding “This is an inappropriate and flippant response by the bursar to what we were hoping would be a mature discussion. It’s January and it would be borderline dangerous to switch off the central heating.”

And Mr. Parker had a reply for them

Excellent. “It is all too easy to request others to things that carry no personal cost to yourself.” I might have to change the tagline in the blog header to that.

The Wall Street Journal covers this story, and notes that the school has $10 million of its endowment invested in Shell and BP. That investment helps run the school. Someone in the WSJ comments writes “EnviroFascists version of NIMBY.” Warmists are rarely willing to practice what they preach, but they are happy to try and push it on Other People.

Go fossil free.org has a lust of over 1000 organizations that are divesting from some or all fossil fuel companies
    30% are faithbased organizations
    Others include the Rockefeller Foundation
If you read the list of over 1000you will see that many U.K. universities have already done so

    • Chumpchange says:

Awesome John. I am all for all these companies and countries going fossil free. If they all do that then they will lower c02 output way below the minimums allowing the USA to continue to pollute and party down.

Are you down with that John? Or did you invest in alternative energy and so you are like Obama who said the University of Phoenix would no longer be able to get the GI bill funding. Their stock tanked. Collapsed. Then his best buddy bought up all the shares and low and behold.

Obama reversed his decision and he and his buddy became filthy rich.

      Why wasn’t he impeached John?

      • Professor Hale says:

That’s the thing. They are divesting from fuel stocks, but not from using fossil fuel-based energy. So all just posturing and virtue signaling with no real cost to themselves. As long as they are using energy, they are part of the problem, not part of the solution.

      • John says:

Please give a citation that Obama made money from University of Phoenix
Otherwise it is just a wild accusation
University of Phoenix was a huge scam yet the GOP controlledCongress

        • Kye says:

Google it yourself, that’s what you make us do. Besides, your new leftist standard is “unidentified sources” so live with it. BTW, why would it matter who controls Congress if someone committed a crime? Is it now Congress’s fault there are criminals? The GOP may have “controlled” Congress but the Phoenix Scam had all Democrat fingerprints all over it. Sources that wish to remain anonymous hinted the Obummers netted about 6 million from the scam which they partially used to purchase a home in Martha’s Vineyard.

Trump 2020 Keep the corrupt Dems hands off the money.

      John,
      Why were you in jail??

The pressure will ow begin mounting toward the fevered pace by election day about all causes leftist. There will be zero non-left, non communist, non socialist, non abortion, non immigration stories or movements or things of note in the Fake Media. Only that which fits The Narrative will see the light of day.

For example, this Saturday on Investigation Discovery will be featured a program entitled “In Memoriam” which is about “the killed and the survivors of mass shootings in America”. The obviously one sided anti gun one and a half hour rant will no doubt tug at everyone’s heart strings by featuring the survivors of people (mostly children I’d bet) and their personal loss. It’s all real and it’s all sad and I hate to see people so severely harmed by random acts of violence but blaming guns for the acts of people isn’t reasonable, but nothing is about this topic.

I can give these deeply harmed and forever changed victims a pass but I cannot give a pass to leftist partisans who want to give away our birthrights because they don’t always turn out as we want. I also can’t give leftists a pass for exploiting and manipulating victims for partisan gain. They do the same with children (Greta) and the poor (except in Dem run cities) and many other victims of opportunity.

The tempo of ridiculous and nasty lies, obfuscations and just plain ignoring things they don’t like will intensify as we near November. The tech oligopoly is already finding neat new ways of censoring ads by any Republican and Trump especially. Watch and see.

As you read this there are armies of radical leftist lawyers and party operatives in every single state plus DC printing out fake ballots, “revising” voter rolls and registrations and generally planning dozens of ways to cheat and if that don’t work, challenge in court every district they don’t win and every vote for Trump. Right now I guarantee the left is finding out who the electors will be so they can be leveraged or bribed so that 2016 does not occur again.
