Alan Dershowitz appeared on Fox with Chris Wallace and couldn’t even out debate Wallace, a Democrat who is a reporter and not a lawyer or constitutional law scholar. In fact, it appeared Wallace knew more about the Constitution that did Dershowitz.
Trump has hired himself a bunch of cronies whose entire defense seems to be rooted in Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and Laura Ingram poo-pooing of the democrats rather than dismantling the extravagant timeline the Democrats laid out which is flawed in so many ways.
From what I have seen so far from Trump’s defense, it is as if they believe they do not need to mount a defense. They are simply counting on 51 senators to say no to witnesses and end the trial early.
I hope Trump didn’t pay too much for these lawyers because they seem to be coached by Rudi Guiallani and their piss poor performance may end up seeing Trump impeached. I wonder if they are really more deep staters who have no interest in defending Trump and more of an interest in seeing him removed.
Trump is a spiteful person who is very hard to stomach. But I do not care about that. I care he is getting stuff done. The problem…. so does the democrats and the things he is getting done is opposed to every fiber of their being.
Look for this trial to last several more weeks because of the shoddy lawyer’s trump has surrounded himself with.
The trump strategy was to get a posse of TV lawyers familiar to his base, with the only goal to give the GOP Senators the thinnest of excuses to vote for acquittal. Only a “January” surprise could hobble their plan.
Too bad if it turns out like all the other surprises – Christine Floozy Ford, Mule Ears, Avenatti, etc.
