Ireland Looks To Ban Fossil Fueled Vehicles To Stop Climate Apocalypse

So, will the Ireland government be getting rid of their own fossil fueled vehicles? How about boats? Get rid of the airports?

New Law to Ban Petrol and Diesel Cars in Ireland to Avoid ‘Climate Apocalypse’

The government of Ireland is preparing to ban the registration of new petrol and diesel cars by the year 2030 as a part of its “Climate Action Plan”.

Drivers in Ireland will be forced to buy electric vehicles within ten years according to a new law by the left-wing government in Dublin.

By banning the registration of new petrol and diesel cars the government aims to have one-third of the cars on Irish roads be powered by electric batteries, totaling some 936,000 electric vehicles and hybrids, reports RTE.

The initiative is part of a broader campaign to avert a ‘climate apocalypse‘ by making Ireland carbon neutral by the year 2050.

Because we can all afford a $40k minimum electric vehicle, right?

Tesla starts at 35000 before incentives the first Tesla taxis are entering New York City fleets
Hyundai’s Kona offers 258 mile range enough to go from one end of Ireland to the other and offers lifetime battery warranty and costs 37000$
And e-vehicle range and price keep getting better
No doubt other companies will be soon matching Hyundai’s lifetime battery warranty

If they’re that fukin good why does the government need to pass a law FORCING everybody to buy them? The government doesn’t need to pass a law forcing people to buy hamburgers, they sell themselves. Why does every leftist idea incorporate the force of law to enact it? Why the bullying?

        Kye,

I agree. Why not apply a Pigovian tax to internal combustion engine powered vehicles to help offset the damage they do to the Earth? Maybe 20% of the sale price. Therefore, one can still buy a million dollar V12 Pagani, although it would lose a drag race to a Tesla.

That way the freedom to keep and bear the auto of your choice would not be infringed.

And why are we forced to stop at stop signs??? Or why are we forced to mow our yards, obey zoning laws, not buy heroin and not dump our rubbish in the back yard? We can’t employ children or undocumented immigrants. The libs even make us put mufflers on our cars. We can’t buy “good” Freon, anthrax, or plutonium. Why the bullying?

        • Kye says:

Your usual logic. If we are “forced” to mow our laws or stop at stop signs well then we can and should be FORCED to do everything our betters tell us to do. Is that the kind of life you want? I don’t. If you like being told everything move to N. Korea or Cuba but if you ;ove America (like you say you do) leave us alone. You can’t seem to be able to think clearly because of hate and bullying.

“By opposing every affordable, abundant, reliable form of energy, the Green New Deal won’t protect us from an existential threat; it is an existential threat.”

Trump 2020 Throw the climate bullies out!

      John,
Think of the pollution of the electric car and how it is much worse than traditional.

    • Jl says:

That’s not the point, John. There’s absolutely no reason to ban fossil fuel vehicles.

While we all trust Teach and Breibart, other sources report that Ireland is proposing banning the SALES of new internal combustion engine (ICE) propelled cars and trucks in 2030, allowing the sales of plug-in hybrids and fully electric.

Note too that Ireland expects to have 1/3 of autos electric. If they ban driving of ICE cars what are the other 2/3 driving?

  3. Jl says:

That was close-thanks to Ireland we’ll now have 12 yrs and 1day left…..
