Bummer: Democrat Attacks On Comrade Bernie’s Green New Deal Is A Clear And Present Danger

The hardcore members of the Cult of Climastrology are unhappy over those Leftists who aren’t crazy hardcores saying Comrade Bernie’s GND is a steaming pile of mule fritters. The subhead tells you where this is going, a fight between the hardcores and the casual Warmists

Neoliberals’ Attack on Sanders’ GND Plan Is a Clear and Present Danger
Democratic Party leaders, the mainstream press, and many in the paid punditocracy are still asking if we can “afford” to implement a program that is—quite literally—necessary

Last week Bernie Sanders released his version of the Green New Deal—a $16.3 trillion 10-year plan to get down to zero carbon in the power industry and in transportation. Right on schedule, the neoliberal establishment pounced on it as “too expensive,” not “realistic” and not “prudent.” Just as they had with other proposals that would have averted the certain physical and fiscal disaster that climate change will cause.

While the neoliberals are posing as prudent, the nature of their attacks on the GND shows they are anything but. Exhibit A has to be the Washington Post‘s anti-GND screed/editorial published on Aug. 25. It violates nearly every tenet of good journalism. For starters, it is really more of an ad hominem attack on progressivism in general and Sanders in particular than it is a reasoned challenge to the GND. But then it goes on to make so many false statements it risks becoming a parody.

So, wait, the Green New Deal is really all about Progressivism (known as Nice Fascism) and not “the environment”? Huh. In fact, the article goes on to discuss jobs, which Comrade Bernie says he will create (just like the Soviet Union created them) out of thin air, more than any environment issues.

The Post‘s objections are not unique. The mainstream press is littered with similar sophistry, and the Democratic Party’s neoliberal establishment is repeating them endlessly, as is the network of think tanks, foundations, and not-for-profits that makes up the Democratic Party’s establishment. In a sense, these groups are even more dangerous than the deniers in the Republican Party’s camp. As evidence that climate change is happening now piles up, the deniers are increasingly like the guy who says, “Who you gonna believe? Your lying eyes or me?”

Almost no one is saying the climate hasn’t changed. The debate is on causation. Regardless, you can see that the hardcore Warmists are getting even more hardcore, because this is about hardcore leftist politics, not the climate, not the environment.

The thing is, most of these “realists”—including the DNC, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, and the rest of the neoliberal Democrats—seem more concerned with campaign contributions than they are with prudence. When they ridicule so-called radical ideas like the GND, and invoke prudence, they’re suggesting we can negotiate with the inexorable forces of physics, but you can’t negotiate with physics… that’s a loser’s game if there ever was one.

So, now the DNC and Nancy Pelosi are “neoliberals”, which seems to be a pejorative in Warmist World.

Now, even the staid and conservative IPCC says we are on the brink of a global ecological disaster and only radical, immediate action taken at an unprecedented scale can avert it.

The time for measured or reasonable or “realistic” responses has come and gone. But the leaders of the Democratic Party, the mainstream press, and many in the paid punditocracy are still asking if we can “afford” to implement a program that is—quite literally—necessary to salvage a planetary life support system capable of sustaining civilization as we know it.

Talk about imprudent.

Remember, this line of thought comes from people who refuse to make major changes in their own lives to practice what they preach.

White House dot gov had a great page up the other day.

A picture of Hillary Clinton standing in front of a POTUS platform with a mic in her hand and a caption reading.

OPPPSSS….the page your looking for does NOT EXIST.!!

This is what the left cant get about the right. We are having fun, not doom and glooming our way thru life because a transgender movie didnt get made because the bitching us actress in the world backed out of the movie because the SJW on the left forced her too because the part should go to a real Trans. The problem is Elizabeth Warren was busy and Joe Biden couldnt remember the lines.

    • Elwood P. Dowd says:

What most of Americans do get is that the right is about hatred, cruelty, mockery and ridicule, all growing out of their insecurities.

To the right hatred, cruelty, mockery and ridicule IS fun.

      • Kye says:

When your party offers no intelligent proposals or policies all that is left is mockery and ridicule. And as far as hate and cruelty goes it’s a fact of history your team murdered tens of millions and put tens of millions more in ACTUAL concentration camps and still are wherever they have power. Even today in America your party still practices slavery by keeping your blacks in ghettos and on food stamps and living on the streets in Democrat controlled virtual concentration camps full of squalor, disease and human waste. I consider that ACTUAL hate and cruelty. So shove it. The right in America stands for Freedom of the individual, his speech and his right to self defense. We also don’t support murdering babies or telling people with sexual mental illness they are all okay. We want to save the babies and treat the sexual perverse.

People like you who side with the anti-Americans of the world need to leave the country. We really don’t need America haters here in America.

Trump 2020 get the America haters out of America.

      • formwiz says:

        They do, huh?

I guess that explains why the Rs are growing at the Demos’ expense.

      • Doom and Gloom says:

No most Americans don’t get that at all. You live in an echo chamber. You spend too much time watching Will and Grace and the rest of the batshit crazy Hollywood types. You probably have CNN and MSNBC playing 24×7 in your house.

I live in the Midwest, not in a major city. Everyone I talk to laughs at the Left. We will vote for Trump again. We get one thing very clearly. YOU want to dictate to us what we do and do not believe, think and see as appropriate. (YOU is a collective pronoun for the LEFT)

You are a nazi. A thought Nazi. A policy Nazi. A Fascist who wants to tell us all how much to consume, when to consume and why we should like it. YOU want to tell us what to believe and why we should believe it. YOU want to force us to live according to your rules.

YOU are not willing to accept anything the right believes therefore YOU will find a way, mostly by forcing us to believe YOUR way through packing the courts, the DA’s across the nation and then suing the rest of Americans into believing what you believe.

WHAT I FIND INSANE IS HOW YOU ACTUALLY BELIEVE THIS IS ACCEPTABLE BEHAVIOUR. In a constitutional Republic.

You live in big cities and think the other 99 percent of the landmass of this country believes what you believe. YOU are wrong.

Take a vacation from your echo chamber and perhaps you will see why the democrats are in fact having fundraisers in Mexico instead of the USA, because YOU have no clue what the people of this country really think. YOU only have false polls, fake news and your fellow buddies nodding their heads whenever you make such a ridiculous claim.

As for me. I know their are a lot of people who hate Trump. but MOST? I don’t agree with that at all.

  2. John says:

Al Gore was wrong about hurricanes getting more powerful because of global warming

  3. John says:

Teach why do you think is causing global warming ?

    • formwiz says:

Hot air from all the Lefties.

    • Kye says:

Global warming is a misnomer because the globe warms and cools. It’s natural. Actual climate change is caused by many things as it has occurred and will continue to occur all through the existence of earth. The natural changing and development of the ecosystem, the sun, the birth and death of species, natural events like volcano’s or hurricanes or floods or fires all add to the dynamic changes in the earth ecology. And yes, even man plays a very small part as do every plant and animal.

      • Elwood P. Dowd says:

The Earth does warm and cool! But the changes are caused by physical processes not magic. And there ARE many physical inputs, some that contribute to warming and some to cooling, just as you say. Greenhouse gases contribute to warming.

What’s clear is the current period of rapid warming results largely from greenhouse gases added to the atmosphere by us.

        • david7134 says:

          Jeff,
It is over. Your desire for world communism ushered in on the back of concern for climate change has ended, it is not going to happen. The climate hoax has been put to rest, sure there are climate alterations, but relation to a trace gas is amusing. We do not have to prove a thing, you need to give a reliable study that puts the matter to rest. You can’t and have tried for years. Your 98 scientist are backing out of their previous positions. Society will not accept the taxes and destruction of their wealth based on a hoax.

        • formwiz says:

The Earth does warm and cool! But the changes are caused by physical processes not magic

They’re called summer and winter and are caused by the rotation of the earth.

And the only greenhouse gases are the ones coming out of Lefties trying to defend a scam even their founder didn’t want to.

  4. formwiz says:

    First Gropin’ Joe, now Bernie.

Fake News is bound to have a diversity nominee no matter how badly Trump will beat him/her/it.

  5. formwiz says:

Step away from the keyboard and put down the joint, the bong, the needle, the bottle…

You believed all the polls, but they lied as they’ve been doing for 50 years.

Trump wins, the Red Chinese are broken, the illegals all go home, the country is at peace, everybody who wants a job has one, and we go back to being the richest, greatest, finest country in the history of the human race.

    And you can’t stand it.

    Eat your heart out.

  6. Doom and Gloom says:

The risk for tRump is that if he loses, he’s open to prosecution the moment his protector Barr is gone. That’s why he’ll cut a deal sooner rather than later.

You best hope that never happens. He has done nothing wrong except win an election. But because your side hates him with an unbridled passion you want to take him to court and put him in prison the moment he leaves office?

Well of course what goes around comes around. The moment you do that will be the moment that every president goes to jail the minute he turns over the keys to the white house.

Are you NUTS!!!! or are you just trolling for a response?

    • gitarcarver says:

Are you NUTS!!!! or are you just trolling for a response?

      Yes.

    • Elwood P. Dowd says:

“The moment you do that will be the moment that every president goes to jail the minute he turns over the keys to the White House.”

Only those that are proven to have committed felonies.

      • formwiz says:

Since we’re all familiar with how the Left rewrites the law to suit its purpose, proof (which the bunny suit believes is impossible) would only be to suit a kangaroo court. But proof can be manufactured by anyone.

If that’s the way you want to play the game.

In any case, misdemeanors, I take it, would no longer be grounds for impeachment. Which would put the practice at odds with the concept of impeachment for, and conviction of, treason, bribery, or other high crimes and misdemeanors.

Bunny suit will need to come up with another dodge.

        • Elwood P. Dowd says:

We weren’t talking about impeachment, but charges to be brought against a private citizen.

          • formwiz says:

Just because your cartoon characters fight amongst themselves over stuff that will never happen, doesn’t mean real people don’t think more concretely.

And you first have to have a charge that will stick. Right now, the Demos are batting zip.

And gitar is right. Pull that on an R and there will be political war in this country, because we all know the Demos are the real crooks.

Be careful of that for which you wish.

            You may get it.

          • Elwood P. Dowd says:

Actually Mr. Mueller is a conservative Republican and he presented at least ten events of obstruction of justice, and made it clear the only reason trump was not indicted was that he was a sitting president. In addition, trump is still Individual One in the Cohen case. If trump is still down 8-14 points in the upper Midwestern states he won in 2016, he’ll be looking for a deal.

He may try a “resign/Pence pardon” deal too, admitting trump’s guilt but killing Pence’s career other than as a money-grubbing televangelist.

trump didn’t deliver on his promises to built a wall (paid by Mexico), help the working classes, repeal and replace Obamacare with better and cheaper healthcare, increase taxes on the wealthy, deliver 3,4,5, even 6% growth, cut the debt… he HAS reduced US prestige and standing, he HAS made the world a more dangerous place, he HAS ignored global warming, he HAS coarsened America with his lies and ridicule, he HAS further divided America. He daily violates the norms and mores of America – the glue that holds America together. He is hatred, cruelty and childishness personified.

          • Liljeffyatemypuppy says:

            trump didn’t deliver…

Obtuse little whiny sissybitch have you always been this stupid?

            https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2019/09/02/record-number-americans-working-157-million-job-u-s/

            Lolgfy loser https://www.thepiratescove.us/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_cool.gif

        • Doom and Gloom says:

Only those that are proven to have committed felonies.

It is, of course, a very telling response by a progressive.

George Soros is openly sponsoring DA and AG races all over the country in attempts to win the courts. Local and state-level DA’s are very powerful positions.

In addition, the left wants to PACK the supreme court with more liberal judges.

So your point about proven to have committed felonies is telling in so many ways.

No one has proven anything. Mueller simply put forth what he considered possible evidence to the matter. It has not been proven nor has it been established in a court of law.

You know when the DA brings charges against you that you committed x or y crime it is not proven. It is only evidence that can be used to PROVE your guilt or possible innocence. You seem to be so obsessed with your Trump hatred that the you become tongue tied in reference to his guilt or innocence from anything. The left still wants to try Bush for war crimes, all the while ignorning that Obama did the same things while he was in office.

          And the beat goes on.

  7. formwiz says:

Just for the record, if CA weren’t included in the last Presidential election, Trump won the popular vote.

Now imagine how many fraudulent votes were cast in CA.

    • Elwood P. Dowd says:

California is a US state with 12% of our population, therefore their votes count.

      • formwiz says:

        Not the fraudulent ones.

        All 7 million of them.

        • Elwood P. Dowd says:

LOL. No one in the trump regime has been able to find those fraudulent votes, not for lack of trying.

trump lost the popular vote. Why do you keep making this stupid argument? He’s president.

          • formwiz says:

How do you know they haven’t?

True The Vote did. Judicial Watch did. Democrats bragged about the different ways they manufactured votes to Project Veritas.

Trump hasn’t prosecuted Comey, Mule Ears, Clapper, Brennan, the Beast, or Zippy, either.

            Yet.

Doesn’t mean it won’t happen when he “has more flexibility”.

And winning the popular vote isn’t what counts, anyway. It’s just a dodge for losers to cry Shut Up And Deal.

Watch where you LOL. They could end up shoved down your throat.

          • Elwood P. Dowd says:

More empty threats from the empty suit. LOL.

Can a US president order the prosecution of private citizens, or is that a banana republic thing?

  8. Doom and Gloom says:

Can a US president order the prosecution of private citizens, or is that a banana republic thing?

Good question. You might not like the answer.

Anwar al-Awlaki, a US citizen alleged to be a senior al-Qaeda figure, was reportedly killed this morning in Yemen by an American drone strike. President Obama reportedly authorized his assassination more than two years ago and several unsuccessful attempts had previously been made.

Obama could have been taken to court and Imprisioned for murder of an American Citizen without due process. Is that what you want?

Last May, Obama gave a speech on the subject. It was, in part, a response to growing anger in Pakistan, Yemen and elsewhere over the CIA’s ongoing drone assassination campaigns with all their “collateral damage,” and to the White House’s reported “kill list.” In it, he insisted that any target of the drones must pose “a continuing and imminent threat to the American people.”

Hows that banana republic looking so far?

Two weeks after the killing of Awlaki, a separate CIA drone strike in Yemen killed his 16-year-old American-born son, Abdulrahman, along with the boy’s 17-year-old cousin and several other innocent Yemenis. The U.S. eventually claimed that the boy was not their target but merely “collateral damage.”

It seems Obama was racking up the US BORN kills under the guise of whatever HIS DOJ and STATE DEPARTMENT DEEMED WAS LEGAL.

Hows that banana state looking so far?

    HOW ABOUT THIS ONE:

The U.S. assault on Yemeni civilians not only continued but radically escalated over the next five years through the end of the Obama presidency.

NOW the Democrats are ragging on TRUMP for helping the SAUDIS when Obama was in bed with them and kissing their rings in person.

    • formwiz says:

      Zippy sure did.

Technically, the President as Chief Executive can direct the DOJ’s policy as much as he can the DOD.

  9. Doom and Gloom says:

    Und Lastly:

In Nixon v. Fitzgerald, the Supreme Court held that a President cannot be sued for civil damages involving actions taken within his official duties. The case required the Justices to explore the scope of presidential immunity from judicial procedures. The key question is what the Justices said about whether a President is immune from criminal prosecution. Of course for Trump, any actions preceding the presidential election would not be official acts within the scope of his duties, and he’d have a difficult time claiming that a President committing a crime while in office (e.g., perjury) is within the scope of official duties.

    • Doom and Gloom says:

Obama murdered two US American Citizens. Why was this not a crime? I suppose it would be because his DOJ said it wasn’t a crime. You know. Protected him like the left is moaning about Barr Protecting TRUMP…..LOLOLOLOLOL. The left is so pathetic and such whiny little cry babies. Take our guns, take our land, take our national parks and wetlands. Take our cars and trucks. Take our airplanes and Trailers and combustion engines. Take our healthcare and give it to illegals flooding the border.

This is the new communist party formerly known as the Democratic party. A party which at one time believed in individual liberty instead of collective assimilation by the state.

    • formwiz says:

Perjury is only under oath. And you’d have to prove he told a lie.

And they nailed Willie on it, so immunity is not an issue.

Bunny suit, Bftsplk, bathroom, bear suit. They’re looking for something that isn’t there.

      Much like the popular vote.
