New Warmist Idea: Let Jailed Felons Vote To Fight Hotcoldwetdry

This has absolutely nothing to do with politics, right? Just because it dove-tails perfectly with the Leftist push to allow felons to vote has no bearing, right? Just a coincidence, right?

ENVIRONMENTALISTS SAY IMPRISONED FELONS SHOULD BE ABLE TO VOTE BECAUSE OF GLOBAL WARMING

Environmentalists joined the far-left campaign to give voting rights to incarcerated felons, arguing felon voting is crucial to fighting global warming.

“Until each and every one of them have their voting rights restored, the movement for climate justice — and every progressive cause — will be severely disadvantaged,” Sabelo Narasimhan, digital campaign manager for 350.org, wrote in an email to supporters sent Monday.

The group is now part of the effort, championed by Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, to allow millions of incarcerated felons to vote. Currently, only Maine and Vermont allow imprisoned felons to vote.

350.org is a far-left environmental group founded by activist Bill McKibben, a staunch Sanders supporter who once called former President Barack Obama a “climate denier” for allowing an oil company to explore for Arctic oil.

“An assault on our democracy and the right to vote directly affects how we address the current climate crisis. When people can’t vote, fossil fuel billionaires win,” Narasimhan wrote in the email. (snip)

Activists argue felon voting will somehow help “compel our elected officials to take real action on the climate crisis.”

350.org isn’t some tiny group: it is, of course, pretty much the biggest Cult of Climastrology sect out there. The entire point is mean to increase the voting totals for Democrats.

Which is an interesting thing to consider: are Democrats really saying that convicted and incarcerated murderers, rapists, and child abusers, among others, hold the same political leanings as the Democratic Party?

As I mentioned before I have a friend who was the warden of a federal prison and he said almost all of the prisoners were Democrats. He also mentioned the Mohammadans were recruiting about 90% of the black prisoners. I asked him why that happens and he said they enter the system full of hate for America and white people and the Mohammadans convert that hate into religion. The second best recruiting tool the Mohammadans have next to the Democrat Communist Party is the prison system. Just an observation.

The statistics I have seen indicate that most felons couldn’t care less about voting. The point behind restoring their voting rights is to get them to register. Registration rolls are the raw materials of voter fraud. Registered voters who don’t vote leave blank ballots in the hands of voting officials at the end of election day. Those blank ballots can be used to manufacture however many votes are needed to put a candidate over the top in endless recount scenarios.

But the Federal Bureau of Prisons Inmate Citizenship Statistics based on prior month’s data — — Last Updated: Saturday, 18 May 2019, reports about 20% cannot vote as they are Not Citizens.

    Country………..# of Inmates…% of Inmates
    Colombia……….1,648 ………0.9%
    Cuba…………..1,163 ………0.6%
    Dominican Republic.1,447………0.8%
    Mexico…………21,852……..12.1%
    Other/Unknown…..9,005 ………5.0%
    United States…145,278 ……..80.5%

    Guess that’s unfair too.

It’s a little off topic but appropriate to mention that prisons simply don’t work. They are not a deterrent, a punishment, or a rehabilitative tool. What goes on inside of prisons should never be allowed in a civilized country. And despite sentencing guides, the time served for various offenses is absurdly arbitrary and random.

The only useful thing prison does, and what it is designed to do, is separate criminals from the rest of the non-criminal population. But it does that in the least humane, costliest, and most counter-productive way possible.

First offenders should be punished and rehabilitated.
Property offenders should focus on restitution.
Violent criminals should be put to death.
Career criminals should be put to death.

The only people who should be in jail are those who are awaiting trials, sentencing or execution. And the conditions they are held in should be safe, humane, and civil. That includes being safe from other violent inmates.

If we run criminal justice system right, then the issue of voting in jails becomes moot.
