Surprise, No, Real Surprise: Trump And Dems Agree On Infrastructure Package

I don’t know about you, but, I really, really did not expect this

Trump agrees to spend $2 trillion on US infrastructure: Democrats

Democratic leaders emerged from White House talks with Donald Trump Tuesday saying they had reached agreement with the president to spend $2 trillion to improve America’s creaking infrastructure.

“We agreed on a number which was very, very good: $2 trillion for infrastructure,” Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer said, in a sign the feuding sides are willing to work together on accomplishing a major bipartisan goal to upgrade the nation’s roads, bridges, airports, rail lines, waterways and broadband internet access.

“Even the president was eager to push it up to $2 trillion,” the Democrat added.

“There was goodwill in this meeting, and that was different than some of the other meetings that we’ve had, which is a very good thing.”

Of course, this is the Dems point of view, we haven’t heard from Trump yet. And, we’ve certainly seen where Democrats scuttle things that have been agree on. I guess we’ll see.

Dems didn’t have much of a choice since all they’ve done for the last two years is whine about Russian collusion. https://www.thepiratescove.us/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_cool.gif

tRump may yet reverse his decision if President Hannity or VP Limbaugh complain.

Maybe they can squeeze the money out of SS or Medicare. The party of Spend and Don’t Tax is at it again. “Reagan proved that deficits don’t matter”, according to Cheney.

Considering his Mocha Messiah is responsible for most of that debt, Jeffery is hardly one top complain, but this will all fall apart the second Chuckie and Pelosi Galore try to pull the usual scam of not honoring the parts of the agreement they don’t like, but Jeffery does have one point (mostly on his head) that we haven’t heard from The Donald.

He proposed a 1.5T package with states and private investors putting up as much as $1.3 trillion of the investment, so we’ll see how The Demos go.

And liljeffy is correct; Chuckie and Pelosi are desperate for their party yo look like it can actually accomplish something worthwhile since it took the House. I’m guessing the numbers (the real ones) don’t look so hot on keeping it.

Dutcher ignores that his Orange Shitgibbon has $trillion yearly deficits planned as far as the eye can see. We thought that the Orange Shitgibbon’s tax cuts for the rich was going to fix the deficit. Guess not.

But Dutcher does have one point (mostly up his arse), that the Orange Shitgibbon hasn’t told his lies about the meeting yet.

The Orange Shitgibbon’s previous infrastructure “proposal” was a joke. Massive tax breaks and dunning the states (which have no money).

Mitch the Bitch and his do-nothing Senate will scuttle whatever he can.

Secretary of State Anne Coulter has abandoned Trump and wants to join Bernie Sanders and work for him because Trump caved on the border and government shutdown. I’m not sure what she thinks he could have done but oh well.

So here we have Trump offering up 2 trillion and of course the GOP will vote against any bill coming out of the House because they will include funding all kinds of weird things including global warming etc.

This in the end will then go to the senate which will vote it down and nothing will get done and both the dems and Trump can claim they tried for the 2020 elections.

This is about as obvious as an ear of corn in a corn field.

      • formwiz says:

Don’t be so sure about the Senate. If it’s a reasonable proposal, McConnell, up for election next year, may go for it.

It would show the Rs as the Party of Grown Ups, and do a lot to exacerbate the division of the Demos.

        Win-Win.

If it was pure infrastructure they might agree to it. However remember this is coming from the whacko leftist house and you can be sure it will be filled with AGW infrastructure rather than fixing bridges, sewers, roads and FLINT MICHIGAN water.

As a result the GOP will vote it down unless of course the never trumpers like Romney decide to join the 47 DEMS in the house to pass it to embarrass trump and force him to veto it and take a hit during the 2020’s. The Never Trumpers, Wall streets and corporations want trump gone so bad they will do almost anything to get rid of the man.

Of course they all agree to spend other people’s money while increasing their power and influence. The easiest decision in politics for people who have no principles.
Now they can all sit back as politicians and corporations flock to them bearing favors in return for a piece of the $2T.
