NY Times Wants To Know Where Mitch McConnell’s Climate Plan Is Or Something

Democrats are pretty upset about being forced to vote on the Green New Deal resolution, because how dare lawmakers vote on proposals submitted?

AOC is still whining about the vote

They “choose to lead”, but, don’t want to vote on it? Anyhow, here’s Excitable Michelle Cottle, a member of the NY Times editorial board going off on her own

Where’s Your Climate Plan, Mr. McConnell?

For those wondering if it was still possible for the Senate Republican leader, Mitch McConnell, to raise his cynicism game, Tuesday’s show vote on the Green New Deal supplied a resounding “yes.”

Of all the pressing business Mr. McConnell could be tackling, he devoted precious floor time to the resolution introduced last month by the Democrats Ed Markey, the junior senator from Massachusetts, and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, a House freshman from New York. A grand reimagining of America’s environmental and economic landscape, the Green New Deal is not a policy proposal. It is a statement of values — a nonbinding resolution that even its champions do not expect to become law. Ms. Ocasio-Cortez has called it “a vision document.”

So, this resolution about our planetary emergency, as in, if we don’t do something now we’re doomed in 12 years, wasn’t worth the time to vote? Strange.

The Senate majority leader, like so much of his party, has zero interest in climate change — or rather, he has no interest in pursuing policies to address what many regard as the defining crisis of our time. Mr. McConnell is, however, passionate about making life politically awkward for the opposition. With their base voters fired up about climate change, dozens of Democratic lawmakers have embraced the Green New Deal, including at least half a dozen 2020 presidential contenders. Even so, the resolution’s sweeping ambitions — built around a huge infrastructure investment and a shift to carbon-free energy — strike more than a few Democrats, especially moderates, as unrealistic and politically perilous.

So, wait, ‘climate change’ is the defining crisis of our time, the resolution was offered, and it was a Bad Thing that McConnell held a vote on it?

The Green New Deal is by no means a fully baked proposal for combating climate change. But for all its flaws, it is a more promising first step than the Republican leaders’ chosen strategy of inaction and sneering denial.

So, a first step that shouldn’t be voted on?

  1. Bill Bear says:

3,000 Americans died in Hurricane María. The Midwest is drowning as we speak. 100s of Flint families were pumped w/ poisoned water & our water infrastructure is imperiled across the country.

GOP thinks this is a joke.

    They choose to laugh+delay.

This is also true of Porter Good. Americans are in fact dying and being poisoned — and all Porter Good can do is laugh and urge further delays.

What has to go wrong in a man’s psyche to make him this kind of proud, raging sociopath?

    • Bill589 says:

Global Warming deniers vs Reality deniers.
The climate has always been changing, and giving governments more money and power is not going to stop it from changing.

“What has to go wrong in a man’s psyche to make him this kind of proud, raging sociopath?”
      You should know.

  2. Kye says:

Hurricane Maria and the Midwest flooding are weather events, not climate change or don’t you understand the difference? Hurricanes happen. They always have. Level 5 hurricanes happen. They always have. The Midwest is being hit with whats called a “bomb cyclone” weather event which occur naturally in nature. What would you like to do to end hurricanes and other weather events you don’t approve of?

Just because you disagree Teach is now a “raging sociopath”? Have you no control over your childlike emotions and responses? The only thing raging around here is your inability to control yourself.

BTW, the GOP doesn’t think this shit is a joke. We think it’s a lie!

Now, just for you Traitor Bill, today’s murder report from your Mohammedan friends. You’ll be happy to know that two Mohammedan suicide bombers coordinated with gunmen in Nigeria to successfully massacre ten villagers.

Also, on this date March 27 in 2016 in Lahore Pakistan a Mohammedan suicide bomber targeted Christian celebrating Easter Sunday in a park murdering a cool 100 men, women and children.

Let’s bring some more Mohammedans to Milwaukee! It’ll make Traitor Bill smile;)

Murdering Muhammadans slaughtering people since the seventh century. Over One Billion Killed!

      Nope.

Porter Good is a sociopath because he expends a huge amount of time and effort to ridicule the efforts to find solutions to serious problems that have hurt and killed people around the world.

  3. Jl says:

“What’s McConnell’s climate plan?” That implies that one is needed. “3000 American died in hurricane Maria”. Shall we look at past hurricanes during lower CO2 when the death toll was much higher? In any event the death toll is not an indicator necessarily of hurricane strength.

  4. JGlanton says:

Wait, what? Hurricane Maria deaths (65 or 3000, whatever the number is) are from “climate change”? What about the 14 other Atlantic hurricanes over the last few hundred years that had higher death tolls? How is this hurricane “climate change”, while much worse hurricanes a hundred years ago were not?

The answer must be that this is a religion.

  5. Elwood P. Dowd says:

The GOP has a single plan to Make America Great Again — tax cuts for the wealthy!

This magic elixir will make the poor rich, the violent peaceful, the Kims to give up their nukes, the Mexicans go home, and the planet cool.

  6. bob says:

like all climate alarmists she is a mo-ron. but to humor her let’s make a deal. if she will support stopping the murder of unborn babies we will think about her idiot ideas.

And where is his plan to deal with the Reptilian invasion, chemtrails, or MK Ultra mind control?!? Leftists are dumb.

  9. Noc-Noc says:

So for a 10,000 +++ years with humans around we have had hurricanes hit low laying over populated areas and people living in along the coastal areas failing to seek higher ground have died. Now all of a sudden, after 10,000+++ years with humans dealing with it, some people started pimping climate back in the early 1900’s for money and political reasons.

Btw: Look it up….in 1970’s we were told it would be an Ice Age and kill all humans by 1990’s. In the late 1980’s we were told we’d die from from global warming, and the Sea Ice would flood 1/2 the cities in the world by 2002. In 2004 it became Climate change.

My point they always blame the USA that only produces about 5% of what they whine about and never India or China or the 2nd world countries that are responsible for the other 85%. So they will always pick a date 15-30 years in the future, then when it rolls around or gets close, then find a new cause and project another new killer date 15+ years out. Then move on, with certain elite climate pimps making 100’s of Millions in the process.

Don’t be a sucker look at the history of the Climate Whiners it alone is enough to debunk their claims.

But if they do come up with a new climate hoax invest in Hollywood. They have always made block buster Climate Fear movies for profit. MAD-MAX, Water World, The day after, etc…
