(UK Independent) An estimated 400 demonstrators from the groups Extinction Rebellion and Christian Climate Action staged the protest, simulating a “sea of bloodâ€.
They said pouring the liquid, which they dubbed “the Blood of our Childrenâ€, symbolised the “gravity†of the ecology and climate emergency.
The groups said they were prepared to risk arrest as part of a mass civil disobedience movement to force those in power to act. (snip)
Another activist, Jayne Forbes, said: “There are no words to describe the horrors we risk if we do not make governments act immediately. Every parent, every adult, everyone has a responsibility and duty to take action. That now means breaking the law.â€
It apparently means wearing lots of clothes with major fuel miles, as well as smartphones.
On the bright side, the nutters tweeted that “it’s (made of) water, cornflour, vegan food colouring & treacle. and they cleaned it all up afterwards.”
I’m mildly curious about what the carbon footprint of this spectacle was.
They cleaned up after themselves. So, what was the point? They are doing this in a country that is already compliant with all the AGW agenda. If anything, they should be protesting that their government is so “compliant” that it deprives them of their Dog-given right to earn a living by protesting something.
