Worldwide Student ‘Climate Change’ Protest Is Coming To The U.S. Or Something

No more riding in fossil fueled vehicles to school, practice, friends house, or vacations for the kiddies. No showers longer than 2 minutes. No more gaming systems nor tablets nor smartphones, because of the energy use, including what’s called vampire energy. No more energy drinks or sodas, due to CO2 content. No more streaming shows. I could continue with more, but, let’s move into the story

Worldwide student strike is coming to the U.S. on March 15, as global climate protests cross the rising oceans

Tens of thousands of students from around the world will join together this month by skipping school to demand action be taken by politicians on global warming.

The global strike, dubbed School Strike 4 Climate, will take place on March 15.

“We are striking because our world leaders have yet to acknowledge, prioritize, or properly address our climate crisis,” a description of the movement read on its web site. “We are striking because if the social order is disrupted by our refusal to attend school, then the system is forced to face the climate crisis and enact change.”

The movement is inspired by Swedish teen activist Greta Thunberg who has been on strike outside of the Swedish parliament building every Friday since September, and supports The Green New Deal, according to a report by Sierra.

“We are striking for the Green New Deal, for a fair and just transition to a 100% renewable economy, and for ending the creation of additional fossil fuel infrastructure,” the School Strike 4 Climate web site states. (snip)

Now, children in at least two dozen countries and 30 U.S. states have planned to skip school to demand that nations commit to cutting fossil-fuel emissions in half in the next 10 years to avoid global warming, the Washington Post reported.

How are the tykes expecting to get to the protests? Think they’ll walk or bike? Or, want mom/dad/the school to drive them there? I’d have a good laugh checking the one in Raleigh out on Friday the 15th, but, you know, work. List of all here.

Further, did anyone notice that, despite the headline, the “article” fails to mention how much the seas are rising? If they did, it would be rather inconvenient. The average sea rise over the last 8,000 years (a time frame used after the Great Meltwater Pulse ended post-ice age) is 6-8 inches per century. During Holocene cool periods the rise is much lower, which means during warm periods it has to be much higher. That’s how we get averages. Some think a warm period should see 16-22 inches per century.

Do you know how much there was in the 20th Century? I’ve mentioned it many times. 8 inches. Average. Nor is it accelerating.

According to Tides and Currents, run by NOAA, Atlantic City, NJ (the above article is from NJ.com) is seeing 4.09 millimeters/year with a 95% confidence interval of +/- 0.15 mm/yr based on monthly mean sea level data from 1911 to 2018 which is equivalent to a change of 1.34 feet in 100 years. That’s also includes land changes, and is normal. The gauges at Sandy Hook and Cape May are similar.

Across the waters at The Battery (NYC) we see 2.85 millimeters/year with a 95% confidence interval of +/- 0.09 mm/yr based on monthly mean sea level data from 1856 to 2018 which is equivalent to a change of 0.94 feet in 100 years. Land changes are stripped from the data due to the location.

This is inconvenient data for climahysterics. As is most. Notice that real world data is rarely ever included in scaremongering articles.

  1. Kye says:

The “international” leaders should hold a conference and tell “Duh Students” “We Hear You! Starting immediately no one under 25 will be permitted to drive personal vehicles in order to cut CO2 pollution and reduce congestion and smog. All school classes will be held in summer and all schools will have their air conditioning removed. Playstations and X-Boxes are now illegal as they are a waste of electricity as are hair dryers and a list of other appliances deemed “unnecessary” by the Commissar of Energy. Cell phones will be fitted with an automatic cut off after 10 minutes per day of use.

Thank you for bringing these climate destroyers to light. That is all.”

    • Elwood P. Dowd says:

      Kye,

Short a police state, how do you institute policies that selectively punishes those with whom you disagree? But of course you support right-wing authoritarian rule.

We should be grateful you aren’t suggesting hanging.

You and Trump will be graveyard dead, but the students will be having to adapt to the world our generation has left them. They have a right to join the debate without being attacked out of ignorance. Can you make an actual argument about global warming?

      All you have is hate.

      • formwiz says:

Kye made an intelligent comment and Harvey comes back with a non sequitur.

The only ones threatening police state tactics are the Demos – Fatty Nadless, Pelosi Galore, Occasional Cortex, Hell’s Harem.

And hanging seems just around the corner if the environuts get their way.

You and Trump will be graveyard dead, but the students will be having to adapt to the world our generation has left them. They have a right to join the debate without being attacked out of ignorance. Can you make an actual argument about global warming?

        Sure, it’s a lie.

And hate is your thing. It’s the Lefties clocking people, it’s the Demos shooting Rs.

        • Elwood P. Dowd says:

I was replying to Kye’s comment #1 above, not to some intelligent comment you claim he made.

          • liljeffyatemypuppy says:

Non sequitur. Look it up again, nignorant. You use that logical fallacy enough you should know the meaning and examples by now. https://www.thepiratescove.us/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_cool.gif

          • formwiz says:

Well, screw you, although I doubt anyone ever has.

Kye made the amusing, and perspicacious, point that nothing will end the yoots’ infatuation with global nonsense like removal of all their toys.

I was noting that you created several straw men rather than answer him and, in so doing, you raised the specter of selective enforcement, something which right now is the Lefties’ practice and threat.

So don’t you ever tell me you have any right to keep me from supporting intelligent people’s comments I wouldn’t stand that from a white man, let alone a Negro Communist.

      • Kye says:

“Short a police state, how do you institute policies that selectively punishes those with whom you disagree? But of course you support right-wing authoritarian rule.”

With your bigoted and blind eyes having the “students” put their skin in the game by cutting the stuff they like rather than allowing a bunch of kids to dictate policy is surely “selectively” punishing them Thinking that way created little Nazi’s like them to begin with so you fit right in. “Kids” have no right to join any debate. They’re f*****g kids. And what they are suggesting is EXACTLY a police state.

I can make many arguments about global warming but you’ve heard them all and since they don’t comport to your anti capitalist, anti American agenda you have discounted them all. That makes you ignorant, not scientific BTW.

        • Elwood P. Dowd says:

Exactly how will these kids (whom you call Nazis) take control and enact “exactly a police state”? Your fears lead to your hatred.

          Here are the “kids” solutions:

          Our Solutions
The extraction of Greenhouse Gases from the atmosphere
Reforestation– replenishing our forests by planting trees and allowing them to thrive, sustainable forestry
Reduced food waste– methane emissions from rotting food in landfills contributes immensely to overall Greenhouse Gases emissions
          Emission standards and benchmarks
We need to create standards and benchmarks for reducing Greenhouse Gases that align with those expressed by the science community to avoid 1.5° Celsius warming
          Changing the agriculture industry
          Less carbon-intensive farming
          More plant-based farming
Using renewable energy and building renewable energy infrastructure
Stopping the unsustainable and dangerous process of fracking
          Stop mountaintop removal/mining
It is very harmful to our environment and people working in these fields

Thank you for trying to make arguments, but you’ve devolved to where you’re almost as bad as “The Triplets of the Cesspool”.

          All

          • formwiz says:

That’s no solution it’s a nightmare, according to the founder of Greenpeace. They want to get rid of fossil fuels, like our own Village Idiot.

I suppose my main objection is the effective elimination of 80 percent of the world’s energy would likely eliminate 80 percent of the world’s people in the end. I mean, just growing food, for example — how would we grow food for the world’s people without tractors and trucks, and all of the other machinery that is required to deliver food, especially to the inner cities of large centres like Moscow, Shanghai and New York City? How would we get the food to the stores?

This was the guy who quit Greenpeace because (are you ready?) it was filling up with Communists!

  2. Kye says:

formwiz, what is it about devoutly leftist people that enables them to so hate and project that hate onto us? Have you ever stated or implied you hate blacks or Christians or Jews or Hispanics or for that matter anybody? I know I only hate communists and terrorists. Other than that it’s live and let live.

I know Elwood thinks I’m a racist because I recognize the biologic differences between races. He also thinks I’m an Islamophobe because the Mohammadans declared war on us and I accept that means they’re at war with us, Duh! I accept that. I wouldn’t have it any other way. I certainly don’t want to live in denial like some SJW sniffing unicorn farts.

Now this guy is projecting his own projection. Takes a certain kind of balls or blindness to be that daft.

    • formwiz says:

You have to remember the Left is all about hate and envy. It wouldn’t exist if it couldn’t prey on the resentment of people who are failures in life.

When Crusader Rabbit says, “All you have is hate”, yeah, it’s just a trope her handlers tell him to use, but it’s what’s driving her and all the other thralls.

The projection is a defense mechanism. It involves Lefties attributing their own thoughts, feeling, and motives to another person. We all do it, but it’s a real disease with the Lefties.

Thoughts most commonly projected onto another are the ones that would cause guilt such as aggressive and sexual fantasies or thoughts.

Notice how often Harvey uses the straw man of true repression, the police state, lynching or hanging, mass murder, concentration camps – what the real Commies used so often.

PS Follow the link and see how many defense mechanisms identifiable with Harvey. Like most Lefties, she’s a classic case.

  3. Elwood P. Dowd says:

And lest you forget… our Earth continues to warm with no physical reason to expect it to stop. The Arctic is warming even faster than the rest of the Earth.

Remember when the so-called skeptics claimed the Earth stopped warming in 1998? Still warming. Now so-called skeptics claim they always knew it was warming but only questioned the cause, i.e., GHGs vs natural variation. Some even accept the overwhelming evidence and are focused on fighting (honestly, for a change) the proposed solutions to cut CO2 emissions.

Do you believe gov’t spending is out of control and want to cut spending on others? If so, all budget hawks over 65 should give up their Social Security and Medicare payments.

    • Liljeffyatemypuppy says:

The Arctic is warming even faster than the rest of the Earth.</>

Maybe. Why would that be a crisis? https://www.thepiratescove.us/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_cool.gif

    • formwiz says:

Which skeptics? As always you pull this stuff out of your ass.

Frankly, nobody thinks the earth is warming but you and you’re and idiot and a liar

    • Elwood P. Dowd says:

We hear of the demise of the theory of man-made global warming from time to time. What do you think will be the stake through the heart of the theory?

Did you mean Ian Plimer, rather than Ian Palmer? He claims the El Nino results from undersea volcanoes and is currently listed as a director of at least 7 mining and coal/gas companies.

Your quote: “The jig is up. The whole thing is a fraud. Perhaps what has doomed the Climategate fraudsters the most was their brazenness in fudging the data.” – appears to be misattributed to Prof Laughlin, although the interwebs attributes it to a Dr. Kobus.

      • formwiz says:

Sorry, genius, but it’s already dead.

Nobody takes it seriously but some brain dead Lefties trying to scare people with it.

  4. Kye says:

And lest YOU forget our earth has warmed before And there’s always a physical reason it’s just not proven to be man. The Arctic is NOT warming faster than the rest of the earth. Just because you say it does not make it so.

Yes, I do believe spending is out of control and “all budget hawks” over 65 have actually paid for those benefits. They aren’t free even though a “capitalist” like you should know that.

First you communists make us pay for something we did not necessarily want then when we try to get the benefit you cry like children that we are hypocrites. You do realize we paid for these things frequently against our will. Now you begrudge us getting the benefits promised for payment received.

Not only are the left liars now they’re trying to be thieves too. Only a die hard communist would say we’re not entitled to benefits we paid for but should also pay for illegal aliens who earned nothing!

    • Elwood P. Dowd says:

“It’s my SS ’cause I paid for it!”, cry the hypocrites. Listen, if a balanced budget is important, you’ll have to make sacrifices, especially if you insist on cutting taxes on guys like me. No, you paid into an account that supported others who retired before you. You will likely receive more than you paid in, so in fact, some of what you’ll receive is… welfare. Others are paying for much of your Medicare. Bypass surgery, metastatic cancer or diabetes and you’ll be glad to have the gov’t insurance paid by the current workers. You subsidized others who retired before you.

So before you condemn others and prescribe draconian policies to teach kids a lesson, consider your own hypocrisy.

It wasn’t communists who provided Social Security and Medicare, it was the American people by way of their elected representatives. The right-wing had the White House, Congress and Supreme Court (and are confident they’ll retake all in 2020). How have the conservative suggestions to eliminate Social Security and Medicare been welcomed? You elected a federal gov’t that agrees with you! Why haven’t they acted?

Since you wish to slash federal spending, where would you like to start? We assume you wish to keep your Social Security/Medicare welfare payments and probably the defense budget. Interest on the debt is untouchable. Where would you make a big difference?

      All you have is hate.

      • Liljeffyatemypuppy says:

Enough with the faux outrage, little fella.
All you have are overused demonicrat talking points.
You are not very smart. https://www.thepiratescove.us/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_cool.gif

      • formwiz says:

Um, a lot of Democrat voters feel the same way. They know the debt is out of control and entitlements are the reason, but they saw their paychecks raped by FICA all their working lives and they want the money back.

you paid into an account that supported others who retired before you.

        Not true, even a little.

Ever since the 60s, FICA’s gone into the general fund. It’s become the second income tax Franklin Roosevelt wanted it to be. For all anybody knows, your FICA may have gone to let some rich guy afford to buy a second jet for his trips to Sex Slave Island.

And BTW, all the “Bypass surgery, metastatic cancer or diabetes” being treated you talk about goes bye-bye if we go to the socialized medicine you say is so wonderful. That stuff means a wait of years, sometimes decades, in the NHS, CommieCare world.

Then there are the Death Panels, as Sarah Palin so eloquently called them. The Lefty politicians who decide who isn’t worth saving.

So before you condemn others and prescribe draconian policies to teach kids a lesson, consider your own hypocrisy.

consider yours. If anybody cut your welfare, we’d never hear the end of the screaming

It wasn’t communists who provided Social Security and Medicare, it was the American people by way of their elected representatives. The right-wing had the White House, Congress and Supreme Court (and are confident they’ll retake all in 2020).

Actually it was. The Roosevelt Administration was loaded with salon Socialists and closet Communists. The Demos owned Congress at the time (1935) and rammed it through.

And the right-wing had the White House, Congress and Supreme Court

In 1935? That’s as good as Gropin’ Joe’s line that, when Wall Street crashed, President Roosevelt went on TV to reassure people.

Since you wish to slash federal spending, where would you like to start? We assume you wish to keep your Social Security/Medicare welfare payments and probably the defense budget.

Maybe if the Feds get out of the medical business, medical care might be affordable. And I have a retirement fund, so cut away. Take the load off the economy (and get the Lefties out of DC) and everything would be more affordable.

All you have is projection. Scroll up to comment 2 and you’ll see I answer Kye’s question.

Maybe it will convince you to seek help.

      • Kye says:

” No, you paid into an account that supported others who retired before you. You will likely receive more than you paid in, so in fact, some of what you’ll receive is… welfare. ”

That is nonsense. Where the leftists in the Deep State spent the money I paid for my SS and Medicare is irrelevant, I was paying for myself they just stole it (as communists like yourself are apt to do).

“You will likely receive more than you paid in, so in fact, some of what you’ll receive is… welfare.”

No, what I’ll receive is in fact…..not keeping up with the inflated value of the money they stole from me.

“you subsidized others who retired before you.

So before you condemn others and prescribe draconian policies to teach kids a lesson, consider your own hypocrisy.”

Hypocrisy? How is it hypocrisy when since “I subsidized others who retired before me” to expect that now “others” will pay for me? That’s quid pro quo, not hypocrisy.

“Since you wish to slash federal spending, where would you like to start? We assume you wish to keep your Social Security/Medicare welfare payments and probably the defense budget. Interest on the debt is untouchable. Where would you make a big difference?”

What is “Social Security/Medicare welfare”? You know as well as we do they are programs paid into by the beneficiaries and not welfare. Now if you communists are willing to talk about ways to make SS/Med solvent in the future I’m in. But if all you’re gonna do is the usual lies about how Republicans want to end SS then it will never get fixed till you force it’s collapse. But now that you mention it I would slash welfare. I would require work and would begin exploring ways to reunite the black families the Democrats and their programs have destroyed since the The Great Society and War on Poverty. If you “assume” I wouldn’t cut Defense you are wrong as usual.

Then you end with your ridiculous “All you have is hate” meme. You can’t even talk economics or policy or saving SS without your “hate” stupidity. Grow the phuk up will ya.
