AOC Melts Down After Report Of Climahypocrisy

Most anthropogenic climate change believing hypocrites are smart enough to avoid getting into a discussion/debate/argument on their hypocrisy. Deflections, avoidance, simply ignoring the question, walking away, these are the things they do. Not AOC, who seems to have to respond to every slight in a way only a general Millennial stereotype could

Ocasio-Cortez responds after report accuses her of ‘Green New Deal’ hypocrisy: ‘I also fly & use A/C’

U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez responded Saturday night after a published report excoriated the freshman congresswoman for pushing her Green New Deal initiative while still traveling on airplanes and using ridesharing services — instead greener travel methods such as public transportation.

The piece mentioned the New York Democrat’s call in January for more sustainable energy solutions: “The world is going to end in 12 years if we don’t address climate change,” she said at the time.

“But the woman who boasts of a “razor-sharp BS detector” seems to have trouble sniffing out her own,” the New York Post reported. “Since declaring her candidacy in May 2017, Ocasio-Cortez’s campaign heavily relied on those combustible-engine cars — even though a subway station was just 138 feet from her Elmhurst [Queens] campaign office. She listed 1,049 transactions for Uber, Lyft, Juno and other car services, federal filings show. The campaign had 505 Uber expenses alone.”

Instead of embracing cheaper, less green travel methods, Ocasio-Cortez logged 66 airline transactions during her 2018 campaign while only using Amtrak 18 times, according to the Post.

Cortez responded on Twitter, arguing that “living in the world as it is isn’t an argument against working towards a better future.”

“I also fly & use A/C,” Ocasio-Cortez wrote. “The Green New Deal is about putting a LOT of people to work in developing new technologies, building new infrastructure, and getting us to 100% renewable energy.”

So, the GND isn’t actually about ‘climate change’, it’s simply a means towards full blown Modern Socialism and Government control of our lives? Huh. AOC is a perfect example of climahypocrisy, much like other elected Democrats, such as Sheldon Whitehouse and GND cosponsor Ed Markey: they’re all for forcing Other People to pay taxes and fees and give up their own trappings of a modern lifestyle, including fossil fuels, but, won’t give them up themselves. You have people like Bernie Sanders, who wants to “bring climate deniers to justice”, which seems an ominous call to capture or kill them, much like the language Bush 43 used regarding Islamic jihadis, who owns three big homes and travels all over. The list of climahypocrites leading the Do Something charge on ‘climate change’ is a long, long one, for which we can add AOC’s name. Some reporter should ask her how she gets around in D.C. Walk? Bike? Take a scooter? The subway? Or a big fossil fueled SUV?

for some reason liberals always want the government to decide what people should have. IF renewable energy is what people want and the free market decides that then it will happen. what liberals want is for everyone to obey them despite the consequences. in a free society with free people it is the people, through the free market, who decide the direction they want to go. this twit cannot allow that. just as all despots, do as I say not as I do.

Speaking of hypocrisy… Have Cons given up all use of public facilities, the upkeep of which adds to the burgeoning debt? Roads and highways? Police and fire protections? Courts? Social Security? Medicare? Medicaid? Unemployment? Safe drugs?

We’ll believe that debt is a crisis when those who say it’s a crisis start acting like it’s a crisis!

      talk about delusions of adequacy!

Conservatives are not opposed to sensible public services, such as roads, police and fire protection; we are opposed to the stupidity of paying people not to work and taking money from people who earn it to give to those who do not.

Social Security and Medicare? We paid for those, our entire working lives. Some may not have agreed with the programs, but we were not given any choice; it was stolen from us in the form of taxes. And I’ve already told you: since I was forced to pay into Social Security, I intend to take out every last shilling I can from it.

Obviously, I’d rather not get my money’s worth out of Medicare, because that would mean I was sick. But I can tell you one thing: anyone who supports Medicare for All has never been on Medicare! I pay — and I have no choice in this — $134 a month in Medicare Parts A & B premiums, which still pays for only 80% of hospitalization and doctor visits. Then I pay $145 a month to Aetna for Part G, which pays for the other 20% of hospitalization, and the other 20% of doctor visits, minus a $185 yearly deductible, and that still doesn’t include part D, prescription drugs, which I don’t buy because I’m not on any prescription drugs. So, what the f(ornicate) did the Medicare taxes I’ve been paying since I was sixteen years old do for me?

      • Elwood P. Dowd says:

So as a 65+ American you pay some $3500/ year for health insurance, whereas the average healthcare cost per American is now $10,000/ year. Seems like a pretty good deal for older Americans for whom private insurance would be unaffordable.

Our Medicare taxes paid through the years allowed similar subsidies for earlier Medicare recipients, the same way taxes today pay for your subsidy.

You’re very fortunate. Higher income individuals over 65 yrs pay much higher premiums (over $400/mo). This surcharge is to help you pay less.

Medicare is also used to pay for some 9 million younger patients with renal disease, ALS and disabilities.

Medicare is financed by payroll taxes, general revenue and premiums.

        • Kye says:

You state THE AVERAGE healthcare cost (do you mean health insurance or health care, be specific words have meaning) per American is now $10,000 per year. You’re saying the average guy, who makes $36.000 per year pays 30% of his income on health insurance? You lie! I don’t know anybody who pays $10,000 per year on personal health insurance. Nobody. And I know rich and poor people. None pay anywhere near that amount.

          • liljeffyatemypuppy says:

          • Elwood P. Dowd says:

            You suck!!

All in, each American averages a total of $10,000 healthcare costs per year. This means all expenditures including healthcare taxes, premiums paid by employers… all in. Most people don’t see what is paid on their behalf.

So when dana’s total out of pocket premiums/deductible comes to $3500 a year, it means the other $6500 comes from somewhere else, e.g., his taxes, others’ taxes, others’ premiums.

          • Liljeffyatemypuppy says:

Let’s make up shit as we go along, shall we, little fella? https://www.thepiratescove.us/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_cool.gif

          • Elwood P. Dowd says:

Let’s try it another way. Americans average paying about $3000 a year on defense. That’s for every man, woman and child. Of course, a family of four making $24,000 a year is not paying $12,000 a year on the military, just as they are not paying $40,000 on health care, so others are paying. That’s why we have a progressive tax system. Bill Gates pays for more than just his family.

Total health care costs in the US come to about $3.5 trillion per year. There are about 330 million people here.

            Do you understand now?

          • david7134 says:

            Jeff,
You know next to nothing about all aspects of health care. You want the government to do something but you don’t look at the fact that governments are horrible at taking on large social projects. Look at what Obama care did to us. It took away the good insurance that many of us had. Then premiums went out the roof. Drug cost greatly increased as well as hospital cost, all secondary to government mandates.

If you are really concerned about other people, which I seriously doubt. Then get the government out. By changing fraud concerns back to normal would reduce the average doctors expense by 30%. Same goes for computer security. Then, allow people to buy any drug without seeing a doctor. Many countries do this but the liberals started restricting access to drugs and it has not worked. That would greatly reduce medical cost. It would also put the responsibility for ones care on the patient and ease the malpractice burden on doctors. Change malpractice to reduce the need for defensive medicine. In short, greatly change what we are doing and get the government out.

        • formwiz says:

Seems like a pretty good deal for older Americans for whom private insurance would be unaffordable.

Again Crusader Rabbit talks out of his rabbit hole. Most Americans use Medicare backed up by a medigap plan. Part B usually nicks you about $100 out of your Social Security. Medigasp covers the other 20%.

Our Medicare taxes paid through the years allowed similar subsidies for earlier Medicare recipients, the same way taxes today pay for your subsidy.

Your first 2 years on full benefits eats up every penny you ever paid in FICA.

(if she’s going to lie, you’d think she find a lie whose truth isn’t common knowledge)

Medicare is financed by payroll taxes, general revenue and premiums.

Medicare, like Social Security, comes out of FICA which goes into the general fund. I don’t know what premiums she’s talking about, she probably doesn’t, either.

  3. Dana says:

It’s just that GND is about forcing other people to do as the lovely Miss Ocasio-Cortez says, not as she, and the rest of the warmunists, do. Public transportation is for the plebeians, not the patricians.

I think we are headed to another civil war. The path is very similar to the 1850s. That seems to be the only thing left to resolve our differences.

        • Elwood P. Dowd says:

The Civil War was fought because the conservatives in southern states wanted to keep dark-skinned people as slaves, and decent Americans opposed that.

Do you see a conflict between states or just personal fighting, neighbor against neighbor, brother against brother, until one side subdues the others?

Would you physically be willing to murder your opponents, such as Congressional Dems, people with Bernie Sanders bumper stickers etc. How would you know who to murder?

From the Fake News media to the lying liars in Congress. You are all liars. Just like Bernie and AOD and the rest of the Klown Kar you call a party. Screw all you America hating bastards.

    • Elwood P. Dowd says:

      Kye,

Have you had a cerebral aneurysm or are you demented? The total costs of health care in the US is about $10,000 per person per year on average. This information is easy to find. Do you know what average means? What makes up the total costs?

Insurance premiums (usually paid by employers, at least in part)
      Deductibles
Taxes (income tax, FICA) – Medicaid and Medicare receive general revenue supplementation
      Medicare premiums
      Direct out of pocket

You’re wanting to kill people for telling the truth about health care costs and global warming? Let me guess – you think DJ Trump is a great American. Here’s the problem – you white nationalists/fascists are a danger to the US. You have no idea what America is about. Do you think DJ Trump should declare martial law, take control of America for the good of the nation? Which commie in Congress is the biggest threat and needs his/her neck stretched first as an example?

Who’s going to hang the liberals you hate? The right-wing gov’t if the fascists can consolidate their power? Roaming white nationalist mobs?

      • david7134 says:

        Jeff,
I am afraid our resident stooge is you. You seem to easily fall for the hoax of the day and of all the people here have the least knowledge on any subject. So let’s have one big fund so nobody ever gets surgery again, right?

Again, let’s see the breakdown with sources. You throw a figure through the air with no substantiation (Uncle Joe’s favorite tactic) and expect thinking people to just swallow it.

That means a family of four pay $40,000 in health insurance while earning only $56,000 BEFORE TAXES which is thoroughly impossible. Liar. Nothing but commie propaganda and lies!
