If All You See…

…is a world turning to desert from carbon pollution from other people, you might just be a Warmist

The blog of the day is Not A Lot Of People Know That, with a post on the WWF’s polar bear tours causing problems.

In 1836, the Bank of England, fearing a run on its deposits of silver and gold, sharply contracted credit. British companies curtailed their business with the United States. Foreign demand for U.S. cotton plummeted, cutting cotton prices nearly in half.

The results reached all the way to the United States. In April 1837, world prices suddenly collapsed, creating a run on banks. On May 10, 1837, all banks in New York suspended replacing paper money with silver and gold payments. Banks in New Orleans and other cities soon did the same.

Unfortunately the ability of the world to cope with the root problem caused lasting problems. The economy briefly rebounded, but another contraction abroad brought on a second panic in October 1839, leading to four more years of depression and mass unemployment in the US. This was the second DEPRESSION in the United States in 20 years. 1819 and 1839.

This brought about an anti-globalist sentiment not only in the United States but in Europe because our cousins across the ocean believed trade with foreign nations was bringing about their economic woes while in the US the policies of the Europeans collapsed our industries causing depression at home.

I bring this up because people need to understand what is happening in Europe is not FACSISM. It is more akin to 1840-1860 America and Europe as they suffered through economic collapse and societal issues.

Many pundits and scholars on the left are trying to compare the revolt and uprising in Europe to the rise of Fascism in the 1930’s when in fact historically speaking the sentiments are more in line with what was going on in the world in the 1830’s and 1840’s.

Collapsing economies due to Globalist adventures and a rise in immigration around the world. Unchecked and unfettered governments with the inability to deal with the crisis they themselves were stirring up.

Sound Familiar? It should. This sentiment subsided in Europe by the 1860’s but in the USA the democrats who oversaw the failure of half the US banks were punished by the voters. They responded to their losses much the same way the left is responding to Bush and Trump today.

Now in fairness it was not the Democrats fault. It was Globalism’s fault and in Fact Van Buren actually had gained control of the economy before the depression in Europe hit the USA but that is an aside footnote in history. The result was the democrats desperately seeking of power at any costs after their losses in the 1840 elections. They turned to SOCIAL ISSUES. Hence slavery became the SJW cause of the 1840-1860’s until Civil war ensued.

One final bit of information to connect the dots to todays America and European. TIPPERCANOE AND TYLER TOO? anyone remember this slogan? The presidential election of 1840 was Harrison and Tyler from the Whig party who had never won a presidential election against an entrenched Van Buren.

What is astonishing is that in this election Featured Harrison and Tyler ADOPTING DEMOCRATIC POSTIONS and appealing to the RURAL or backwoods voters as well as Tyler who was a STATES RIGHTEST.

Today we have Trump who appealed to the rural voters and has adopted many of the positions of the moderate democrats he ran against.

Do not be fooled. Trump is no Fascist nor is America turning to fascism. This is simply a strategy by the left to return to power on the backs of social justice just as the Democrats did after the devastating loses in 1840 under similar circumstances world wide and particularly in America.
