Dem Rep Green: Trump Doesn’t Need to Commit a Crime to Be Impeached — 218 House Members Decide
Thursday on “Democracy Now,†Rep. Al Green (D-TX) said President Donald Trump could be impeached without having committed a crime.
Green said, “This is a very sad time in the history of our country. This is not something that I enjoy talking about, nor is it something that I would like to do. But I think it’s becoming increasingly clear that the president will have two options: One, he can resign from office, or, two, he can face impeachment. Impeachment is something that the Framers of the Constitution provided for a time such as this and a president such as Trump. The president does not have to commit a crime to be impeached. In fact, the president is not likely to be indicted, which means he’s not likely to be found guilty of a crime while he’s sitting, which means that if this comes before the House, it won’t come before the House as a president who has been found guilty, but rather as a president who is alleged to have committed certain offenses that are onerous to the Constitution and that harm society. And what this president is doing is harming society.â€

I missed the part about not having to have committed a crime nor about “harming society.” Democrats like Green should think long and hard about this, because they could set a precedent that comes back and takes a big chomp out of their posteriors, much like with Obama’s pen and phone, and Harry Reid nuking the filibuster.

It took congress over a year to investigate and try Bill Clinton. Upon clearing him the very next month the Whitewater trial began. Do you see a pattern here>?
The pattern is to paralyze the president with legal maneuvering. Now lets for a moment look at both Andrew Jackson and Bill Clinton. They were both impeached and stood trial. Their deeds were clear as day. Jackson quite clearly broke the law by attempting to remove Stanton from office without consulting congress. A clear crime for the president to violate the law at that time.
Bill Clinton quiet clearly was guilty of violating the law by obstructing justice. Never mind his moral ambiguity.
Neither were impeached but the government was shut down and paralyzed for well over a year because of the political actions of the opposite party.
The resistance will in fact impeach trump on Obstruction of justice. They do not care if they can prove it or not. He asked Comey to ease up on the investigation of his buddy. Its political. With enough votes they could impeach trump even if they did not have evidence.
Only the charge is sufficient. Take for example how many people are in prison for crimes they did not commit? It is only necessary to invoke a charge of crime and then go to trial.
So while you technically make a valid argument as Alan Dershowitz points out repeatedly, Impeachment is political above all.
Trump only has to be charged with a crime and there is no way on earth any democrat would vote non guilty, it all depends on how many never trumpers would vote Guilty to do the deed.

The crimes are what the House and Senate say they are. Trump will end up with a host of charges – obstruction, bribery, money laundering, conspiracy and heaven-forbid, treason. Mr. Mueller is a thorough and careful prosecutor and is turning over his cards one at a time.

I’m afraid they’re quite correct, given that if the Dems take the House, all they need is a majority vote to impeach, and if they take the House they are by definition the majority, and a “high crime or misdemeanor” will be whatever the majority of the House (the Dems) SAY it is. There is no way to contest their judgment on that matter, however silly it may be.
Of course, then they’ll have put Trump in the same bucket as Clinton–an impeached President. That does nothing unless the Senate votes to convict, by a two-thirds majority.

What is disgusting is that the Democrats only formulate policy based on a concept of winning or manipulating the U.S. to increase their power and all this has nothing to do with improving the country or actually improving the life and welfare of the average US citizen. Obama could have readily improved the business environment and thus the welfare of everyone by cutting taxes in 2009. Instead he went with a policy of pumping one trillion dollars into the stock market per year simply to make it seem that the market was improving. Economy 101 would have demonstrated that his position was stupid and would not work. This is my advice to Trump. Don’t fight Mueller, you have not committed any crime. Instead endorse Mueller and instruct DOJ to expand the investigation to include all election irregularities especially those by Obama and Hillary. Then appoint someone to investigate Mueller.

Trump has been investigated repeatedly since he was 20 years old. Clinton and the DNC tore the world apart looking for CRIMES only to come up with the fact he loves to bang women in and out of wedlock.
I do not think they will find any crimes but that does not matter. To the point of the post. They can take any action of Trumps and turn it into an impeachable offense. The entire point of my post is that if the GOP wishes to avoid a Trump impeachment they need to turn out in numbers unheard of before at the polls.
I do not advocate violence or civil unrest. I advocate the right needs to stand up for themselves and stop being the whipping boy. They have a very real chance of putting the left farther into the trash bin of history if they simply get out and vote.
The latest poll shows Trump with an over 36 percent approval rating by blacks now. Additionally another poll shows the main driver of his growing popularity now: a stunning 10 percent rise in Trump approval among Hispanics.
In fact another poll shows that more Hispanics agree with the GOP on border enforcement than they do with the Dems on the same issue.

So I believe despite the lefts belief in a blue wave they are once again going to be disappointed by the ballot box in November IF they turn out and vote.
