‘Climate Change’ To Make Danger Of Tsunamis Greater Or Something

New tsunami risk for Hull as experts say ‘absolute worst case’ predictions weren’t bad enough
Hull has already been hit by tidal surges but climate change means it is at greater risk from huge waves

With much of Hull lying below sea level and with the East Yorkshire coast eroding at an alarming rate the risk of more tsunamis is not good news.

The risk of the devastation caused by the huge waves is bigger than previously estimated because of climate change, according to new findings.

Tsunamis are destructive fast-moving waves that can be triggered by earthquakes, mountain slides, or meteor impacts.

But now because of sea-levels rising the risks for coastal communities around the world are growing, Plymouth Live reports.

OMG, this is horrible!

It is not clear if Hull has ever been affected by a tsunami throughout its history, but the city has been badly affected by tidal flooding.

So, it’s never happened going back thousands of years, but, a town that’s below sea level has been affected by flooding? Shocking!

But a new study by researchers suggests what was previously assumed to be the ‘absolute worst case’ regarding tsunamis now appears to be ‘modest’ for what is predicted in some locations.

The new findings show the likely increase of flooding would also move further inland than previously estimated from tsunamis following earthquakes.

Stop. Just stop.

For the study, Dr Weiss and his colleagues created computer-simulated tsunamis at current sea level and with sea-level increases of 1.5 feet and three feet in the Chinese territory of Macau.

You had me at “computer-simulated.” Not to be outdone, we have this from an Irish paper

Tsunamis will become more common and more ferocious with global warming, scientists warned after a study found that worldwide sea-level rises will increase the risk of coastal cities being wiped out.

Smaller earthquakes that currently pose no serious tsunami threat could unleash waves capable of decimating coastal cities.

It’s all about linking naturally occuring events to the Cult of Climastrology and predicting doom, yet, these same people won’t make their lives carbon neutral. Go figure.

Lt. Colonel Ralph Peters, former FOX military analyst who famously called President Obama a “big pussy” and harshly criticized Obama’s foreign policy, said this of tRump:

But for me the fundamental problem — everything else is a symptom — this is a president who doesn’t like our system of government, who does not understand our system of government, despises the idea of a separation of powers, of sharing power as was said here, and when it comes to the Constitution, he and many of his core supporters think it’s a menu. Think can pick what they like. Like the second amendment, but not the first so much. I see them as fundamentally un-American, not always intentionally so…

Trump’s genius, and it’s been done before by many a dictator — his genius with his core supporters is that he’s offering them absolution. nothing is their fault – it’s the fault of minorities. It’s a fault of the left. It’s a fault of the traditional Republicans. It’s a fault of immigrants. And his message to them is you’re not responsible, whatever failures you’ve had in your life, whatever bad choices you were, somebody else’s fault. He gives them somebody to blame. And at heart his core supporters aren’t builders, they’re couch potato anarchists who are thrilled to tear things down.

The core has been told so many times they’re entitled to more, and despite their red hats saying Make America Great Again, they’re not really wild about America. In fact, that’s something I charge – I would lay at the feet of the left and the right, that we’re an ungrateful nation. We’re spoiled, and we’re crying out that we deserve more. No, we don’t. We’ve lost that fundamental American value, the sense of responsibility, Trump is ultimately the theological anti-Christ of our political scene arguing that “nothing is your fault, I can save you.”

That’s what tRump wants his voters to believe – that can save them from diverse, liberal America – as he rewards the wealthy.

With all due respect, WTF does Ralph Peters have to do with tsunamis?
And why should anyone care what he says?

      • Jeffery says:

OMG, you’ve got us on the run today! Two errors in one day. The Peters quotes were intended for an IAYS post. Our abject apologies.

Why would anyone care if a conservative military advisor criticizes trump?

To us this is the most important point:

this is a president who doesn’t like our system of government, who does not understand our system of government, despises the idea of a separation of powers, of sharing power

And true because trump has no real stake in America, being a global businessman.

    • david7134 says:

      Jeff,
I notice you did not provide the context for these remarks. I have read some of Peters books and consider him ok, but no one from whom I respect his opinions. Now, on Obama, he is hands down the worst president we have ever had. I am sure that 98% of all scientist would agree. There is a good book on this subject and would direct you there. But as to Trump, he is one of the best leaders we have ever had, MAGA.

    • formwiz says:

      Diverse?

You taken a good look at the leadership of the Democrat party?

Besides, Trump is busy saving the Rust Belt Democrat America Zippy left behind. Like the trade war he’s winning with Red China prompting US Steel to invest in renovating Gary IN’s old steel plant.

And the colonel, sad to say, has fallen in with the NeverTrump psychos. He’s even sounding like Andy Cuomo.

Obama, he is hands down the worst president we have ever had. I am sure that 98% of all scientist would agree

What is your most relevant criticism of President Obama?

You’re entitled to your opinion, but you should recognize it’s a minority position. We suspect 98% of scientists think trump is a bad president. We know a trump voter, a PhD chemist, who now dislikes trump as much as he dislikes Hillary.

Americans, by a wide margin (56 percent to 37 percent), think Barack Obama was a better president than Donald Trump has been, according to a CNN poll of adults released this week. Americans think Hillary Clinton would have been a better president than Trump has been, but by a much smaller margin (47 percent to 44 percent).

The Peters’ quotes were from an interview with Ari Melber.

  3. david7134 says:

    Jeff,
Read the book, list over 200 failures.

  4. Jeffery says:

President Obama may have not told the truth to the media??? Unheard of!

Did you read the 500+ IG report? Did you see the recommendations regarding Secretary Clinton’s email server? There weren’t any. No “Lock her up!”, nothing.

There was no evidence uncovered that the FBI hid anything, that anyone involved had intent, nothing. They concluded that Comey should have been quiet and that AG Lynch should have been more involved. Nothing on Obama or Clinton conspiring with an enemy government to bugger the US electoral system.

dave – Who wrote the book you’re recommending?

Is this really your most serious complaint against President Obama?

    • formwiz says:

Little Jeffery doesn’t want to hear his Mocha Messiah was all over FISA, F&F, the witch hunt…

The IG Report, by universal acclimation, was a CYA on the surface. Howe’er, once you got into it, we’ve seen a lot of ugly stuff.

Too bad little Jeffery doesn’t read what his trollmasters tell him to type.

      • Jeffery says:

ZOMG! Secretary Clinton used a personal server! She even sent emails to then President Obama!! Treason!! Lock her up!! Lock her up!!

Some FBI agents don’t like tRump. They’re in good company, as 60% of all Americans don’t either.

When will tRump send his DOJ after Clinton and Obama? Why hasn’t he? Deep State?

    • david7134 says:

      Jeff,
Have you a whole book on the worst president in history and you can’t even look it up. Do you even read?

      • Jeffery says:

        david7134,

We found your book. It’s free from Amazon. We’re not surprised that you’re impressed. It looks like a rushed-out hackjob to make a few bucks from right-wingers.

We suggest David Cay Johnston’s “It’s Even Worse Than You Think: What the Trump Administration is Doing to America”. Johnston is a Pulitzer Prize winning journalist with expertise in tax law and economics, and has known Trump for 30 years. In 2016 he wrote “The Making of Donald Trump”, which you also might find instructive. Enjoy.

      • Jeffery says:

        How times have changed…

All the way back in 1986..

… the issue of foreign emoluments so troubled NASA that it sought a formal ruling by the Justice Department. The issue? Could a NASA scientist accept a $150 payment from an Australian university for reviewing, on his own time, a doctoral thesis on aerosol sprays. The task of evaluating whether this tiny sum violated the Constitution fell to a Justice Department lawyer named Samuel Alito, who pointed out that the Australian university was not a foreign government, though it was funded by one, and the scientist would be reviewing the dissertation on his own time in a field in which he was a renowned authority. Alito also observed that the NASA scientist was sought because of his expertise, not his government position. Because of these limiting circumstances, Alito wrote, “we do not believe that it presents the opportunity for ‘corruption and foreign influence’ that concerned the Framers and that we must presume it exists whenever a gift or emolument comes directly from a foreign government or one of its instrumentalities.”

Today, foreign governments pay millions to Trump Inc. to curry the president’s favor. The Trump Hotel in the Old Post Office raked in millions in 2017 after projecting losses prior to the election.

  5. Jeffery says:

… Trump has been profiting from federal, state, and local governments spending money at his properties as part of presidential security details. When Trump stays at Mar-a-Lago, his country clubs, or Trump Tower, these governments rent rooms, buy meals, and use golf carts for which they pay full retail prices.

… during his first 202 days in office, Trump spent sixty-five days at Mar-a-Lago, his New Jersey golf course, or Trump Tower.

Lawsuits accusing Trump of violating the Constitution’s emoluments clauses have been filed by attorneys general from sixteen states and by 196 senators and representatives, Democrats all; a bipartisan ethics watchdog organization called Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, or CREW; and a growing list of business owners who compete with Trump hotels and restaurants.

Johnston, David Cay. It’s Even Worse Than You Think: What the Trump Administration Is Doing to America (p. 25). Simon & Schuster. Kindle Edition.

Trump’s lawyers tell Americans to just suck it, as they have no legal standing to stop the Trump Kleptocracy.

  6. Jeffery says:

    Elijah Cummings (D-MD)

“Complying with the United States Constitution is not an optional exercise, but a requirement for serving as our nation’s President.” Under the emoluments clause gifts can be accepted when Congress grants permission. Cummings offered a simple way out for Trump—ask Congress to grant its consent to accept money at his hotels and golf courses from foreign governments and their agents.

    • david7134 says:

      Jeff,
Looked over the book and totally agree that Trump is changing the government for the best. Glad to have my thoughts verified by a Trump observer. MAGA.

  7. david7134 says:

    Jeff,
I could not find the Obama book for free. If I could I would pass it on to the people who can’t afford it thanks to the corruption of the shoe shine boy.

    • Jeffery says:

      david7134,

You must not buy enough books from Amazon. Not surprised.

Why use euphemisms for Obama, just call him a n*gg*r like you do in private.

Speaking of corruption, have you been reading about tRump, the US mob and the Russian mob?

Recall that Mr. Mueller can pursue any criminal activity he discovers. tRump was laundering money for Putin’s Russian oligarchs. The catch is whether a sitting President can be indicted. He’s working a deal to resign and NOT get prosecuted. President Pence will pardon him anyway.
