Paris Climate Agreement Success: Global Carbon Emissions Hit Record High In 2017

This is the fallout from the super-historic, super-mega awesome Paris Climate (scam) Agreement

Global carbon emissions hit record high in 2017

Global energy-related carbon emissions rose to a historic high of 32.5 gigatons last year, after three years of being flat, due to higher energy demand and the slowing of energy efficiency improvements, the International Energy Agency (IEA) said.

Global energy demand rose by 2.1 percent last year to 14,050 million tonnes of oil equivalent, more than twice the previous year’s rate, boosted by strong economic growth, according to preliminary estimates from the IEA.

Energy demand rose by 0.9 percent in 2016 and 0.9 percent on average over the previous five years.

Over 70 percent of global energy demand growth was met by oil, natural gas and coal, while renewables accounted for almost all of the rest, the IEA said in a report.

In other words, people decided they weren’t going to pay for the Beliefs of the Cult of Climastrology. Also, they realized that so much of the alternative energy sources are unreliable when weather, especially cold weather, happens. Which is why so many people have taken to burning wood like it’s 1499.

“The significant growth in global energy-related carbon dioxide emissions in 2017 tells us that current efforts to combat climate change are far from sufficient,” said Fatih Birol, the IEA’s executive director.

In other words part 2, the Cult leaders want more taxes and more restrictions and more control of people’s lives, because Paris was a miserable failure (which is a good thing). Oh, and carbon emissions is an unscientific term.

    You must be so proud!!

  2. Hoss says:

The Paris Accord was never meant to do anything other than squeeze hundreds of billions of dollars out of the United States over the years. The other countries really lost interest after they saw the guy with the biggest checkbook walk out of the room.

And they were all hoping to be on the receiving end of cash for carbon schemes. Not the paying end. Plus, it’s not like there is a gauge in each country that measures actual carbon emitted. Those are all just estimates. Estimates created out of thin air by bureaucrats who have a cash motivation for seeing the numbers that favor themselves.

Your conspiracy “theory” does not hold water (or oil). Industries and governments measure the consumption of gas, oil and coal by each nation. Hydrocarbons in = CO2 out. Science is hard, but not impossible.

Globally, the amount of fossil fuels burned correlates with the increase in atmospheric and ocean CO2.

In any event, your side has won. We (and especially future generations) will have to endure whatever the rapidly changing climates bring. Congratulations. You must be so proud.

        • Hoss says:

We just saved the next generation from being on the hook for worldwide wealth distribution of hundreds of billions, if not trillion, of dollars. You’re welcome.

        • Professor Hale says:

What part of “I have nothing to discuss with you” is so hard for you to understand? (hint: It’s rhetorical. I don’t care what your answer it).

          • Jeffery says:

            Then stop responding me us.

We understand why you prefer not to have your ignorance and lack of logic exposed. Our exposing you is not for your benefit, as we’ve found people like you are incorrigible.

      Absotively, posilutely correct!

  3. Dana says:

If other countries want to raise costs and taxes on their citizens, I have no objection whatsoever; that’s their business, not mine. I am perfectly happy if other nations want to make their own citizens poorer, as long as they leave us alone.

    • Hoss says:

The fact that they aren’t doing anything other than giving lip service proves they were never serious.

      • Jeffery says:

It could also be that when the world’s leading nation, and one of the largest polluters pulled out, the other nations decided not to do it alone. Sometimes leadership is required, something the US currently lacks. But you knew that.

We’ll have to endure all the extra greenery. Damn
