tRump: Harming America, one bad decision at a time.
All the Nu Con Men have is hatred. And racism. And bad ideas. And ignorance. And arrogance.
The Wall Street Journal Editorial Board calls tRump’s tariff decision “the biggest blunder of his presidency”.
High praise, indeed.
US corporations are using their tax cuts for enacting massive stock buybacks (over $200 BILLION so far in 2018, a record, according to the WSJ today) which increases the values of outstanding shares for the investor class. So not only did the massive tRump/GOP tax cuts for the wealthy benefit the wealthy directly, the massive tRump/GOP tax cuts for the wealthy also benefited the wealthy by increasing the value of their stock holdings! It’s a win-win for the wealthy!!
The GOP IS increasing gov’t spending in the Defense sector. Defense spending is not as big an economic boost at infrastructure spending or, especially, entitlement spending.
Now it’s time for that good ol’ GOP tinkle-down economics.
Oops! Consumer orders and company expansions are not happening. Maybe later. Listen, corporations have no incentive and no obligation to help anything but their own bottom line, and that’s what they’re doing.
Oops! tRump’s Fed is moving to raise interest rates to throw a few million of our working class citizens out of work to keep even a tiny bit of inflation from eating into the unearned income/ wealth of the wealthy (see above). These are those monetary policies that punish the workers and protect the wealthy that you’ve heard about.
Oops! The Don just announced massive tariffs on steel and aluminum which will raise prices on every item in America (but did jack up the stocks of US steel and aluminum manufacturers). (Pro tip: Look at tRump and his family’s/friend’s positions in the metals manufacturing sector. This could be a classic “pump and dump” where a crook pumps up the price of a stock he owns, and quickly dumps it before it crashes). tRump and his cronies may talk this up and then never enact the awful policy, but make billions more in the process. Be on the lookout. Mafia rooks and grifters like tRump practice these market manipulations all the time without being held accountable. If enacted, the new tariffs will hurt America and our working classes.
Oops! The GOP is dismantling any trace of universal healthcare, driving the true costs of healthcare up, up and more up! But at least the wealthy will not have to pay any of their burgeoning unearned income to keep the working classes and impoverished healthy! Overall, in America we pay twice as much per person for healthcare as do the other advanced nations, and we don’t even cover every citizen as they do in England, France, Germany and Sweden et al. The American working classes pay an unnecessary $1 TRILLION for healthcare every year!! Where does it go? Ask the insurance, pharma, hospital, clinic, medical device companies and the AMA. That’s about $5000 extra per man, woman and child in America. Talk about wealth redistribution. No wonder tRump and the GOP oppose real healthcare reform.
Oops! The Speaker of the House accidentally told the truth a few weeks ago (it’s actually an open secret) that the GOP wants to go after your “entitlements”, Social Security and Medicare that you’ve paid into your entire working lives, to help balance the budget that they continue to bust.
Tax cuts for the idle rich, service cuts for the working classes – it’s the GOP way.
It turns out tRump buddy and confidante, Carl Icahn, cashed in over $30 million in steel dependent stock just before tRump crashed the markets with his ill-advised tariff announcement.
Did Don the grifter tip off Icahn?
