Trump legal team readies attack on Flynn’s credibility
President Trump’s legal team plans to cast former national security adviser Michael T. Flynn as a liar seeking to protect himself if he accuses the president or his senior aides of any wrongdoing, according to three people familiar with the strategy.
The approach would mark a sharp break from Trump’s previously sympathetic posture toward Flynn, whom he called a “wonderful man†when Flynn was ousted from the White House in February. Earlier this month, the president did not rule out a possible pardon for Flynn, who is cooperating with special counsel Robert S. Mueller III’s investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election.
You can see how this is meant to paint the picture that Trump is a big meanie, is vindictive, and as a person who did something wrong and is going on the attack to protect themselves.
Attorneys for Trump and his top advisers have privately expressed confidence that Flynn does not have any evidence that could implicate the president or his White House team. But since Flynn’s cooperation agreement with prosecutors was made public earlier this month, the administration has been strategizing how to neutralize him in case the former national security adviser does make any claims.
Trump’s legal team has seized on Flynn’s agreement with prosecutors as fodder for a possible defense, if necessary. In court filings, the retired lieutenant general admitted that he lied to the FBI about conversations he had with the Russian ambassador to the United States during the December 2016 transition.
“He’s said it himself: He’s a liar,†said one person helping craft the strategy who was granted anonymity to describe private conversations.
Was all this based on one quote? Was it made it? We have no idea because there are zero named sources. Is the legal team doing this? Possibly? Legal teams strategize. How can we possibly trust the news media when their hit-jobs feature anonymous sources on a constant basis? Especially a media that is so rabidly anti-Trump?

I would be interested in seeing a comparison between all the things anonymous sources have said, that were the basis for major news stories, that were later proven not to be true.
My favorite is, “spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak on this”.
By revealing criminal acts in the White House, anonymous sources brought down President Nixon.
Journalists often use anonymous sources, but at risk. Even very sloppy reporters, e.g., Judith Miller, who pimped the Bush administration’s WMD lies, went to jail rather than name Scooter Libby as her anonymous source on “outing” Valerie Plame.
But this story shouldn’t be news to anyone who understands how tRump operates. Of course he’ll toss General Flynn under the bus if Flynn claims the campaign was in cahoots with the Russians (which is becoming more apparent).

The HILLARY LOVING FBI agents tricked flynn into revealing he lied to the FBI about a couple things. Then the very appearance of the fact hes supposedly worked a deal is supposed to scare the cockroaches out of hiding to beg for a plea to out whomever.

Mr. Mueller has indicted tRump Campaign Chairman Paul Manafort, National Security Advisor Michael Flynn, Security advisor George Papadapoulos and aide, Rick Gates, with undoubtedly more to come.
It’s baffling that the Trumpitistas and the GOP are not interested that Russia interfered with (and continues to interfere with) our electoral process. OK, OK, we get why the tRump fetishists defend him, but the GOP??

Really Jeffery? This is a witch hunt. But Im glad they are doing it because while they are doing this the DOJ is going after the Democrats for the same stuff.
Meuller is a good buddy of the Bushes. Someone should have seen this coming. GWB and his daddy are urging their good friend to fry the guy that denied their brother/son a shot at the White House. The Bush dynasty is dieing and with it their hopes and dreams of a new world order in which they have played a part since before WW2.
Why the right choose Mueller is mind blowing except we have to remember the right wants to nail him too for being a pool cleaner.
