Trump Pumps Up The Christmas At The White House

The Washington Post seems almost shocked that Trump would be going with “Merry Christmas” rather than “Happy Holidays”, as we saw with the previous president.

Trump vowed to end the ‘war on Christmas.’ Here’s how the White House is decorated this season.

The sparkle of the holiday season comes to the White House every year, but Donald Trump had promised the country more than twinkling lights and decked halls. As a candidate on the campaign trail, he pledged to end the perceived “War on Christmas.”

“You go to stores, you don’t see the word Christmas,” Trump said last year. “It says ‘happy holidays’ all over. I say, ‘Where’s Christmas?’ I tell my wife, ‘Don’t go to those stores.’ . . . I want to see Christmas.”

Melania Trump seemed to be taking cues from her husband’s desire for a traditional notion of Christmas when she unveiled the White House holiday decorations on Monday. It was all doused with an extra smattering of Trump-style cheer: (photo at the WP)

Gone were the “Season’s Greetings” that the Obama family placed on their Christmas cards. The Trump family’s official Christmas card reads: “Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.” The dominant color scheme is an old-school red, green and gold. And the official hashtag? #WHChristmas.

It’s very nice

The decorations include natural details such as magnolia leaves, amaryllis and pine cones. More than 150 volunteers from 29 states helped to put up the displays. In the Green Room, framed presidential silhouettes are strung on garlands and placed on antique tables. Red-and-white peppermint candies fill jars in the Red Room, which also features two traditional cranberry trees — Nancy Reagan’s favorite holiday decoration.

And this

But first, the Trumps will host more than 100 open houses and other receptions at the White House. The first lady’s office expects more than 25,000 visitors will take part in public tours. But even in Donald Trump’s White House, it won’t be all Christmas all the time: There is an official Hanukkah celebration, too.

There’s nothing inherently wrong with “Happy Holidays”, because you have Hanukkah, Christmas, and New Year’s. However, Progressives used Happy Holidays as a way to shame people into not saying Merry Christmas. They were apoplectic regarding the notion that Christmas is a Christian holiday (though almost none refused to not take the day off and/or refused holiday pay). They do not want anyone to see religion in public (well, the Christian and Jewish religions. They’re cool with Islam).

I’m betting there are no Chairman Mao, drag queen Hedda Lettuce, nor Trump’s face on Mount Rushmore ornaments.

But nothing about Jesus, Mary and Joseph?

    Heathens in the White House…

Untrue. They do not want the federal, state and local governments to support one religion over another.

We understand that some christians (white and conservative) feel discriminated against now that they are losing some of their privilege and unfair advantages. It’s the nature of religions, based as they are on myths and legends, to want to force their beliefs on others. So of course many christians feel hurt that local governments don’t put up christian displays during the winter holiday season.

It’s universal that when the less privileged demand more of their rights, the privileged feel oppressed.

You’re not fooling anyone, it’s always about your unhinged racism and bigotry.

        HillBillary,

Yet here in the St Louis area we have churches on nearly every corner, and no one objects to their religious celebrations on Xmas and Easter. No one objects to religious symbols on private property.

Thinking citizens want to make certain our federal, state and local governments do not favor or support a religion. It sounds as if you support taxpayers supporting your religion. Is that true?

I wasn’t making note of everyone in STL being a bigot and racist, it was specifically towards you. Reading is hard.

You’ve made it abundantly clear that you hate whites, and you hate Christians, I don’t “feel assaulted” by your bigotry. I have two grandfathers that had to defend their churches from the klan – people like you don’t spook me.

The swamp is getting theres. How many more of the kingmakers will fall. Soon it will be half of the DNC who colluded to insure that the Democratic party did not run a full blown communist for president. Doing so would expose to the USA and all these dumbed down kids who have no clue what communism is really all about.

Its actualy fun watching the establishment including Hollywood, the MSM and yes that includes Bill O’reilly and the leader at Fox for being destroyed over thinking they can just do whatever they want without having to follow the law.

I think however Jeffery probably thinks this is a totalitarian society for people actually having to follow the law.
