In Wake Of Texas Massacre, Of Course Democrats Are Calling For Gun Control

It’s kinda in their blood. Because we know that draconian gun laws have worked very well in places like California, New Jersey, and Chicago, right?

(Daily Caller) Many Democratic U.S. senators called for stronger gun control hours after a shooter opened fire during a Sunday service at First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs, Texas, killing at least 27 people and wounding several others.

The alleged gunman, identified as 26-year-old Devin Kelley, entered the church around 11:30 a.m. local time dressed in tactical gear and a mask, and unloaded “clip after clip” of rounds from a semi-automatic weapon, according to police and witnesses.

You get things like this from Democrats

There are tweets from Patrick Leahy, Cory Booker, Kirstin Gillibrand, Ben Cardin, Sheldon Whitehouse, and Dianne Feinstein. And then there’s Excitable Kamala Harris

Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.) called for gun control after a mass shooting at a Texas church left multiple people dead Sunday.

“Senseless gun violence has torn apart another community — this time in a house of worship. When do we say enough is enough?” Harris tweeted.

Of course she did. Will she and the others be giving up their own firearms and/or armed protection?

What is the most interesting is that while Democrats are super enthused to implement gun restrictions that won’t stop criminals but will disarm people trying to protect themselves …. the Texas nutjob was engaged by a lawful gun owner. It’s not clear yet if the nutjob was killed by the return fire or of a self inflicted shot … they are utterly opposed to restricting the importation of people from Muslim nations that are ripe with extremism. They are loathe to even name all these Islamist killers as Muslims. They refuse to link incidents where the killer yells “Allahu Akbar” to Islam. They blame the gun, but, won’t blame the religion.

We waste time and energy debating a settled topic. We need realize there is nothing to do but accept that a few times a year a crazy person with an AR-15 will kill some children, moviegoers, worshipers or concertgoers. It’s the price we pay for our freedoms.

  2. McGehee says:

The Usual Suspects™ are always looking for ways to help their primary constituency — that segment of the American public that shares their values and morals. It’s also why they want felons to be able to vote while still in prison.

  3. david7134 says:

This tragedy was the result of gun control. The guy who killed everyone had his gun rights taken away 3 or 4 years ago. The people in the church could not bring a gun to the service. So, this is a microcosm for the concept of gun control.

  4. Jeffery says:

So the far right’s answer to our domestic terrorism/massacre problem is to have everyone tote an AR-15. Would that have helped the hundreds in Las Vegas?

    • gitarcarver says:

Why would everyone need to carry an AR-15?

Handguns are good at stopping people as well.

But the call will go out to enact more gun laws even though we know the Texas shooter broke the law in getting his weapon.

Why is it that the left thinks that more laws that criminals by nature do not follow will make a difference?

    • david7134 says:

      Jeff,
You have defined the problem with our country. You can’t understand why someone would want or need a weapon, so we should outlaw it. Then you have a number of very stupid observations and comments. Now, the problem we have is not guns or types of guns but is the concept of mental health care. Remember the time the progressives eliminated it a few decades ago? Then we have people like you desiring to have a so called religion pouring into our country that has no problem killing innocent people in the name of their perverted prophet. So I really can’t understand why mass murder bothers you.

  5. Jeffery says:

Conservatives control the presidency, the House, the Senate and the Supreme Court. In addition they control most statehouses. Let’s see how they solve our crisis of recurring domestic terrorist attacks, if they care to. Perhaps they have no answer, or perhaps they just prefer to offer their “thoughts and prayers” every week or so.

Can you guys help them out? Maybe they just need to hear some of your good ideas. Obviously, ignoring the issue isn’t working. And the liberal “solutions” will never be enacted.

    • drowningpuppies says:

And the liberal “solutions” will never be enacted.

From the little fvcktard who advocated just the other day…

We think Dotard tRump should be shot in the temple for his crimes against America and Americans.

Blow me, little guy, you’re a piece of shit and a little coward.

  6. Jeffery says:

Would you agree that whomever sold Kelley the firearms should be prosecuted if they broke the laws?

It’s likely that the military and authorities chose to ignore the laws because they disagree with them.

    • david7134 says:

Again a senseless statement. Jeff, I think you are similar to the nut that killed those people.

    • gitarcarver says:

Kelley purchased the Ruger AR-556 rifle in April 2016 from an Academy Sports & Outdoors store in San Antonio, a law enforcement official told CNN.

When Kelley filled out the background check paperwork at the store, he checked the box to indicate he didn’t have disqualifying criminal history, the official said. He listed an address in Colorado Springs, Colorado when he bought the rifle, the official said.

There goes that argument from you.

It’s likely that the military and authorities chose to ignore the laws because they disagree with them.

The military and authorities disagree with laws that prevent criminals from getting weapons?

      • Jeffery says:

        git,

        DANA typed:

And now we hear that the Air Force did not notify the FBI of Mr Kelley’s conviction, and thus there was no disqualifying information in his background check.

So the AF DID drop the ball.

        • gitarcarver says:

There is a huge difference between “dropping the ball” and “ignoring the laws because they disagree with them.”

Secondly, it was still up to Kelley to answer truthfully on the application for the weapon and he did not.

Somehow liberals don’t understand that criminals lie and have no regard for the law. That’s why they are criminals.

          • Jeffery says:

Shouldn’t an effective law (or a mechanism of serious enforcement) require more than a statement on a form?

Maybe dp can walk into a bank and cash a check for $100,000 after telling the banker she has the money. What’s to stop her?

          • Jeffery says:

Do you have an explanation for why the military and state neglected to enforce firearms laws? Our opinion is that as conservative run entities they disagree with the seriousness of the laws.

          • gitarcarver says:

So perjury is not enough of a law for you? Fraud / theft by fraud is not enough of a law for you?

Thanks for making my point. Laws don’t matter because criminals don’t follow the laws.

As to your “opinion,” it is one not based on facts. To think that the military and governments would rather have criminals using weapons they got illegally makes no sense. None.

  7. Dana says:

Actually, there was a way to have prevented this: Mr Kelley should still have been in jail!

The Air Force let him plead guilty to two assault charges, let the sentence run concurrently, for one measly year. However, he struck his infant stepson so hard that he fractured his skull! Had this cretin been charged with attempted murder, as he should have been, and had the assault charges run consecutively, he’d still have been in the brig.

Dylann Roof had no felonies on his record, but he did have a drug charge, which would have prevented him from buying his weapons.

It wouldn’t stop all massacres, but the biggest single thing we could do to reduce all crime is to treat every crime seriously, and lock these bastards up for as long as the law allows.

  8. Jl says:

“Note too that 6% of the population make up 50% of homicides victims..” That’s right-they’re killing each other but somehow racism or white privilege or whatever is blamed as the cause

  9. Dana says:

And now we hear that the Air Force did not notify the FBI of Mr Kelley’s conviction, and thus there was no disqualifying information in his background check.

All the laws needed had been passed; the Air Force dropped the ball.

    • Bob spelled backwards says:

The news mentioned a current order of protection against him, this is a disqualification on the 4473 also. This would mean whatever state it was filed in dropped the ball as well.

  10. Jeffery says:

Conservatives want near unfettered access to firearms by the American citizenry, so there will always be some “leakage” where people who should not have dangerous firearms will have them (Charleston SC, Las Vegas, Sutherland Springs, Newtown etc).

It’s the price we pay for “freedom”.

We could get serious and tighten restrictions but we haven’t and we won’t.

The conservative answer is to make certain more “good guys with guns” stop the “bad guys with guns”, that is, to greatly loosen the current laws (which obviously isn’t working).

Conservatives now dominate American politics, controlling the presidency, the House, the Senate, the Supreme Court, and in addition, most US statehouses.

Dead children are a small price to pay for our “freedoms”.

  11. Jeffery says:

Should the Air Force personnel and the State employees who allowed the murderer access to the firearms be prosecuted? After all, 26 people, including kids, were murdered as a result of their negligence.

Or, as other commenters suggest, should we eliminate all laws limiting firearms possession?

    • Dana says:

It would be up to the commanding officer to press charges against Air Force personnel who did not report Airman Kelley’s offenses to the civilian authorities. However, regulations are not clear, and it appears that the USAF likes bad conduct discharges over dishonorable ones, because there is less f(ornicating) paperwork for a bad conduct discharge.

Airman Kelley was held in a Navy brig, because USAF has no prisons; Navy regs do not require that USN notify FBI of releases, nor provide fingerprint or conviction records to FBI. That regulation can, and should, be changed.

The solution is simple: we should always charge criminal offenses, especially violent offenses, to the maximum the law allows, and keep these thugs in prison far as long as possible. If someone like Airman Kelley is willing to slap around his wife, and hit an infant so hard that he fractures his skull, that person is irredeemably violent, and should always be locked up for every last second the law allows. Sentence to the maximum, and have sentences run consecutively, not concurrently. The Las Vegas killer had no criminal record, but almost all of the other mass murderers did have one, and not enough was done to keep them locked up. Airman Kelley should still have been in the brig on Sunday, had the USAF charged properly.

Taking away their guns is the first step.

One man with a gun can control 100 without one. V. Lenin.

The goal is always to take away the guns of the Masses.

The press should be not only a collective propagandist and a collective agitator, but also a collective organizer of the masses. Vladimir Lenin

Remember this when people like the communist agitator Jeffery calls for YOU to give up your guns. And to what end? So that the ultimate coup will be as bloodless and as easy as possible.

There can be no doubt that in the age of the internet the infiltration of every blog across the world is filled with both Communists and political infiltrators working to sew discord. Why else would someone like Jeffery who claims to have a CEO job which would require 100 hours of work per week can spend all day posting Angry and Inflamatory remarks on a blog that does not share his view points?

I suppose the Host allows it because it creates commenting. Just know that every website you visit the comments section are filled with both pro and anti American posters many of which are paid to sew dissention within the rank and file of the USA.

Bernie Sanders is a communist. He garnered almost enough votes to win the Democratic nomination. Communism is alive and well in the USA. Believe me. The EU is teetering right now and they don’t even realize it.

Totally agree with you rotter. Jeff is a nut job and as you can see constantly lies and turns to hyperbole. Everyone hear knows the truth, but somehow this makes jeff feel better. He should most definitely be investigate.
