“The Electoral College Is Not A Creation Of The Constitution” Or Something

The head of the Sore Loser Party is not only being a sore loser, but is Constitutionally illiterate (via Hot Air)

(Free Beacon)  Democratic National Committee chairman Tom Perez incorrectly stated “the Electoral College is not a creation of the Constitution” during a Tuesday night speech.

“The Electoral College is not a creation of the Constitution,” Perez said during a lecture at Indiana University Law School. “It doesn’t have to be there.”

The Electoral College, a mechanism for indirect election of the president created by the Founding Fathers as a compromise between smaller states and larger states, is clearly laid out in Article II of the Constitution: “Each State shall appoint, in such Manner as the Legislature thereof may direct, a Number of Electors, equal to the whole Number of Senators and Representatives to which the State may be entitled in the Congress.”

As Jazz Shaw notes

Just a brief observation in closing here. This is the guy the Democrats elected to lead their party out of the wilderness after the beating they took last fall. I’ll be the first to admit that there are some obscure bits of the Constitution that I couldn’t recite without looking them up first, but the establishment of the electoral college is a faily big deal. If Tom Perez didn’t even know that much about it, have the Dems really found the right man for the job?

It is something that the head of the DNC, someone who has been in government forever, should know. One has to wonder, though, if this is the start of a push by Democrats to make a claim, no matter how false, that the EC was something that was simply created extra-Constitutionally. That may seem outlandish, but, their base is made of sheep who’ll believe, or at least repeat, anything they are told, and, since the news media is primarily controlled Democrats, do not be surprised if this starts coming up.

A high ranked Dem not knowing basic constitutional facts? For them, that would be a feature and not a bug.

    No problem here.

When has knowing or obeying the law ever been a job requirement for a Democrat? Being ignorant of the Constitution is a resume enhancer for liberals!

Isn’t the Democratic party that party which believes the Constitution is what they say it is or should be. Not what it actually says.

I thought I have been hearing that they want to interpret the constitution in a manner that fits with their political narrative and not what or how it is actually written. This speech and idea would certainly fit in with their narrative and would be receptive to the communist party of the USA or AKA the Democratic party.

What is sad is how these people do not even realize that they are communist. I would invite all of these people to move to the EU for a couple of years and pay our 11-18 percent vat taxes on everything we buy. Work 30 hours per week. Pay income taxes in addition to 7-13 percent of your income goes to universal health care and then on top of that you then have to purchase a health insurance plan out of what you actually manage to bring home.

But at least you have free health care. Continue your fight for the real constitution. The main reason people are wanting to opt out of the EU is because of the forced immigration into our respective nations which is all about 90 percent Muslim now. Its not like we are receiving a massive influx of American Doctors no matter their color. We are receiving the worst of the worst that are fleeing a horrendous country or drought or poverty and they come to the EU, gather together and then begin demanding everything. When they don’t have jobs because no one wants to even go into their neighborhoods they then begin bullying EU residents, rioting and threatening.

People are sick and nationalism is starting to spread thru EU as well. Trump is hated for bringing nationalism and pride in America back and now the only push back the left has is that somehow 72 percent of America(Whites) should hate themselves for voting for their own interests.

Don’t you know your supposed to vote for Muslim, Blacks and Hispanics interests because to be inclusive is to be politically correct. Here is an idea. Why don’t Hispanics and blacks and Muslims who come to America or the EU take the concept that was adopted by the east Asian communities and JOIN your country rather then try to absorb it into their own eastern culture which they were fleeing.

    Perez should be fired.

  6. Dana says:

Mr Perez is the perfect DNC chairman: ignorant, barely literate and virtually unhinged, the embodiment of the policy which deinstitutionalized the mentally ill, he represents the party as few others could.

Heck, even Jeffrey thinks he should be fired, which tells us that even the left see him as a liability, for too accurately representing Democrats.

    • Jeffery says:

This from a man who supports the current Circular Firing Squad (GOP) in DC.

Regarding who should be locked up for being “mentally ill”… who decides? And has your precious GOP authorized the billions needed for more effective mental health (including tRump’s latest words on drug addiction)?

You shouldn’t advertise too much the conservative solution of putting those whom disagree with you in prison.

  7. Jeffery says:

somehow 72 percent of America(Whites) should hate themselves for voting for their own (ed. “white”)interests

Shouldn’t Americans vote for American interests?

Rot: What Final Solution do you recommend white Americans institute for Black Americans, Hispanic Americans and Muslim Americans?

    • drowningpuppies says:

Shouldn’t Americans vote for American interests?

Maybe you should ask Hillary and Obama that question considering the Uranium 1 “deal”?

Thanks for the setup there, little loser.

  8. Jeffery says:

And Mr. tRump is the perfect leader for the Republican Party.

A vain, white, ignorant, authoritarian, wife-beater; a lifelong cheater in business and marriage, a mean-spirited, foul-mouthed lout, unfamiliar with American ideals, who accumulated unearned wealth; a fake-Christian corporatist feigning interest in the mass of Americans.

He’s not just perfect for Republicans, he’s ideal.
