Isn’t it ironic? In the past, social conventions and the “guardrails” of decent society have constrained presidential excesses. Now, we have a president who flaunts these conventions, legally revealing highly classified information, legally firing the chief investigator investigating him, legally withholding personal financial information from voters, legally (maybe) benefiting financially from the office above and beyond his salary, legally keeping his wife in Manhattan at taxpayer expense, legally hiring family to run the government, legally attacking other American institutions and private citizens and on and on.
Isn’t it ironic that, because of the ignorant, clumsy, inept, indecent and unfit trump, Congress will end up instituting policies to restrain Presidents?
