Five Officers Killed, Six Others Wounded By Snipers In Dallas

Can you guess the one thing that is missing from almost all news reports? Who the shooters were

(ABC News) Eleven police officers were shot ambush-style, including five fatally, in Dallas Thursday night by at least two snipers, amid a protest against the recent police shootings of two black men, Alton Sterling in Louisiana, and Philando Castile in Minnesota, according to the Dallas Police.

One of the suspects had engaged in a standoff for several hours with police, but a Dallas city official announced around 3:30 a.m. that it was over. It was not immediately known what his condition was.

The condition of the six wounded officers remains unknown. One civilian was also injured.

Officials said the gunmen aimed to kill as many officers as possible.

Among the officers killed, at least one was a Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) officer. DART tweeted it was “grieving the loss” of Officer Brent Thompson, 43. Three other DART officers were injured: Omar Cannon, 44; Misty McBride, 32; Jesus Retana, 39. A DART spokesman said “they are expected to recover from their injuries.”

Unsurprisingly, there are many who are blaming the guns.

And there are plenty of folks on Twitter and in comments at news articles who are cheering the cold blooded murder of these police officers. Officers who had nothing to do with the incidents in Louisiana and Minnesota.

By 12:30 a.m. local time, three suspects were in custody and cops were in negotiations with a fourth, who was exchanging gunfire with officers.

Two of the individuals were taken in after one of them was seen carrying a camouflage bag walking quickly down Lamar Street in downtown Dallas. The individual then threw the bag in the back of a Mercedes and sped off. Police followed the vehicle and performed a traffic stop.

A woman was also taken into custody in the vicinity of the El Centro parking garage.

The fourth suspect was the individual engaged in a shootout with Dallas SWAT officers, police said, and a suspicious package was found near the suspect’s location. Police said the package is being secured by the bomb squad.

Who could they be? Are they NRA members? White supremacists? Sovereign Citizens? These are questions being asked on social media and again, in comments by Typical Leftists. Of course, some are wondering if they were Islamists. Initially, Dallas Police identified one guy as a suspect, but, after being detained, he was let go. So, we just do not know at this time.

We’ll surely know the identities of the shooters by the end of the day, and, if we don’t you can sadly bet that they are either Black or Muslim, and that the government is attempting to spin this.

Our resident anti-white racist should be happy. One of the suspects said he “wanted to kill cops, wanted to kill white people”. Seems the constant din of racial hate from the left including Obama is taking root. Soon the anti-white racist big government types will make a new call for gun confiscation to “protect the police”.

After eight years of democrats dividing people into white/black/Hispanic, rich/poor, gay//straight and every other way they may have stirred people up enough to declare martial law. After all the left does love them some police states.

Ahhhh most people in the USA believe it is the right wing as exemplified by Tump who is dividing our country
This is born out by polls that show Vlinton easily winning

Perhaps the police haven’t released that information yet.

The shooters could have been anybody, black or white, normal or homosexual, (nominally) Christian or Muslim. Actually, I wouldn’t be surprised if the shooters were white: sniper fire isn’t a typical assault pattern for black thugs or Muslim terrorists.

But if they turn out to be ISIS infiltrators who sneaked in during our idiot President’s policies of allowing those Middle Eastern refugees . . . .

    • John says:

Everyone wants their own greatest fears to be respondible for these murders so that those fears can then be justified
      Sorry, this is non ISIS

Apparently, there is more to the story about the shooting in Minnesota that the media is not reporting.

    John,
You do realize that a black extremist group is taking credit for the killing and promising more. So keep up you stupid rhetoric.

  8. Gregg says:

Might I remind people of the Beltway Snipers who were both black and as I recall identified themselves as muslim.

Agents say “the work to develop a thorough understanding of his motivation for this incident remains central to the ongoing investigative work.”

    It’s a mystery.

    Hoagie,

Like most normal folk I’m absolutely heartbroken by the attack in Dallas. The officers had families – spouses, sons, daughters, mothers and fathers; friends and colleagues.

Of course it’s not surprising you find it just another opportunity for ideological and racial partisanship. The far-right has responded in unison blaming all Blacks and especially the Black President.

Whom do you blame for the fact that white supremacists and sovereign citizens have killed for more policemen than Black terrorists have?

Micah Xavier Johnson, 25, who had no criminal history, deployed to Afghanistan with the U.S. Army from November 2013 through July 2014 and was in the Army Reserve from 2009 until last year.

The Dallas Police Department said Friday that during a search of Johnson’s home, they found “bomb making materials, ballistic vests, rifles, ammunition, and a personal journal of combat tactics.”

    Who said it?

Black people in the U.S. “are substantially more likely to be in a situation where the police don’t respect you, and where you could easily get killed.”

“Sometimes, for white people, it’s difficult to appreciate how real that is,” he said. “It’s an everyday danger.”

“If you’re an African-American, then you’re raising your teenage boys to be very careful in obeying the police,” he said. “Literally, their lives are at risk [if they interact with police], and they can see that on television.”

“If you’re a normal Caucasian,” he continued, “you don’t see that, because it’s not part of your experience. What we need is to have a conversation about mutual experiences.”

He also admitted that he has not always understood the disparity between how white Americans and black Americans are treated.

“It took me a long time, and a lot of people talking to me, to understand that if you are a normal white American, the truth is that you don’t understand being black in America. You instinctively underestimate the level of discrimination and the level of additional risk” that black Americans face.

Newt Gingrich today in an interview. Do you agree with him? Still want him to be Trump’s VP?

  16. Jeffery says:

    from the Daily Caller:

In the era of Facebook Live and smart phones, it’s hard to come to any conclusion other than the fact that police brutality toward African-Americans is a pervasive problem that has been going on for generations. Seriously, absent video proof, how many innocent African-Americans have been beaten or killed over the last hundred years by the police-with little or no media coverage or scrutiny?

This default assumption that the police officer was always right is, I’m sure, what a lot of well-meaning and decent middle class white people were raised to believe. Sure, there were incidents of police abuse, we were told, but those were very rare-and mostly happened in the Deep South. If you had to take someone’s word, you would always go with a police officer over the word of some random citizen (and, let’s be honest, for many Americans, this was especially true if that citizen was a minority). […]

Decent Americans cannot turn a blind eye to police abuse; they just didn’t really believe that it was happening. Or maybe they didn’t want to believe. Today, there is literally no excuse to be ignorant of the problem.

    from Red State:

The proliferation of cell phone video recording has really confirmed (in [black folks’] minds) something they have long anecdotally believed or been taught – that police often interact with minority communities in different ways than they do with the white community.
And here’s the most important part: when they do so, they never or almost never face punishment. […]

The most important safety valve to prevent violence like we saw in Dallas last night is the belief that when officers do go off the rails, the legal system will punish them accordingly. If minority communities (and everyone else, for that matter) believed that, resort to reprisal killings would be either non existent or far less frequent.

But they don’t, and there’s good reason for that. And that is because a huge, overwhelming segment of America does not really give a damn what cops do in the course of maintaining order because they assume (probably correctly) that abuse at the hands of police will never happen to them. As long as the cops keep people away from my door, they have my blessing handling “the thugs” in whatever way they see fit.

I see the attitude all the time even in the comments to the stories I write here at RedState.

Every time I post these stories, I get a flood of comments from people who look for even the smallest hook on which to hang an excuse for the cops. “Well, he was rude and confrontational to the cop.” “Well, when the officer was trying to arrest him, he ran.” “He was ‘resisting arrest.'” (My personal favorite, which was used by several dozen people I talked to regarding Eric Garner, whose “resisting arrest” consisted entirely of turning his back to a cop and putting his hands in the air.)

Look, this is not how a free society works.

Conservatives pointing out that police abuse Black folks is in no way justifying the horrific actions by the shooter.
