    Remember when the white house told us that Texas droughts were the new normal? That they would be permanent, and the 100 degree days would be much more common?

    None of that is true. The number of hot days has declined for the last 100 years and the amount of rainfall has gradually gone up over that time. The long term trend for Texas is slightly wetter and towards less drought:
