Cruz Dares Trump To File Suit On Ad

I listened to Trump hold a pity party earlier about how the media, especially Fox News, was being oh-so-mean to him (despite him having been on Fox And Friends this morning, and no meanness involved). Of course, the only one really making threats is Trump, and Cruz has responded in force

(Politico)  Ted Cruz on Wednesday said Donald Trump’s campaign had threatened legal action over a campaign ad. His response: Bring it on.

“Donald, if you want to file a lawsuit challenging this ad, claiming it’s defamation, file the lawsuit,” Cruz told reporters here after playing the ad, which shows clips of Trump espousing more liberal positions on issues like abortion from an interview with Tim Russert more than a decade ago.

Cruz, a Harvard-educated lawyer and former Texas solicitor general, went on to say he might depose Trump in court himself. And he warned that should Trump proceed, he and his lawyers would be “sanctioned in court for filing frivolous litigation.”

The Right Scoop has video of what he calls “Cruz throwing down the gauntlet.” Trump had a hissy fit back

Trump fired back at Cruz with a sharp statement. “He is a liar and these ads and statements made by Cruz are clearly desperate moves by a guy who is tanking in the polls — watching his campaign go up in flames finally explains Cruz’s logo,” Trump replied in a statement. He went on to pledge, “If I want to bring a lawsuit it would be legitimate. Likewise, if I want to bring the lawsuit regarding Senator Cruz being a natural born Canadian I will do so. Time will tell, Teddy.”

I triple dog dare him. There’s no way someone like Cruz decides to run for POTUS without doing their due diligence on whether he is eligible. I’d also like to see him file the suit on the add, because it would surely highlight all of Trump’s liberal leanings.

teach Trump is going to be the nominee of the GOP
None of the 3 Hispanic amigos (one by marriage) has a chance
the GOP run Congress has approval ratings in the low teens in your adopted state NC the GOP has gerrymandered the voting districts that should be split close to 50/50 in such s way that the GOP gets 75% of the seats
A new liberal SCOTUS will put an end to that type of electoral fraud
    Cruz was an anchor baby

  2. […] Tantrum when he heard about this, threatening again to sue Cruz over the ads and his citizenship. The Pirate’s Cove weighed in on […]

Poor l’il john can’t even keep up any more.

Trump Falls Behind Cruz in National NBC/WSJ Poll

None of the 3 Hispanic amigos (one by marriage) has a chance

Isn’t it amazing that with the panic Democrats are feeling, leftists like john immediately start making racist comments? What’s the matter john? Afraid of a Hispanic president?

The rest of john’s rambling is just more of him being an ignorant troll.

  4. Jeffery says:

The three latest national polls (Feb 10 – Feb 16) show Cruz +2 (NBC), Trump +20 (Quinnipiac), Trump +15 (USA Today).

    Has Cruz caught Trump?

Yes, No, Maybe… Depends on who’s counting.

What happens if it’s Cruz v Clinton, and both are declared ineligible?

Cruz won’t be declared ineligible because of precedence.

Clinton can’t serve if she is in jail.

BTW – isn’t it amazing how the Democrats have rigged the nomination for Clinton with so called “super delegates” that are not accountable to the vote of the people?

  7. John says:

GC most national polls I see on realvlearpolitics say Rubio has the best chance
    Harsh words from GC!!
Not from me though. I am quite optimistic about the POTUS 2016 election
Don’t blame me GC I am just the messenger
Apparently (states rights????) you see no problems in a majority party gerrymandering Congressional districts I think it is quite important and will be an important case ruled on by the Supremes
As far as Clinton receiving the votes of super delegates those are party rules
Super delegates are unbound they can choose or change their votes
Quite frankly GC for myself I would be happy seeing either of these two as POTUS. If you had to make a choice which would you choose?
Which GOP candidate do you think is most electable?

  8. John says:

Out of all the GOP candidates I would find it easiest to live with Trump who is probably going to win the nomination
    But lose the election
Cruz???? He is currently a 5 1/2 to one underdog to win the nomination

  9. Jeffery says:

CBS poll just released has Trump +17 over Cruz nationally.

Cruz better hope only NBC poll responders vote!

    http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2016/president/us/2016_republican_presidential_nomination-3823.html

Four national polls released this past week:

    CBS News:………………….Trump +17
    NBC News/WSJ:……………….Cruz +2
    Quinnipiac:………………..Trump +20
    USA Today/Suffolk:………… Trump +15

And the take-home from Cruz supporters is that “Cruz is winning!”

That’s the same cherry-picking reasoning they apply to evaluating climate data.

    It’s a brain thing.

I see problems with it john, but it doesn’t only happen in GOP controlled states. It happens everywhere. That’s the difference between you and I – I see it as a problem and you only see it as a problem in states where the GOP has a majority.

As far as Clinton receiving the votes of super delegates those are party rules

I know they are the party rules john. The problem is that those rules reject the will of the people as to who will be the nominee. I guess that you are for the elite ruling class.

Quite frankly GC for myself I would be happy seeing either of these two as POTUS.

I guess you are talking about Clinton and Sanders.

Sanders’ plans will cost the people 17 trillion in taxes and cut jobs. Clinton’s plans are a little shy of 1 trillion, but still affects jobs.

Finally, Bernie and Clinton don’t want to face Cruz. In a debate, he would rip them both to shreds. Bernie relies on “I can give you more by stealing from others!” and Clinton relies on her name and the fact that she is a woman. Perhaps that is why the media is slurping Trump and hitting on Cruz. At the same time, they are doing their best to ignore the costs of Bernie an Clinton’s plans. It should also be noted that the main stream media was dragged kicking and screaming into the email server debacle and still covers Clinton’s illegal actions as a back burner issue. She of course, will get cover from DOJ just as the State Department has tried to avoid and not comply with FOIA requests.

Bernie and Clinton don’t want to face Cruz. In a debate, he would rip them both to shreds.

Why do you think that? Raffi Cruz has not done well in the American debates, so far. Perhaps he could do well in Canadian debates.

As has been explained before, the problem with handicapping the GOP side from the liberal perspective is the damage that can be inflicted on the nation by the election of Republican extremists vs the likelihood of them getting elected. Since 1980, Republican Presidents have been very harmful to the nation – wrecking the economy, invading nations for no good reason and appointing extremist judges. I DON’T believe the Republicans actually intend to harm America, it’s just they don’t understand what their ideologies wreak.

Cruz would continue, if not exacerbate, the destruction of the poor and working classes started by Mr. Reagan, and would add direct oppression of minorities, gays, non-Christians and women to his cauldron. His neo-con foreign policy “ideas” would further add to the destabilization of humankind. Cruz displays all the hallmarks of a sociopath, so there’s no telling what he will do.

Even though Trump is more electable (and that says a lot about Cruz as a candidate when the opposition thinks Trump is more normal) I would choose Trump over Cruz every day and twice on Sunday, because the risk to the nation of a Cruz Presidency are so great.

Romney was a safer choice from the Dem perspective because although he was more electable than the typical conservative clown car members, he was also less dangerous to the nation – he is likely sane. The same calculus attended the McCain nomination (until he chose Palin) – he is sane.

Dems usually favor the least crazy of the Republican candidates, just in case the Republican dirty tricks and election fixing works (see 2000). All that President did was invade Iraq and destroy the US economy. I wish McCain had won that nomination!

  12. Stosh says:

Are these all the same polls that predicted President Romney and the Demonkrats holding the Senate in 2014?

  13. gitarcarver says:

Why do you think that? Raffi Cruz has not done well in the American debates, so far.

I have no idea what you are watching but except for one debate, Cruz has always been in the top 2.

In a debate against Clinton, Cruz would kill her on anything that has to do with the law and her record. With Bernie, that 17 trillion is sitting out there. Also on stage with so many other people has hurt Cruz as he is not prone to simple positions. His positions are nuanced which is not easy to get out and reported. Your statements on Cruz shows that. One on one in a debate, he is a stone cold killer who can think on his feet. Neither Clinton nor Sanders can do that.

it would be a bloodbath for Clinton or Sanders to debate Cruz.

I DON’T believe the Republicans actually intend to harm America, it’s just they don’t understand what their ideologies wreak.

And yet what we have seen historically is that Democratic policies destroy America and it is up to the Republicans to clean up the mess.

Democrats love stealing from people (as you yourself have proposed when it comes to the intellectual property of others.) They are for big government forgetting that government never creates or sells anything. The government only takes.

We’ve seen the destruction of liberal bastions in cities like LA, Washington, Baltimore, Chicago and countless others.

Somehow you think that expanding those failures to the rest of the country is a good thing.
