Ten years ago, on January 25, 2006, Al Gore stood before his Sundance audience at the screening of his “An Inconvenient Truth.†(snip)
The Washington Post reported Al Gore “believes humans may have only 10 years left to save the planet from turning into a total frying pan.â€
CBS News wrote Gore predicted the earth would be in “a true planetary emergency†within the next ten years unless drastic action is taken to reduce greenhouse gases.
Yet, here we are on the 27th of January, 10 years and 1 day past his prediction, and this has not come to pass. Rush Limbaugh has had a counter clock on his website ever since Gore’s prognostication of doom, and today it reads “Time’s up…and we’re still here.” This is the reason why the Cult of Climastrology has moved towards making dire predictions of global doom from tiny increases in CO2 and temperature out to 50 and 100 years, when most people who read or heard them are dead.
Alas, do not think Gore nor the rest of the CoC will give up. There’s too much cash involved, not too mention pushing their authoritarian political beliefs.

Here’s what Gore said in 2006:
unless drastic measures to reduce greenhouse gases are taken within the next 10 years, the world will reach a point of no return
Nothing about the world burning by 2016, nothing about doom in 2016.
A point of no return. Have we done nothing since 2006? The Earth will warm at least another 1C regardless, probably more. Gore was right.
