Thanks Obama !!! Gas UNDER 2 bucks

  2. drowningpuppies says:

    Thanks obama.
National debt at $20,000,000,000,000 and rising.

  3. Jeffery says:

Thanks conservatives. You cut taxes on the wealthy, invaded nations for no reason and your deregulation ruined the economy.

    National debt at $20 trillion.

  4. gitarcarver says:

You cut taxes on the wealthy, …..

    Which increases spending and growth.

    invaded nations for no reason……

Please be specific as to what countries the US has invaded?

…..and your deregulation ruined the economy.

So therefore the billions and billions of new regulations have saved the economy?

So it was the deregulation of the auto industry that caused it to need to be illegally bailed out? It was the deregulation that caused bank examiners to force banks to take on high risk loans under the threat of regulations?

That’s a stunning false assessment Jeffery.

    Thanks conservatives.

You’re welcome. Someone has to be looking out for the country because it isn’t left leaning progressives and liberals.

  5. Jeffery says:

    Which increases spending and growth

Tax cuts for the wealthy do not decrease deficits, but rather increase them.

We spent as much as $3 trillion on the Iraq invasion, occupation and aftermath – with no plan to pay for it.

The deregulation of the banking system led to the ruined economy – you know that – and caused the greatest economic downturn and personal tragedies since the great depression.

Conservative policies enacted by Republicans with Dem help have created today’s economy.

  6. gitarcarver says:

Tax cuts for the wealthy do not decrease deficits, but rather increase them.

Factually false. With more money to invest, there are more jobs and economic expansion.

We spent as much as $3 trillion on the Iraq invasion, occupation and aftermath – with no plan to pay for it.

Your initial point was that we “invaded nations for no reason.” So you think that Iraq not complying with the UN was “no reason.” You think that Iraq continuing to develop proscribed weapon systems and WMD’s was “no reason.” You think that Saddam diverting money from the “Oil for Milk” program to the point where the UN and the Red Cross said 5,000 people in Iraq – mostly women and children – were dying each month was “no reason.”

It is clear that you don’t know the facts.

The deregulation of the banking system led to the ruined economy – you know that – and caused the greatest economic downturn and personal tragedies since the great depression.

Actually it was the over regulation of banks and lending institutions that helped cause the economic crisis.

Even today, we have more banks failing and being taken over by the government because of regulation, even though the banks have strong histories and were fine. It is also worth noting that the new banking regulations have resulted in no new banks opening in the United States since 2011 – the longest streak since the Great Depression.

Sorry to say this, but you are simply wrong on all of your points.

    gitarcarver,

Sorry to say this, but you are simply wrong on all of your points.

  8. david7134 says:

    Jeff,
If you cut taxes that means you are going to be cutting them on the wealthy as they are the only ones paying the taxes. That song and dance just doesn’t cut it any more. Then if you cut taxes, our economy grows and the growth means more tax revenue. This has been proven time and again. But people with little intellectual ability can’t seem to understand the concept. Look how well we are doing with your system, Obama and Clinton raised taxes considerably, spent money out the of mind, and rolled up a deficit of 20 trillion. The result is that we are in a deepening depression and it is not going the get better any time soon. If you don’t like the deficit try something innovative like stopping spending by the government. That would most definitely make the economy take off. Were did I get all this info, I took courses in economics for fun, try it, you might learn something.

  9. david7134 says:

    John,
Yes, Obama gave us $2 gas, by killing the world economy. So, thanks big O we needed that.

  10. Dana says:

What I noticed was yet another pretty girl who ruined herself with tattoos. 🙁

  11. Dana says:

To our host’s leftist commenters, just what part of what other people earn do you think is somehow your fair share?

  12. Jeffery says:

    Dana,

It varies with income (not all income is earned).

What big cuts to the budget do you propose to keep us in the black?

Social Security? Defense? Medicare? Medicaid? Interest? (there’s little else to cut).

Was the US a socialist/communist nation when the top marginal income tax rate was 90%? 70% 40% 28%

  13. gitarcarver says:

Sorry to say this, but you are simply wrong on all of your points.

Thus ends another brilliant discussion with Jeffery.

Jeffery thinks the Red Cross and the UN lied about Iraq.

Jeffery thinks that even though governments offer tax breaks to businesses, the people who run the business themselves are too stupid to know how and when to spend money to grow a business. Therefore he advocates taxing people, sending it to a government seat and after salaries of people who don’t produce anything are taken out, the money is returned to the same people who paid the taxes to begin with. In short, Jeffery thinks that the government is right and the people who are doing the same things cheaper are wrong.

Social Security? Defense? Medicare? Medicaid? Interest? (there’s little else to cut).

This is the ridiculous mindset of the left. They think that there has to be cuts of entire programs in order to save money. They refuse to think that smaller projects can be cut with no loss of services and savings.

    (See http://cagw.org/ )

There are even programs that can be expanded and bring in more funds. (Medicare / Medicare fraud is a big one, for example. It is estimated that there is enough fraud in those two programs to insure everyone.)

Heck, we can even save money by teaching basic courses to Secretaries of State on things like laws on email retention, secret classifications, etc. Then we wouldn’t have to be spending money on tracking her illegal acts down..

Instead, leftists promote more taxes and more regulations which take money out of the pockets of people and businesses and do not produce anything nor bring any sort of economic multiplier.

Tell ya what Jeffery…… you are free to give all the money you want to the government since you think they know better than wage earners how to spend the money.

  14. Jeffery says:

Sorry to say this, gitarcarver, but you are still simply wrong on all of your points.

gitarcarver wants everyone else to pay for his protection, this civilization, the roads, the schools, his healthcare and his retirement.

Will gitarcarver swear off using government highways, Social Security, breathing clean air and drinking clean water. Or will he at least pay his fair share?

Will gitarcarver pay back to We the People (with fair interest) any and all use of We the People’s infrastructure, services and protections. Yes, it’s difficult to assess the absolute value of living in the US. The stability afforded by our public education systems, our infrastructure (even after we’ve let it deteriorate since 1980), our social safety net, our courts; the protections offered by our police, firemen, sailors and soldiers – will gitarcarver pay this back?

Did gitarcarver at any time attend a public school? Pay it back. Collect unemployment? Pay it back. Take a drug approved by the FDA? Pay it back.

gitarcarver would have you believe that his dumb luck of being born in the US has absolutely nothing to do with his successful career as a gitarcarver and conservablogger.

gitarcarver believes if he had been born in Burundi he would be just as successful as now.

gitarcarver is perfectly free to move to any number of nations where the taxes are lower, where he can live free or die based on the sweat of his brow and his ability to fend for himself. Yet he prefers to live within the shores of an America he loathes, sucking at the teat of a nation that provides him protections and stability he abhors! I’ll leave it to the hypocrisy experts to decide if his behaviors qualify.

gitarcarver believes taxes are evil, unfair and confiscatory, instead of being the price we pay for civilization.

  15. Dana says:

In response to the question “just what part of what other people earn do you think is somehow your fair share?” Jeffrey replied:

It varies with income (not all income is earned).

It isn’t? We bought our retirement home in the Bluegrass State in 2014, but aren’t actually retiring until 2019, so I am renting out the house rather than leaving it empty. Some might say that the rental income is unearned, but I certainly had to work for the money we spent to buy the place.

If I put money into the stock market — I do — and I have a gain in value, you might say that I didn’t earn that gain, but I certainly earned the money I invested.

In the end, all income is earned!

But it still doesn’t matter, does it, because the basic question went unanswered: just what part of what other people earn do you think is somehow your fair share?

  16. Thanks conservatives. You cut taxes on the wealthy, invaded nations for no reason and your deregulation ruined the economy.

    National debt at $20 trillion.

Last time I checked, Obama was president. Where we not supposed to have this massive time of economic awesomeness through liberal economic policies?

But, yeah, I can understand how you would be upset with that whole blowing Libya up for no reason than leaving the nation to clean up the mess.

  17. david7134 says:

    Jeff,
Your comments are not making sense. And, you are wrong on just about everything.

  18. gitarcarver says:

Sorry to say this, gitarcarver, but you are still simply wrong on all of your points.

And to prove how I was “wrong,” Jeffery launches a tirade on something I never said or believe.

He not only moved the goalposts, he moved the field, the stadium and the town in which the goalposts are located.
