(Daily Caller)  Oregon State University will host a workshop next week that will explain to students how ordering a coffee at Starbucks involves “implicit biases that contribute to injustice†and connects to the “recent killings of black men†by white cops.
The Jan. 19 workshop entitled “Making the Unknown Known: Exploring Implicit Bias in Everyday Life†is part of a nine-day Martin Luther King celebration at the school, reports Campus Reform.
“What do the Supreme Court’s ruling on the Fair Housing Act in late June, recent killings of black men by White [sic] police officers, and a person ordering coffee at Starbucks have in common? Answer: Implicit bias, which refers to attitudes or stereotypes that influence our perceptions, judgements [sic], and behaviors in an unconscious manner. In this workshop, participants will gain knowledge about the concept of implicit bias, discover how it shows up in their lives, and learn ways to uncover and challenge the implicit biases that contribute to injustice.â€
BTW, for all you solar lovers, they have another workshop: “Some OSU solar panels were manufactured by prison laborers who were paid $0.93 an hour. Powered by Prison Orange participants will discuss the complexities of making decisions that are social just, economically fair, and environmentally friendly when two or more of these areas are in conflict.”
Hilariously, Oregon State has a student body that is 67.8% White, and just 1.3% Black. Their faculty composition is even worse, at 81.4% and .9%, respectively.

Ordering Starbucks=implicit bias? Liberals=brain dead
So it’s unjust to allow inmates to make money? Price is the enticement for prison industry. If inmates want higher wages, they can…strive not to become inmates. What do college students have against choice? The work is voluntary. Inmates, by definition, have a lot of time on their hands. A job, even a relatively low paying one, helps pass the time and gives them some spending money for a few amenities. The inmates must see the value in that, or they wouldn’t do it.

I get my morning coffee at the Bagel Bunch, a small business unaffiliated with any national chains. Since it ain’t Starbucks, does that mean I’m not racist for buying there?
I could go a bit further down the road, to a Dunkin’ Donuts. Now, why do I choose the Bagel Bunch over Dunkin’? Simple: Bagel Bunch is on the right side of the road, while Dunkin’ is on the left, and would be more of a pain to get back out on the road to work.
And Jeffrey should applaud! The easier-in and easier-out choice that I have taken means that I spend less time with the engine running, waiting to be able to make a left hand turn! I is being green!
