There Are 5 Reasons Hotcoldwetdry Is Worse Than You Think Or Something

Not just doom, but super doom! This comes way of the World Economic Forum in their Agenda area. Think they have an agenda?

5 reasons why climate change may be worse than we think

Goal 13 of the Sustainable Development Goals is about taking urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts. Superstitious about the number 13 or not, climate change really will be unlucky for some people; if we do not control the problem it will be devastating for all. Here are five areas of concern.

1. Severe impacts of climate change are happening now. With “only” a 0.85oC rise in global average temperature, we are already seeing changes in extreme weather and this is driving the most damaging impacts. The frequency and intensity of heatwaves have increased in Europe, Asia and Australia. The global water cycle is intensifying. More places around the globe are being hit by more rain and heavier rain, including Europe and North America, while some regions have seen increases in the duration and intensity of drought. Intense tropical cyclone activity has increased in the North Atlantic.

Of course, in reality, extreme weather has not increased, and North Atlantic tropical cyclone activity has fallen sharply over the past 10 years.

Then we get (you’ll have to hit the link for the full paragraphs)

2. The polar ice sheets are melting at accelerating rates

Nope. And it still couldn’t be scientifically linked to anthopogenic activities. Unless you count all the Warmists taking fossil fueled planes, vehicles, and boats to check out the poles.

3. The risk of abrupt, irreversible changes looms ahead.

Again, a future doom prognostication.

4. Climate change is a threat multiplier.

Yes, perhaps. Heck, certainly. That doesn’t prove anthropogenic causation.

5. The more we learn about climate change, the riskier it looks.

That’s not an actual reason per the fable’s headline, it’s just sort of reiterating the headline. I was expecting some sort of actual scientific proof.

We have collectively built and optimized all of human civilization for the relatively stable climate that has existed for thousands of years.

The climate which has flipped multiple times from warm to cool, for which many of the warm periods were warmer than the current minor warm period. Facts are immaterial to the Cult of Climastrology. This is about politics.

I don’t want my taxes spent on it.

Other than that, I look on the whole scam as a tax on gullibility.

  2. Jeffery says:

Well, there’s your problem right there! None of that is relevant.

What IS true is that all of human civilization developed during the stable climate of the Holocene.

  3. Jeffery says:

    1. …extreme weather has not increased,

    From the link you provided.

On heat waves: globally the length and frequency of warm spells, including heat waves, has increased since the middle of the 20th century.

On extreme precipitation: since 1951 there have been statistically significant increases in the number of heavy precipitation events (e.g., above the 95th percentile) in more regions than there have been statistically significant decreases,

In addition, the insurance industries (see for example, Munich Re) say: we find a steep increase in the number of loss relevant weather events (about tripling in the last 30 years) we only find a slight increase in geophysical (earthquake, volcano, tsunami) events.

I guess the insurance companies are in on the scam, too. And are giving away billions of dollars for political reasons.

    2. The polar ice sheets are melting at accelerating rates

    Teach types: Nope

A one word lie! That is Denialism most raw!! Both the Artic and Antarctic ice sheets are losing ice. You can add in Greenland as a bonus! Where does the Denier lie come from? Arctic: 2012 had record low ice extent and has rebounded slightly since, but the trend is down, down, down. This is similar to Deniers saying it’s only warmed a little since the record high in 1998. Antarctic: More pseudoscientific sleight of hand. Southern ocean sea ice is increasing ever so slightly and parts of the massive Antarctic ice sheet are not losing much ice. But overall, the massive Antarctic ice sheet is losing volume.

Climate change is needed so evolution can proceed. Stopping climate change will deny species their opportunity to evolve. Evolution needs the challenge.
