Hillary Opposes Keystone XL Because It’s A Distraction Or Something

Let’s not forget that the State Department came out with numerous papers during Hillary’s time in office that basically said there was no problem with Keystone XL. Anyhow, this is about as nuanced as a position gets

(The Blaze) Hillary Clinton said at an Iowa rally Tuesday that she opposes the Keystone XL pipeline.

The Democratic frontrunner called the issue a “distraction” from the global warming conversation and, therefore, said she doesn’t support it.

“I think it is imperative that we look at the keystone pipeline as what I believe it is, a distraction from important work we have to do on climate change,” Clinton said at the Des Moines event, “Therefore I oppose it.”

Yup, that’s about as meaningless as it gets with Clinton.

Meaningless statements work perfectly well with the low-information voter base that somehow thinks that stopping the Keystone pipeline will somehow prevent the tar sand oil from being extracted and shipped and combusted somewhere in the world. The lack of which will somehow prevent the mythological global warming catastrophe that the government-paid modelers predict. And of course she was for it before she was against it. Her followers have to take three magical leaps of faith just so they can vacantly smile and nod at her empty statement.

And of course the Keystone Pipeline is really 4 different sections, 3 of which have already been built. The 3 sections already made run over 1000 miles, while the disputed section is suppose to be about 300 miles. One with brains would ask “if the other 3 sections are ok, what’s the difference with the 3rd?” Either way, I’d wager 0 out of 10 liberals even know that most of this evil pipeline has already been built. You can’t fix stupid liberals.

I have documented this previously: without the pipelines, the product is simply being shipped by rail. Of course, shipment by rail is inherently less safe than using a new pipeline, and it adds to the eventual costs, so it means more lives will be lost and more property will be damaged, but the oil itself will still get used.

That’s not true. There is 840 miles of the pipeline to be built in the USA, the pipe has been bought (and a lot of it is stored within 4 miles of me) but the digging has not begun on the northern section which connects to Steele City.
