New Study “Links” Climate Change To Extreme Weather

Of course it does. Despite virtually every other study saying “nope!”, and even the UN IPCC hedging its bets, the Cult of Climastrology has continued to trot out talking points about extreme weather and climate change, hence the need for a “scientific” study

Droughts, Floods and Heatwaves: Blame It on Climate Change

As temperatures soar to record heights, blame it on global warming—but only about three-quarters of the time. And when the rain comes down by the bucketful, you can attribute one downpour in five to climate change.

Yet another team of research scientists has looked at the probabilities, and has linked extremes of weather with global warming.

Well, really, climatic changes are nothing new. They’ve always happened, and warming and cooling, heck, even Pauses, can cause weather to happen a differently. Certainly, the weather was much different during the Little Ice Age than it was during the Medieval Warm Period, and the current Modern Warm Period. But, of course

Extremes have always happened and are, by definition, rare events. So, for the last 30 years, climate scientists have carefully explained that no particular climate event could be identified as the consequence of a rise in global average temperatures driven by the release of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases from the burning of fossil fuels.

And that’s where it breaks down, linking the whole kit and kaboodle to fossil fuels.

If the temperatures go up to the 2°C that nations have agreed should be the limit, then the probability of precipitation extremes that could be blamed on global warming rises to 40 percent. They are less precise about heatwaves, but any rise could be sharp.

Of course, the problem here is that 95% of the computer models failed to predict the current Pause, a pause that is acknowledged by climate scientists (though, mostly not by rank and file members of the CoC). Could the temperature go up by 2°C? Yes, it could. Will it? Despite the scaremongering talking points, no one really knows. The global temperatures have only gone up 0.8°C since 1850. It’s going to have to accelerate for it to go up 1.2°C by the end of the 21st century.

Such studies are calculated to help provoke governments, states and water authorities into preparing for climate change, but it just may be that the western U.S. is already feeling the heat. California, in particular, has been in the grip of unprecedented drought, and researchers have already linked this to climate change.

Huh. So this is really about politics. Go figure.

G-d, what an idiotic article written by idiots based on idiotic ‘science’. The challenge with this article is to find one thing that is true with it. Everything I saw is utterly baseless and on the same level as high-school kids sharing celebrity rumors on Facebook. The kid that wrote this article isn’t reporting on scientific findings, he’s trying to set up his nerdy cult friend on a date with the fat girl at the climatology propaganda center.

  2. Wait till you see the one I’m going to post around 4pm.

And I have another whopper which will go tonight or tomorrow.

13 of the 15 hottest years on record have occurred since 2000
This happened while the Sun is in a “cool” or dim phase
Total volume of ice on the planet is also down
Climate truthers feel that they have a special knowledge in the case of climate change this special knowledge they deem is superior to that held by institutions such as the US military of all branches and higher education like universities. They prefer to believe that the positions bought and paid for by fossil fuel companies are correct.
But even the climate truthers now say that the earth is warming, something that denied for decades.

Here’s the abstract to the article:

    http://www.nature.com/nclimate/journal/vaop/ncurrent/full/nclimate2617.html

When you take your god’s name in vain, do you think she’s fooled by typing G-d? If I can figure it out I bet the Omnipotent, Omniscient Creator of the Universe can too.

Yes, Deniers denied that the Earth was warming (some of the dumbest still do). Then they Denied that CO2 could cause warming (many still do). Then they Denied that CO2 comes from fossil-fuels (many still do). Now, they Deny that warming is a problem, or that slowing warming is too high a price to pay. But they never tell us what that “price” is, just that it will take away their FREEDOMS! like Obama took away their GUNS!

The Earth is not flat. The moon is not made of cheese. The Earth is not the center of the universe. The Earth is warming from CO2 we’re adding.

    john,
What? Why do fossil fuel companies strive to subvert science? By any measure, the oil companies stand to gain with the stupid regulations that you desire. They also have diversified to minimize the impact of any stupid legislation. Also, they will simply pass along the cost to you, of stupid legislation. The oil companies seem to be trying to interject some real science into your religion. Also, the only ones who are getting paid to have a particular position seem to be the climate scientist who get grants, faculty positions, ability to publish (which enhances their careers) and in general act just like prostitutes (except that denigrates prostitutes). I really wish you would read a little military history, especially that of the US, to find out how really stupid the military is. If you think that I feel most people are stupid, then you are correct.

    jeff,
Your hate is palpable. It controls your every thought. And you are consistently wrong.

John-“they prefer to believe that the positions bought and paid for by fossil fuel companies are correct.” Well, John, if they’re not correct, why don’t you show us why? Good luck. But if you believe money somehow taints the end results of climate studies, then why would you believe anything the alarmists have to say, as their positions are bought and paid for many times over by the government than what allegedly the fossil fuel companies are doing. As usual, you end up making our point for us. For this we thank you. “Droughts and floods..” That’s all one has to read to understand the climate circus that is global warming. It causes both, so as to be unfalsifiable.
