Possible climate change extreme weather event coming: Possible near-tropical storm Anna could possibly make landfall in the Carolinas on Saturday.
Pretty early in the year, so it must be a result of man-made climate change and if this sort of thing keeps up we will see tropical storms in February in 50 years.
The children of the Outer Banks probably don’t know what hurricanes are. Tropical storms have become so infrequent lately that when we do see one it is an “unprecedented event”. Must be caused by man. They are missing out on all the fun. I fondly remember many nights in the Outer Banks playing cards by candlelight and talking in the dark after storms took out power. Walking around outside with flashlights, visiting neighbors, listening to the thunder. Good days.
Oh, and that lovely thing is Petra Cubanova.

Actually Glanton only the number of hurricanes making landfall in the USA has decreased, the total number of North Atlantic hurricanes and named storms has remained about the same.
Yes, well I was interested in the Carolinas in this post as that is the impending threat.
For completeness though, here is the peer-reviewed global frequency chart through the 2014 season. Total global hurricane count has gradually dropped over the last 20 years and the number of major hurricanes has been flat.
