Bummer: Climate Change Doom Passed Us By Two Days Ago

Warmists are forever predicting DOOOOOOM, and are always surprised when it fails to come to pass

(Daily Caller) After today, there’s no point in trying to stop the warming of the global climate. If you disagree… why do you hate science?

From the miserable communists our good friends at The Guardian, eight years ago today:

Of course, Warmists will argue that we are already seeing the worst effects. And they’ll drive big fossil fueled vehicles and take long fossil fueled flights to attend protests to tell us this. And they’ll tell us that we need to pass lots of Government rules, regulations, and laws to fight the scourge of 18+ years of now atmospheric warming.

Do you know how to buy land in Antarctica? Because now that we know it’s too late and doom is coming, that will be the place to live.

Sure it’s cold now, but in a hundred years it will be 2 degrees warmer. I think I’ll plant corn.

2015 is the ‘last effective opportunity’ to stop catastrophic warming

President Barack Obama is the last chance to stop global warming

The U.N.’s top climate scientist said in 2007 we only had four years to save the world

Environmentalists warned in 2002 the world had a decade to go green

There is no other option: if doom does come to pass, they’ll never know it, because they’ll all be dead.

Actually, what they were saying is that there will be point where regardless of what we do the results will be bad. A point of no return. Obviously the longer we wait to act the worse the outcome. It’s not that complicated of a concept.

Think of it like cigarette use. Most life-long smokers die from smoking related illness (heart disease, emphysema, COPD, lung cancer). But if your strategy is to smoke until you present with symptoms, you’ve waited too long. Smoking, like global warming, sets in motion a number of deleterious processes that manifest later.

Anyway, you repeated the Daily Caller’s flawed interpretation of the Guardian article. It’s likely if we stopped CO2 emissions today, it will still warm another 2C (this is because of the atmospheric t1/2 of CO2). The longer we delay, the higher the temperature will go.

  5. John says:

Yes Teach and the U.S. Navy is also continuing to use huge amounts of fossil fuels even though they also are warmists
And even though this has been the coldest sun in one hundred years we are still seeing surface temp records broken all the time but it is not from CO2 and other greenhouse gases it is because of
    Whatever but not from CO2

    John,
You and Jeff are full of crap like always and wrong. But I am interested in why you think the US Navy is so great. Are you aware of the history of the Navy? If so, you would find that they are not that smart.

  7. Jeffery says:

    dave,

I’m relieved that a sexist, racist neoConfederate thinks I’m full of crap. Now you’re attacking the American military.

    You poor angry man.

Scientists say eight years left to avoid worst effects (or not.)

Panel urges governments to act immediately (of course)

2014: Global warming is already here and could be irreversible (or not), UN panel says (2015, hello!)
