Jeb Bush: “We Should Politely Ask Illegals To Leave”

And some wonder why Conservatives are less than enthusiastic over a Jeb Bush run

(Breitbart) This weekend in San Francisco while speaking to the National Automobile Dealers Association, former Gov. Jeb Bush (R-FL) said, “First and foremost we need to control our border.”

“The 40 percent of the people that have come here illegally came with a legal visa and overstayed their bounds,” he added. “We ought to be able to figure out where they are and politely ask them to leave.”

State and local enforcement should partner with the federal government to encourage illegal aliens to return to their home countries in a “compassionate” way, Bush continued.

Or, we could implement tough rules, as I’ve mentioned many times, that put a huge burden on those who employ illegals and/or educate them, as well as house them, give them loans, etc, making it virtually impossible for illegals to obtain jobs, schooling, and housing. No social services, no government money, nothing. A good chunk of those who overstay their visas were here for jobs or college. Since they are sponsoring the people with VISAS, they would be in charge of keeping track, and the minute the visa expires they would need to inform the government and terminate their relationship with the now illegal.

I’m trying to find something about Jeb Bush which would make him palatable as the Republican nominee, but, so far, nothing. Most of his policies seem to stretch beyond “Democrat-lite”.

Meanwhile, Chris Christie has launched a PAC that allows him to raise money in a potential White House bid.

And Sarah Palin

“Without putting any words in my mouth, you can absolutely say that I’m seriously interested,” said Palin, the 2008 vice presidential nominee, in the lobby of the Marriott late Friday night. But in the same conversation, she appeared to downplay her interest, suggesting she is merely keeping her option open.

Just, no.

  1. Jeffery says:

America will not elect a President who agrees with you on immigration.

It’s unlikely that the GOP grassroots will nominate a candidate who doesn’t.

  2. John says:

Teach you gotta have a look at Sarah’s last speech
Her TelePrompTer froze and she had to ad lib
    It was freakin hilarious !!!
This was the woman you wanted one heartbeat away from being POTUS

  3. In case you missed it, John, I’m no fan of Palin, particularly as an elected official, going back to 2011. Look it up

Palin may be damaged goods but she’ll never match Barry O’s absurdities.

“We’re the country that built the Intercontinental Railroad.”

“The reforms we seek would bring greater competition, choice, savings and inefficiencies to our health care system.”

“Our nation honors its unbroken line of fallen heroes and I see many of them in the audience here today.”

As for Jeb, I’ll politely ask him not to run.

“I’ve now been in 57 states? I think one left to go?”

“The Middle East is obviously an issue that has plagued the region for centuries.”

    “O-I-H-O”

    and my personal favorite….

“One such translator was an American of Haitian descent, representative of the extraordinary work that our men and women in uniform do all around the world — Navy Corpse-Man Christian Brossard.” –mispronouncing “Corpsman”

  6. Jeffery says:

The same electorate that elected George W. Bush and Barack Obama each twice, wisely rejected Palin.

Does anyone actually believe this poor lost soul could survive a Republican primary season? Palin as the Republican candidate in 2016 would be a dream come true for Dems.

  7. I’m going to be somewhat unpopular and agree, to some degree, with Jeffery. While she has some seriously passionate supporters, many as passionate and, yes, unhinged as Ron Paul supporters (I was blasted for calmly taking issue with her pronouncement as mentioned in this post while commenting at a few sites in the same way Ron Paul supporters, and the most fervent Obama supporters would), she has no ground game. She doesn’t really have the backing to create a ground game. Yes, she could do some serious fund-raising, but, then what? No infrastructure. For right or wrong, her negative ratings are just too high, regardless of how they came about. She hasn’t really taken the time to do more than have superficial policy prescriptions. I have yet to hear her get very deep on anything.

I was listening to Hannity on the way home, and, for a few, I thought it was Palin. Turned out to be Monica Crowley. She dug very deep into many subjects, which I never really hear Palin do. I read her Facebook site, and do not see anything deep. No statesman (woman?) like opinions.

She squandered quite a bit of good will and support with the way she handed her flirtations with running in 2011. She lost mine.

Oh, and let me add, if you go to her SarahPAC website, there is zero in the way of policy. No issues discussed. No beliefs. Nothing laid out except “donate” and her personal story.

On her Facebook page, I’ve scrolled all the way back to October 2014 and still haven’t found any sort of policy or true discussion of issues. There are quite a few barbs aimed at Obama and Hillary, but, nothing deep.
