Police Hating Protesters Plan New Year’s Eve Disruptions

I’m sure a bit of violence and looting will be in order

(Breitbart) Anti-police protesters are planning to disrupt New Year’s Eve celebrations at major metropolitan sites. The website Stop Mass Incarceration calls upon activists to not allow New Years Eve 2015 “to go down because business as usual in Amerikkka includes wanton police murder of Black people.”

The announcement says that as Americans around the country ringing in the New Year must be disrupted:

“The refusal of grand juries in Ferguson and Staten Island to indict the cops who murdered Michael Brown and Eric Garner made this clear. So the powerful, beautiful and necessary outpourings that have disrupted this society’s normal routine must continue and escalate on New Years Eve and into the New Year.

“But in this society, cops who brutalize and murder are given the benefit of the doubt and are almost never punished in any way for their crimes. This is illegitimate and unacceptable. It must be STOPPED, and it’s up to us to stop it! On New Year’s Eve, we must act in many different ways to do just that.

“Say in a loud, clear voice – NO NEW YEAR UNDER THIS OLD SYSTEM! And – WE CAN’T BREATHE! Bring your whistles and blow them loudly. Bring your signs and banners.” Bring your signs and banners too. Figure out imaginative ways to say NO MORE to all these horrors.”

I have an unimaginative way to say NO MORE: don’t break the law. Don’t teach kids to break the law. Don’t walk in the middle of the street. Don’t assault police officers and attempt to take their guns. Don’t charge police officers. Don’t resist arrest (I still maintain that the officers went over the line with Eric Garner). Don’t be a lifelong criminal. Don’t point guns, even fake ones, at police officers. Don’t dress like a thug. Don’t advocate for the thug life. Don’t steal. Don’t join gangs. Teach your kids to get educated. Understand that Democrats work hard to keep Blacks beholden to the Party with social programs that keep Blacks in poverty.

Of course, facts do not matter to the “protesters”, who are using the incidents to create yet another far left protest movement.

The point that the right-wing misses is that young Blacks doing those things are killed disproportionately.

    If you are Black:

Don’t pick up a toy gun in a park or you may get shot.

Don’t pick up a toy gun in Wal-Mart or you may get shot.

Don’t run from police or you may get shot.

Don’t run at police or you may get shot.

Don’t reach for your wallet or you may get shot.

Don’t walk down the stairs or you may get shot.

Police, just like most Americans, see Blacks as more or a threat than they do whites. They respond accordingly.

It’s a real problem and we need to fix it.

It’s easy to say don’t break the law. Eric Garner was breaking the law and is dead. Many Americans broke the law this morning (speeding, lingering in the left lane, rolling through a stop sign, driving with their wipers on but lights off) but did not get shot by the police. John Crawford III was holding an air-rifle in Wal-Mart and was shot and killed, but was not breaking the law. The other day, two white guys in the Post Falls, Idaho Wal-Mart took a BB gun, loaded it and shot four times in the store. They broke the law and were arrested but not shot at.

don’t break the law.

Shorter: Darkies – Be good boys and do as your told and our police won’t shoot you as often.

  2. If it’s a ‘real” problem you shou should be able to come up with a more than a few “real” and undisputable cases. (Queue Jeapordy theme …)

  3. Jeffery says:

And the protestors don’t hate the police, they are afraid of the police.

What was John Crawford III’s crime? Carrying a BB gun in Wal-Mart?

What was Akai Gurley’s crime? Walking down the steps? Dressing like a thug?

    Kareem Abdul Jabbar wrote recently:

In a Dec. 21, 2014 article about the shooting, the Los Angeles Times referred to the New York City protests as “anti-police marches,” which is grossly inaccurate and illustrates the problem of perception the protestors are battling. The marches are meant to raise awareness of double standards, lack of adequate police candidate screening, and insufficient training that have resulted in unnecessary killings. Police are not under attack, institutionalized racism is. Trying to remove sexually abusive priests is not an attack on Catholicism, nor is removing ineffective teachers an attack on education. Bad apples, bad training, and bad officials who blindly protect them, are the enemy. And any institution worth saving should want to eliminate them, too.

    LibertyAtSteak,

How many young Black men need to be killed by the State before it becomes a “real” problem?

How many “patriots” were killed by the State at Ruby Ridge? Was that a “real” problem? Timothy McVeigh thought so.

(Queue (sic) Jeapordy (sic) theme …)… You only got 66.66% of the words wrong.

  5. @Jeffrey

I always appreciate a good spell check intern. Well done.

To answer your “how many” question … the number to justify an unhinged mass national protest is way more than you can cite. Also – you guys need to stop dragging out T. McVeigh as your right wing wing domestic terrorist poster child. That was one guy 20 years ago. Who else ya got?

  6. Jeffery says:

You’re welcome. Lazy writing usually represents a lazy mind.

McVeigh is just the worst, not the only. And there have been many attacks since.

In the US, since 9/11, Muslim extremists kill fewer Americans than do right-wing extremists. And the right-wingers seem to target police officers. Yet the right whines whenever one mentions their extremist wing. Remember the sturm and drang when

So let’s say the State kills 10 unarmed Black citizens a year. Is that not enough to cause a protest?

And who are you to decide who can protest and why?

Here’s a separate question: Since so-called “sovereign citizens” have renounced their US citizenship, are they “illegals” and should they be deported?

  7. Casey says:

That’s what I like about Jeffery. You can always depend on him to spout the oldest, most time-worn BS talking points out there as if they were brand new.

Hey, Jeffy: go count how many young black men were shot by cops each of the past five years. Then count how many young black men were shot by other young black men for the same five years. Then compare the two numbers.

P.S. I agree that the Dayton shooting was BS, but the guy who called 911 holds a lot of responsibility for either exaggerating or just lying. Either way he convinced the cops they were walking into a dangerous shooter situation. After that the cops made things worse.

That’s part of the problem, though. The race baiters like Sharpton and Jackson stir crap up over Trayvon Martin or Michael Brown while arguably criminal police acts are ignored.

  8. john says:

Teach when you were growing up did you also think people like Martin Luther King were racial agitators who should not have broken laws
Teach 1/2 of those who receive food stamps in the USA do you think that this helps to keep them in poverty?
The poverty rate is much lower now tahn when programs under Johnson’s Great Society lifted many blacks out of exreme poverty
Want to get more out of poverty? raise the minimum wage. States that have a higher minimum wage than teh fFederal wage have a lower rate of unemployment than the national average
Poverty rates are actually higher in rural areas than in urban areas
And please Teach consider this: maybe YOU may not really know what is best for black Americans. Maybe just maybe they themselves know

  9. jl says:

J-“how many black men need to be killed by the state before it becomes a real problem?” When low info types like yourself realize that the “real problem” is black on black crime, which kills many, many more than the police do. Further, by far most of the police shootings are ruled justifiable, the black on black- not so much. And unless you can show that all the police shootings were done by the state police, which you can’t, then the “killed by the state” is just drama. “Killed by the city police” just wouldn’t fit your narrative. But since J brings up an article by Kareem, let’s take a closer look. “Police aren’t under attack, racism is.” Really, J? A few headlines from the last couple days: At the NYC Justice for all March a few weeks ago, protesters were heard chanting “What do we want? Dead cops!” From 12/25/14- “Two black men attempt to assassinate police officer in Durham, N.C. on Christmas Day.” From 12/28/14: “LAPD launches man-hunt after suspects ambush police officers with gun fire.” From 12/27/14: Commissioner Bill Bratton-” More than 50 reports of threats against NYC police officers since 2 cops executed last weekend.” From 12/267/14: “Illinois man arrested after threatening to “kill cops and innocent white children.” From 12/28/14: “Ferguson protesters harass drivers and pedestrians with chants of “Deck the halls with rows of dead cops.” From 12/27/14: “Ferguson protester who ‘advocated peace’ charged with setting fire at Berkeley QT.” Sorta sounds like they are under some kind of attack, doesn’t it, J? I’d be careful quoting Kareem in these matters next time.

  10. jl says:

John-“The poverty rate is much lower than when Johnson started the war on poverty.” Not really. In 1964, the poverty rate was estimated at between 17-19%. In 2012, latest figures I could find, the rate was around 15%. That after 15 trillion dollars of welfare spending welfare between state and federal governments. Looking at it that way, it’s a failure. Also, the federal definition of poverty changed in 1969 and again in 1981, so you may not be comparing apples to apples.

  11. Jeffery says:

“The State” refers to governments in general, as opposed to private citizens.

The fact that young Black men kill other young Black men is irrelevant to the argument that the State should not kill unarmed young Black men. We should be finding ways to reduce both.

I find it fascinating that conservatives so freely admit that its OK for the State to kill citizens without due process just because they are Black.

And you’re surprised that some young Blacks are fighting back? Isn’t a Tea Party mantra, “The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.”

  12. Jeffery says:

If agents of the State were stopping vehicles with Tea Party stickers or open carry advocates, detaining and searching them (stop and frisk) and killing 10 or so a year for “resisting” do you think FOX and others would be support the police?

Let’s say an officer sees a white guy walking down the street with a pistol on his hip. This may be a legal activity (depends on the state and the legal status of the individual). If the officer is anxious, he may pull his service weapon and hold it on the individual, and order the individual to comply with an order to lay on the ground. If the individual resists, would you be OK with the officer shooting him?

Even in an open carry state, the individual may not be allowed to possess a firearm, and the officer has no way of knowing unless he checks the individual’s identification, as he could be a dangerous felon.
