Kay Hagan Flips On Travel Ban

Someone must be seeing flagging poll numbers

(NY Times) The politics of Ebola have been swirling for awhile, and Senator Kay Hagan, the Democratic incumbent facing a tough re-election race in North Carolina, just made a sharp change in direction.

Earlier this week, Ms. Hagan sided with the Obama administration, arguing against banning flights from the West African countries battling the epidemic.

“That’s not going to solve this problem,” she had said. “That’s not going to contain the epidemic that we see happening in Africa.”

After facing withering criticism from her Republican rival, Thom Tillis, Ms. Hagan changed her mind on Friday and called for immediate action.

“I am calling on the administration to temporarily ban the travel of non-U.S. citizens from the affected countries in West Africa,” Ms. Hagan said in a statement.

“I have said for weeks that travel restrictions should be one part of a broad strategy to prevent Ebola from spreading in the U.S. and fighting it in Africa. I am calling on the Administration to temporarily ban the travel of non-U.S. citizens from the affected countries in West Africa. Although stopping the spread of this virus overseas will require a large, coordinated effort with the international community, a temporary travel ban is a prudent step the President can take to protect the American people, and I believe he should do so immediately.”

Except,  she has not been saying for weeks that there should be a travel ban. Typical lying crapweasel.

    Teach,

Do all North Carolinians lie, or just you and the Senator?

    Teach,

Conservative Rasmussen has Hagan up +2. So perhaps Tiller was looking at the polls and decided to politicize a serious public health issue.

Is that lying weasel statuette your own? Do you win it every year? Kudos.

Oh Jeffery, once again you show that you either cannot read, cannot comprehend or just are a lying pack of manure.

    Probably all three.

But let’s look at the crux of the issue, shall we?

“Earlier this week, Ms. Hagan sided with the Obama administration, ……”

Notice the timing of the statement. Since you have comprehension issues, I’ll point it out for you: “EARLIER THIS WEEK.”

There’s even a video link dated the 17th of October showing she believed a ban was not needed and wrong.

Now on Friday, she says ““I have said for weeks that travel restrictions should be one part of a broad strategy to prevent Ebola from spreading in the U.S. and fighting it in Africa.”

One would hope that even someone like you sees the contradiction in supporting one thing this past week and then saying you had supported something opposite that for the past several weeks.

Maybe it is because you don’t understand the concept of a week. Maybe you can’t count to 7, as in days of the week.

Or maybe you have no morals and ethics and are not trustworthy in anything that you say.

I don’t know if you noticed on old jeff, but he really does not seem to be aware of anything but left wing climate sites and he can’t understand those. As to morals and ethics, he has none. Plus, he is one of the most bigotted people I have ever seen.

    Teach,

I acknowledged the Senator’s cowardly flip-flop. Will you acknowledge and retract your lie about the IPCC?
