When Semi Retired President Obama’s Lost Michael Moore….

Tough choice for Progressives: stand with Michael Moore or Obama?

(Hollywood Reporter) Michael Moore sees President Obama’s legacy as set. The progressive documentary filmmaker couldn’t help but express his disappointment with the legislative accomplishments of the politician.

“When the history is written of this era, this is how you’ll be remembered: he was the first black president,” Moore said during a discussion at The Hollywood Reporter’s video lounge at the Toronto Film Festival.

“OK, not a bad accomplishment, but that’s it,” the director said. “That’s it, Mr. Obama. 100 years from now, ‘he was the first black American that got elected president’ and that’s it. Eight years of your life and that’s what people are going to remember. Boy, I got a feeling, knowing you, that — you’d probably wish you were remembered for a few other things, a few other things you could’ve done.”

“So, it is, on that level, a big disappointment,” Moore said.

Is Moore correct? Possibly? There are many things Obama might be remembered for. Increasing the national debt by over 7 trillion dollars (so far). Hyper-partisanship. Doing all he can to avoid doing the job he campaigned for twice. Golfing. Golfing immediately after giving a statement about an American beheaded by ISIS. Presiding over an economy in the doldrums. Leading from behind. Refusing to get behind rising democracy in the Middle East. Yammering on about income inequality while enriching the 1%. The list of Bad Things goes on and on.

It will be interesting to see how history remembers Obama. Obvioiusly, Moore wanted more far, far left Progressive policies enacted.

The problem is that liberal professors write history books. For instance, Lincoln should have been put up on war crime charges he was so bad. As it was he was shot and that erased the evil that he had committed. The same goes for FDR. He was horrible. Yet, people like Jeff hold him as a hero even though he created the great depression (the rest of the world recovered long before we did). Obama will be remembered for health care, even though it was destructive of the best system in the world.

Off topic, I did see SICKO, at least as much as I could stomach and was amazed that the man never, ever told the truth in the whole film.

    I’ll bite.

What “war crimes” did Lincoln commit?

    Guitar,
I don’t have a complete list on Lincoln but will give you some things off the top of my head and understand that this is more than just war crimes.

    1. Making war on Japan without congress.
    2. The long march of the Navajo.
    3. Starving, murdering and forcing Sioux into concentration camps (yes, I know they did not start till the Boer War) and generally committing genocide of that population.
    4. The total blockade of Southern ports.
    5. Imprisoning members of Congress.
    6. Seizure of newspapers.
    7. Imprisoning any and all decenters.
    8. Taking hostages and killing hostages.
    9. Theft of personal property (slaves, cotton, etc.)
    10. Destruction of private property.
    11. Starvation, torture and killing of prisoners of war.
    12. Contraband in cotton and other goods.
    13. Taking bribes for pardons.
    14. Firing upon innocent women and children, with untold deaths.

As you can see, the list can quickly grow and I didn’t even mention the facts of the start of the war.
