Democrat Says Republicans Are Worse Than ISIS

He’s just saying what Democrats think. They typically poo poo the threat from radical Islam, and actually consider Republicans, Conservatives, and anyone (other than Islamists) who doesn’t hold their Progressive views to be an Enemy

(Al.com) Congressional candidate J.T. Smith of Phenix City is upset with the Republicans in Congress — so much that he compared Republicans to the terrorist group, the Islamic State in Iraq and the the Levant, also known as ISIS or ISIL.

Smith, the Democratic nominee in Alabama’s District 3, made the comparison on Labor Day, taking to Twitter to vent.

Then he went to attempt to add context (I’m hoping the Facebook post will embed correctly. First time I’ve done this. If not, here)

Update: nothing wrong with the Twitter link, cause he deleted it. It said

The greatest country on earth is being bullied from within. Actions of Republicans in congress are worse than #ISIL. pic.twitter.com/cOfwONHG13

— JT Smith (@jt4congress2014) September 2, 2014

He also deleted the Facebook link, which said

“Twitter does not allow for context, but this does,” Smith wrote on Facebook. “I am not saying that the republican party is beheading people in the streets, obviously. Here in America, because we are a civilized democracy, we do not use violence against each other as a means of control. The republicans have used the economy as a means to terrorize the people of this country.”

He now has a tweet saying

It’s a well done apology, not one of those weaselly non-apology apologies. But, one has to wonder why he wrote it in the first place, then followed up with an apology. And no explanation on his Facebook page.

  1. Ridiculous story there. What happened after?
    Thanks!

  2. Jeffery says:

The same way that the far right claims that Obama and progressives are one of the greatest threats to this nation, progressives claim that extant Republicans are a greater threat to the nation than ISIL. (In part, because the ISIL threat is being exaggerated.)

I’ll bet Daffy Duck enjoyed wearing that outfit!

But seriously, ISIS has executed prisoners by firing squad, beheaded and crucified people, and raped women or sold them into sexual slavery. I’d say that’s far worse than anything done or even suggested by Republicans.

On the other hand, I’ll concede that both are guilty of waterboarding.

    Jeff,
What you don’t get is that both the Democrats and Republicans are progressives, just in slightly different ways. There are many in this country that feel both parties are equally bad and leading us to oblivion. Since, 1865 we have not had the government that we originally signed on to and purports to be the emblem of freedom. So we are attempting to get us back to the 1860 mark, of course without the burden of slavery. The Greeks had to do something of the same sort when they found out that Democracy was just as bad as tyranny. In fact, it is clear that our brave, resolute leader wants to take Democracy all the way to its final conclusion of Communism. But the change will not occur until the economic situation collapses as is the inevitable conclusion to what the Feds have done since Clinton.

How do you know the ISIL threat is being exaggerated? But the more I think about it, how funny. The Global warming “threat” isn’t being exaggerated, the ISIL threat is. Got it.

  6. Jeffery says:

    j,

There is overwhelming evidence that global warming is occurring.

There is no evidence that ISIL is any more than a murderous regional threat.
