Climate Mom Considered Setting Herself On Fire

Because we’re all doomed from “carbon pollution” or something (via Climate Depot)

(Oregon Live) What do you do when everything is wrong and your tribe’s catatonic?

A Tunisian man set himself on fire in 2010 and sparked an international movement. Don’t tell my family, but I’ve considered that route. I mean, wouldn’t any parent sacrifice a kidney, lung or life for her child? Imagine the headline: “Soccer mom desperate to save children’s future self-immolates.”

But I can neither tolerate pain nor willingly traumatize children, so I ditched that idea.
After the State Department recently green-lighted Keystone, depressed friends warmed up their New Denier choir. I test-drove a new strategy. I lit myself on fire — figuratively.

Unsurprisingly, Mary DeMocker is a co-founder of her local chapter of 350.org, which is known for doing insane things, like the blowing “denier” kids up video, produced by 10:10 and sponsored by 350.org (which they’ve worked really hard to ban from Youtube re-uploads. You can see it on their own channel, if you want)

    Teach,

It seems that actions speak louder than words to her. She is criticizing the same crowd that you criticize – those whom you call warmist hypocrites for not doing more.

“I met their “You can’t save the world!” with “Watch me try, suckas!” We’re alive at THE most extraordinary point in human history. Climatologists say we can avoid catastrophe by cutting global emissions 6 percent yearly — starting today. Choking off new fossil fuel infrastructure is critical. Let’s show kids how courage and love can trump tyranny. Citizens helped World War II allies with all-out efforts – victory gardens, rationing, kids collecting tin scraps. We’ll do it again! Grassroots activism is skyrocketing. Keystone is stalled. Northwest citizens swarm permit hearings. Divestment campaigns proliferate. Energy innovations abound…”

“… Defeat Northwest fossil fuel schemes. Deny Ambre Energy’s coal export permits. Demand PSU, OSU, and UO divest. Write letters, songs, speeches. Defend every living thing on every opinion page, in every conversation, everywhere, and fight, sing, and love as if everything — including our lives — depends on action. Because it does.

    So good God, join us.”

She seems smart and inspiring. You better smear her for reasons unrelated to her arguments.

  2. Nighthawk says:

What’s the carbon footprint of self immolation?

  3. Um, I’m “smearing” her for considering lighting herself on fire for a ginned up, falsified, idiotic issue, that is primarily fake.

    Pirate,

You are on the wrong side of science, scientists, nature, the future and our descendants.

But as a conservative you wouldn’t understand, since conservatives do not have the courage of their convictions.

  5. Nighthawk says:

“conservatives do not have the courage of their convictions” eh?

Seems like William has plenty of courage to stand for his convictions. He does, after all, have a blog that is widely read and has posts that point out the utter BS the climate change hoax is.

All you do Jeffery, is troll his site and spout the same old, tired talking points that have been debunked time and again.

  6. DL Sly says:

Would that she had. One less corrupted gene in the pool. If she lived on the east coast, homeless people could have used her to warm up from the latest “Gorbal Warming” event.

Today is the first day of the NCAA basketball tournament.

If a player took a shot as bad and off target as the one Jeffery tried to take, he would be benched, the crowd would be all over him, his teammates would push him to the end of the bench and be laughing at his stupidity.

In the vernacular of the sport, Jeffery shot a brick.

Sometimes you feel sorry for people like Jeffery and then you realize that they bring all the scorn and idiocy on themselves.

Oh, and by the way Jeffery, Al Gore and you are still hypocrites in the AGW debate and your unwillingness of you, Gore and people of your ilk to change your lifestyle shows that your talk about AGW is bluster and that you don’t actually believe what you type.

Actions speak louder than words Jeffery.
