Thinking Out Loud, John Kerry Won’t Rule Out Ground Troops

Remember the days when John Kerry said that Iraq was the wrong war in the wrong place in the wrong time? When he and other Democrats, including President McBombypants, were constantly assaulting Operation Iraqi Freedom, which freed 50 million people from a brutal, murderous, torturous, rapist, limb cutting off, chemical weapons using regime which saw, according to a statistical study done by a Jordanian doctor, 50 thousand children die every year because they were denied food and medicine? How about when Saddam continued to violate 17 UN resolutions? Supported multiple Middle East terrorist groups? Paid families $25K to send their kids off on suicide bombing missions in Israel? How things change

(Mediate) Secretary of State John Kerry refused to absolutely rule out the possibility of U.S. troops on the ground in Syria on Tuesday.

During a hearing on Syria in front of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, committee chairman Sen. Bob Menendez asked Kerry whether there would be any possibility of ground troops eventually entering Syria at some point.

The administration has “no desire” to do that, Kerry said.

But, “In the event Syria imploded for instance or in the event there was a threat of a chemical weapons cache falling into the hands of al-Nusra or someone else and it was clearly in the interest of our allies — all of us, the British, the French, and others,” Kerry said, “I don’t want to take off the table an option that might or might not be available to the president of the United States to secure our country.”

Kerry quickly walked it back, saying, “The bottom line is, the president has no intention and will not, and we do not want to, put American troops on the ground to fight this, or be involved in the fighting of this civil war, period.”

What could possibly go wrong with limited air strikes on a client state of Russia and Iran which isn’t really targeting the actual chemical weapons caches? Surely, all those jihadist groups fighting against Assad wouldn’t try and do something like get their hands on them, right? And could we possibly have any sense that Obama would listen to the American people and not put any troops on the ground, considering he doesn’t listen to Americans in the first place, and cares not a whit for the Constitution?

Pressed on this point later by Sen.Bob Corker, Kerry said, “All I did was raise a hypothetical question about some possibility — and I’m thinking out loud — about how to protect America’s interests.”

And there’s one of the problems: what are America’s interests in the Syrian civil war, matching a brutal regime against Islamic terror groups? So far, I have yet to hear anything to confirm any American interests. How about you?

No one believes that is actually likely to happen. HOWEVER Teach if Assad falls do YOU feel that if necessary ground troops should secure his WMD ? If taht is not done there is a chance that Hezbollah will get control and use then against israel. Certainly you never objected to Bush’s “all options are on the table” in regards to Iran’s WMD

  2. Gail Combs says:

Teach, The USA is the supplier of Cannon Fodder for the Globalist Elite. (I wish John would take his blinders off and see that.)

From the 133 page FOIA document obtained by Judicial Watch, The Department of Defense Document entiled AFSS 0910 EQUAL OPPORTUNITY AND TREATMENT INCIDENTS (EOTI) LESSON PLAN that you already mentioned:

    D. Extremist Ideologies
    1. Introduction
    • As noted, an ideology is a set of political beliefs about the nature of people and society. People who are committed to an ideology seek not only to persuade but to recruit others to their belief. In U.S. history, there are many examples of extremist ideologies and movements. The colonists who sought to free themselves from British rule and the Confederate states who sought to secede from the Northern states are just two examples.

    2. Ideologies
    a. Nationalism – The policy of asserting that the interests of one’s own nation are separate from the interests of other nations or the common interest of all nations.

So Nationalism and taking serious the oath a soldier swears to uphold the Constitution of the USA is now viewed by the US Military as EXTREMISM and must be stomped out????

So NATIONALISM heads the top of the Department of Defense list of EXTREMISM???

No wonder they Court Martialed Specialist Michael New for refusing to wear a United Nations uniform and take orders from a foreign commander. “I am not a UN Soldier” says Army Specialist Michael New

Worse the 15 minute Court Martial trial was based on a LIE. The order pointed to by the Military and declared ‘Secret’ so it could not be viewed DID NOT EXIST!.

After review of the classified document, New’s attorneys concluded that the document proves that New was right in alleging that President Clinton did not have the authority to make the deployment, for it was in conflict with the United Nations Participation Act of 1945.

“The Army had that document, and that document provided exculpatory evidence in favor of specialist New, and they withheld it,” Herb Titus, one of New’s attorneys said. “Withholding evidence favorable to a defendant in a court-martial violates not only due process but military discovery rules.”

So now the Elite want more US young men to serve as Globalist Cannon Fodder.

Please note John, I dislike ALL Globalists and they come in all different flavors from Bush and Shrub to Al Gore and Clinton. The Globalist Mega-corporations buy ALL the politicians not just the Republicans as you seem to think or Democrats as Teach seems to think.

I suggest you and Teach both read America’s Ruling Class — And the Perils of Revolution: The only serious opposition to this arrogant Ruling Party is coming not from feckless Republicans but from what might be called the Country Party — and its vision is revolutionary.

It is about time for the little folk all over the world to realize the divide is not Right vs Left but Parasites vs wealth producers and ALL politicians, bureaucrats, NGOs and the Mega-rich orchestrating them fit in the Parasite Class.

(No Teach, I am not Marxist. I am a hard core Capitalist who hates Neo-Corporatism )

As I see it, the real problem is that Obama, Biden, Kerry, et al are now being forced to say the arguements used for the Iraq confluct were valid. This is affer years of claiming the US had no legal or moral authority to go to Iraq.

At the hearings yesterday, I was surprised at how many Republicans supported the idea of an attack. At the same time, I was a little bit proud in the fact the Republicans seemed to be saying chemical attacks – whether against 1400 Syrians or 5000 Kurds – were not acceptable.

It is clear that the Democrats have no moral compass or consistancy in this discussion.

However, john’s point is well taken, but not for the reason he thinks. The US will have to put troops on the ground in order to secure chemical weapons. It doesn’t matter who holds the weapons. In order to remove the weapons from the area, it has to be done with people on the ground.

So when john says “no one thinks this (boots on the ground) will happen” his next statement of Hezbollah getting the weapons is the reason the US will have to put ground troops in the area.

This means the administration is lying through their teeth.

Of course, when Kerry said yesterday that he had previously testified to the Committee in the Viet Nam era, one could not help but note he lied through his teeth back then and he is lying now.

    Leopards cannot change spots.

  4. Wonderful_Gumballs says:

Hey john, where do you think Syria got their chemical and other WMD weapons?

Johnny, are you now in Bush’s corner for going after Iraq’s WMDs? Neat how you turn that corner so fast.

By the way, do you have firm confirmation that Assad was the one that let loose that chemical weapon?

Also, in Iraq, there was no civil war going on and the civilians were being wiped out with no chance of recourse. And, Saddam was kidnapping Americans and other westerners. And it was Saddam that helped train and harbor terrorists.

In Syria, it is the terrorists who are conducting the civil war now (yeah, it was non terrorists in the beginning) and its the terrorists who have probably shot off the WMD to gain international sympathy.

And I find it amazing john, that you want Obama to bomb Syria and go boots on ground to protect the WMDs that Assad has been protecting by claiming that if we dont go in, the terrorists will get them.

You should be saying we need to support Assad to help him maintain his protections of the WMDs to keep them away from the terrorists.

  5. john says:

All options are on the table………. but well that really is just for republican presidents.
I am glad obama asked for and received the go ahead from the Senate. Are you?

  6. Wonderful_Gumballs says:

John, why do you have to always lie? The senate did not give him the go ahead. It was one of the committees. The senate will not vote on it till next week or later.

and, didn’t Bush get authorization BEFORE going to international parties? And didn’t bush get more than France to back his plan?

And, if this were truly an international uproar, then wouldn’t the UN be involved? Didn’t you guys roar and scream and holler that Bush should first seek sanctions, then let the sanctions play out BEFORE jumping the gun and going to authorization of war in Iraq?

But now, Obama is in charge and you guys want to go straight to a full scale war with Syria?

Has he even come on local tv and talked to us about his plan, about why we need to be involved, and his evidence? or, did he only speak to an international audience?

I know trying to convince a troll of a blinding truth is like trying to teach a dog to cook, but at least maybe someone else will read these comments and turn from troll-dom.
