Fifteen Republicans Duped By Shumer-Corker-Hoeven Border Amnesty Bill

Does anyone else think that the National Republican Senatorial Committee is going to have a really tough time getting donations for 2014?

(The Hill) The Senate voted 67-27 Monday to advance a border security amendment to bipartisan immigration legislation, building momentum for a final vote later this week.

Fifteen of the “yes” votes were Republicans, suggesting supporters could hit the 70-vote threshold they hope to reach in the final vote. It is thought a big, bipartisan vote could put pressure in the GOP-held House, where immigration reform faces dimmer prospects.

The Republicans who voted “yes” were Sens. John McCain (Ariz.), Lindsey Graham (S.C.), Marco Rubio (Fla.), Jeff Flake (Ariz.) — the four authors of the legislation — and Sens. Bob Corker (Tenn.), Lamar Alexander (Tenn.), Kelly Ayotte (N.H.), Jeff Chiesa (N.J.), Susan Collins (Maine), Orrin Hatch (Utah), Dean Heller (Nev.), Mark Kirk (Ill.), John Hoeven (N.D.), Lisa Murkowski (Alaska) and Roger Wicker (Miss.).

Paul Ryan, who’s gone completely squish on this subject after losing the election as Romney’s running mate, thinks that the toothless and soon to be blown off border security measures makes it more likely for it to be passed in the House. But, will it? We know that 100% of Democrats will vote for it, since it’s a wet dream for them: they know that border control will be a joke, that those getting legal status will receive federal benefits, regardless, and that they will start agitating for the post-illegals be given voting rights, if not outright citizenship. As David Weigel points out, there is no pressure on House Republicans to pass this turd of a bill. In fact, there will be enormous pressure to not pass it, and to craft legislation that is all about security.

(Michelle Malkin) These cynical pols insist that the rest of law-abiding Americans and law-abiding permanent residents must support Washington’s push to “do something” because “11 million people are living in the shadows.”

To which I say: So? There are 23 million Americans out of work. Why aren’t they Washington’s top priority anymore? Didn’t both parties once pledge that j-o-b-s for unemployed and underemployed Americans was Job No. 1? Why is the very first major legislative push of 2013 another mass amnesty/voter drive/entitlement expansion?

See those 15 Republicans above? Primary them. Do not donate to them. They are liars, Democrats in Republican clothes, and are destroying the Republicans. I’ll give Democrats this: they picked a perfect method to destroy the GOP. I’m just surprised they didn’t wait till 2014 to pull this, thereby giving them a better shot at picking up more Senate seats.

Teach the bill is going to pass in the Senate. So all of those NO votes are not going to stop it. They should vote yes just so as to NOT totally piss off the Hispanics and Asians.

You’re wrong John. A person must stand on their principles, even if they go against the mainstream. Think about it…Hispanics of various mixes/ethnicity are only 15% of population, Asians are around 4%. Blacks comprise 12% or so and Whites are still around 70% of the population. So, do the math.

Also, according to ObamaCare rules, any company which has more than 50 employees, must have approved healthcare insurance or face fines of $3,000 per worker. But since the newly admitted, former illegal immigrants will not qualify for health care subsidies for 13 years, by language in current reform bill, employers are being encouraged to hire the former illegals instead of any of the 23 million Americans that are currently out of work. Again…do the math.

Yes, I’ve been advocating for someone to primary against Lindsey ‘Amnesty’ Graham for some time now. http://thatmrgguy.wordpress.com/2013/06/24/lindseygraham-seals-doom-votes-to-end-debate-on-immigration-reform-bill/

That’s just one article I’ve posted about ‘light in the loafers’ Graham.

  3. No, John, they should vote for the rule of law, but there’s zero point in discussing that with a liberal.

And that has been my entire point all along. So what? Let’s stop trying to give freebies and amnesty to illegals, many who ARE felons but are allowed to stay here instead of being deported after trial, and start helping out our citizens. Jobs. Jobs. Jobs. Energy. Energy. Energy.

But then, these liberals on both sides don’t care about that. They only see the chance to further destabilize this once great nation.
