Hello world. I”mmmmmmmmm BAAAAACK!!
Our building got power back on Thursday evening, and just now got the interwebz back on.
It is just astounding the speed at which paif-for-by-usage-fees utilities get back to operation.
The sheer amount of support, help, volunteers, available equipment, personal support, one-stop-shopping for relief and info, all within a mile or two of the devastated areas. Volunteer groups from all over the country are here JUST! to clean up debris. (wipes away tears)
Unfortunately, now the oklahoma wind is sweeping across the plains… clean areas are now littered again. Sorry Kansas.
People are set up all over also just cooking meals, washing clothes, repairing flat tires, charging cell phones, coffee, donuts, BBQ, clothing, cleaning items, bins, backpacks, etc.
Roofs are already getting covered up and repaired, broken windows covered up, debris removal is WELL underway. The FBI, Homeland Sec, all branches of military, all state and local LEO, were on scene to provide protection from looting and give a sense of protection. (unfort, the “sense” is all they gave. looting was rampant from that night on, with only a few people caught. The roadblocks mainly caused headaches for the locals.)
Kids are getting backpacks full of school supplies, etc(TM), and gift cards of significant amounts.
As people returned to our apt complex, building residents would clean up the area around their buildings. I spent friday cleaning around my building and others. Now, my muscles don’t want to work. Volunteers came in over last few days and helped haul off the piles and clean up other areas.
The only issue that I have not heard really addressed, is where all these now-homeless people will stay for the long term till their homes are rebuilt? Where will the apt residents go due to their buildings being rebuilt? This complex was full. I’ve seen people moving out all weekend. I hope they’ve found a good place to move to.
Glad to see that life is steering towards normalcy, Gumballs. This sure is a time to make you appreciate the blessings of a plain old normal life.
This photo has got me wondering about a few issues of protocol:
1) Is OK to have sexual relations on top of the American flag?
2) Is it even OK for a really sexy chick to lay on the American flag?
3) What if she took her shoes off?
4) What if she “wrapped herself in the flag” while wearing nothing else?

Thanks JG. Yeah, I spent the whole weekend staring at my ceiling, counting the textured popcorn, cause I had no internet. My life is meaningless without it. JG, it is ok to do all those things, only as long as your bust size is is smaller than your IQ and your rear end. Other than that.. it’s cool.
So Gummie how did you feel about Rev Pat Robertson’s comments that teh tornados were cause by people not praying enough? and that people shoukdn’t build houses where there are tornados? Sort of like the psters who said people shouldn’t build houses where hurricanes could hit
