Let’s see: finished the 3rd book of the Day Soldiers trilogy. Excellent, excellent series, and I’m not usually that big on werewolves and vampires. I’d give the series a 4.5 out of 5.
Took on The Mighty Quinn. It was a so so read, but kept my attention all the way through. Gave Dawn Of Destiny (Epic) a try, just couldn’t hold my attention. Wasn’t bad, just wasn’t interesting for me at the time. The Blood Eagle In the Big Easy started out really fracking preachy and slow, gave that up quickly. Zombie Patrol became very silly with Men In Black crap. I’ve been reading Eye Candy, got about 35% in (it’s a long, long book. It’s not a perfect match, but The Mighty Quinn was 242 pages at 376kb. Eye Candy is 737kb), but it doesn’t seem to be going anywhere, just stuff happens. Like Seinfeld, there seems to be no plot. No purpose. Too bad, because it started very well.
I have a couple downloaded, both free and samples, that I’ll give a whirl. What’s on your menu?
Right now I’m reading “Masters and Commanders,” Andrew Roberts’ history of WWII as seen from the highest level, the relationship between FDR, Churchill, General Marshall, and General Sir Alan Brooke. It’s been fascinating, so far.
I was also happy to recently find one of my old-favorite science-fantasy novels, “Doomfarers of Coramonde,” available in Kindle format. Briefly, it’s the story of US soldiers fighting in Vietnam who are magically transported to a fantasy world. I’m looking forward to rereading it.
“Gins of Independence” – a book on the siege of Yorktown in 1781.
So far it is technical and wonderfully detailed.
Umm… that should be “GUNS of Independence,” not “Gins.”

Reading Nelson DeMille’s the Panther…pretty interesting/ironic that I am since it involves terrorism, and revenge for the Cole among other jihadist attacks on or off our soil. The main character John Corey is tough- and a great patriot…love his style! We need carbon copies of him in our government. Fat chance though. What we have now, are politically correct wimps who won’t say it like it is.
So, it’s pretty good? I’ve read most of DeMille’s other works, enjoyed the John Corey books (especially Plum Island), but the last one, Wild Fire, kinda bored me.
Hey TC, is that anything like One-Liners? Not sure how a book about one-liners using dubstep would play out in a story arc, but… hey.. each their own.
And, I will make no further comment on my still current series I am on.
Hmm is anyone else experiencing problems with the images on
this blog loading? I’m trying to determine if its a problem on my end or if it’s the blog.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
